Eloquence in the English language, that’s what people, want to own. We want to express our emotions and grief like a poet manner that one sight could create whole magical words. But for some, it’s a dream because they frightened of doing English.

When you go to the Philippines and elder people mostly lived in baryo’s (province/village) you met they will say to you, they only speak English-Carabao. Well for me; don’t laugh at the Filipino manner like this. English-Carabao imports how Filipino trying their best to gratified their guest.

In the Philippines, the English language wasn’t that used daily in our lives, but how Filipinos good at this?. It starts from being English-Carabao speaking custom.

Carabao or water buffalo (Bubalus bubalis carabanesis) has a great impact on the culture and tradition of all Filipinos. Carabao is the farmer’s best friend, where when technology wasn’t yet discovered on plowing and harvesting rice or any crops, carabao becomes the first human tool for cultivating land fields for a fruitful harvest.

When you heard Carabao-English, signifies that he or she is trying hard to work as a buffalo just to talk and expressed his thoughts in a manner that you can understand at least get some clues. like “Yes and NO” come eat, here, there. They choose English that frequently used and quickly understand.

Carabao bow!

Carabao is a large mammal that has black-toned skin, some I also saw Albino of their kind. They are related to cattle “Cow”. The meat of Cattle is Beef, and Buffalo is carabeef. If you already tried riding a back horse, Carabao travel may be a great experience too.

Well, not all carabao are great at behaving and taming, but when you tried riding them it's astonishing. Unlike horses, carabao has a broad backbone that will make your riding more exciting. He won't run fast like a horse.

I still remember my elementary febles story, where Carabao and Cow are secretly friends and they met on the river to make a batch. In the, beginning cow and carabao is wearing normal body shape. They removed their skin or their cloth then placed it on the river bank. But when they felt like some humans are coming in their way, they mediate wears their skins. But ended up they swap each other. So the carabao likes wearing fitted jeans while the cow wears lousy one.

But of course, it's not true. Cows could stand in the middle of the sun for the whole day, while carabao is water buffalo that needs a long time swimming bath. That’s why if you visit a province or village you can see black mammals playing in the dirt.

Teacher Who Teaches English Wasn’t An English Teacher

The next story I just remembered is about my English class teacher during High school. I like him for being nice and friendly when we were on its period. The thing I remembered about him is that he said he's not an English Teacher, we ask why. He’s a Pure Filipino who teaches English, then he laughs.

He left us with no explanation, of course, we're still hanging on to it. Why did he say that? He never answered that which makes me more curious and takes me years to get the message.

Well, he's not from England so he's not English, which makes sense right? He's not an English Teacher but a Teacher who teaches English.

Also, the reason why Filipino are fluent and good at English because of the education system we had. Even in Kindergarten, we have been singing English Rhymes, and all at the Grade 1 to 12 their English and related subjects.

That’s why no doubt that even Junior or Senior High here are good at constructing words because we been exposed for a very long time. Even a Filipino who can not talks English could understand the language, that’s the best exposure we had.

English-Carabao; How Could Buffalo Could Talks?

You heard the buffalo talks but never understand their maxims. The calf of the mother's cries when he was getting away from its dam.

English carabao talks about the lives of all Filipinos and us trying hard writers. The black mammals weren’t really originally hard-working but they are from the swamp enjoying their lives. Like Filipino wasn’t originally and born hearing English but most of us knew how to interact with this language.

English Carabao represents new hope. Be like water buffalo that loves to work hard. Read and learn some new words so day by day you had a new thing to discover.

I started from being like buffalo, English wasn’t native and used in our day-to-day life. Even the Tagalog wasn’t suited to our house and village we normally talk Iloco dialect. So overall Filipino is versatile that we could speak lots of different languages and dialects if we really want to learn to and it all starts from being English-Carabao speaking skills.

I just find this topic something that interests me today, that’s the secret of being versatile of Filipinos that they could adapt and learn a new language by just watching Korean drama, Japanese Anime, Thailand Series, and English Science fictions stories.

If you observed that Filipino Users here are not normally or originally using old and new English, but we could upload articles daily. It's because some of us are really using English-carabao then days and years past, we learn the correct and proper way of doing it.

Good day to you. What a beautiful write up to learn from. I also got to understand your teachers concept when he meant he wasn’t an English teacher but a teacher who teach English.

Most countries never had English language as ther native language we all had to learn and use them so as to get use to it Taking a look at some part of our country, we also have people still struggling to speak English language thereby I could also take them similar to the ones you call the English carabao over there.

And I also love to watch Filipino movies the likes of Amaya, Dysebel, and also Mara and Clara

I was laughing at Teacher who teaches English wasn’t English teacher. I get the idea the moment I read the title but If I was the same age as you when you heard it, It would be confusing to me too. Anyways, We should all appreciate Filipino’s trying so hard to communicate English, English-Carabao no matter what they call it, it was good that filipino are trying their best. Eventually they will learn from it. ♥️

Personally, I do not see anything wrong with being an English-Carabao-like speaker. We cannot expect someone to fluently speak nor glamorized the accent they have since most people here are still inclined with the Filipino language, additionally with over hundreds of dialects in the Philippines. I laughed hard about the English teacher, yeah, he isn't English because he is not in England, lol.

By being a english carabao before I learned a lot of lessons in my journey , school is one of the influencer on how I know and learned to speak in english . Also watching anime taught me a lot also. There's no engling language back then since the colonization of other countries began . With this colonization happened , they just proved that Filipinos can adopt to this international language.Philipines has hundreds of languages and yet we manage to learn English language , it's just awesome.
