Since I was young, I dreamt to enter a good university when I graduate in senior high school. It was a dream for every high school student like me to pass the entrance examination and interview of our preferred university or college. My mother frequently told me that if you have diploma, and will work in a good company. It will help you enter it.
However, not everyone is given an opportunity to study in college level because of many reasons. It is sad for a student not to enter college because his/her parents are not capable to sustain the needs. Heartbreaking to hear some testimony from our church about students who graduated with laude even if they have to work at night and study in the morning.
There are great testimonies from YouTube, Facebook and other social media platforms about students who pursued their academics despite of their low financial status. I recently watched a successful businessman who worked as Jollibee crew back then, and now owned many businesses. He made it possible because of his perseverance and belief in himself.
I am currently a grade 11 student, I plan to go to college after I graduated in senior high school. I also plan to take BS Electrical Engineering because I really like electrical stuffs. We have a cousin who graduated the same course I wanted to pursue. But, if our money lacks and cannot be able to enter college, I will ask some support from my cousins who are currently working.
I haven't told my plans to anyone yet, but my parents surely will give their support. I know our parents will not let anyone of their kids to be a strayed in somewhere place. They always want the best for their kids and education is their priority. It is not a priority, but it is their responsibility to give an education for their children. I think it is one of the rights of a child based on the law.
My friends and I are planning to get into one university, but this depends on our luck. We are not all sure whether we will all pass the entrance exam, but we are hopeful we do. Since we are just senior high school now, we want to be more optimistic because anytime a pandemic will happen again. We are all aware how much time and opportunities this pandemic got from us.
We cannot force other families to send their children to college because in the current situation we have now. The inflation keeps on rising and the market prices are very high. Though there are some increased in wages in Cavite, but barely enough to sustain the family needs. I think every children deserved to get into college.
College levels are the heaven for students like me. Reaching this phase in our academics will allows us to be engaged and hone our very skills and abilities in life. There are many things we can be improved in college including our skillset and passion in life. Most of the college students wanted to achieved something in life and that will happen in higher probability when they get college diploma.
But in some cases, college degree doesn't mean you are surely get a successful life and career. You still have to make everything possible and work hard for it. I see a lot of successful people and even famous personalities that don't have college degree yet look at the lives they have now- successful and happy. One thing is for sure for me, I want to get in college and make a difference.
Going to college has a two path of outcome when you graduate .. it's either you can have the job you want or be a tambay after you finish studying.. Many graduates now are being tambay since they can't employ on the jobs theywant..or it has a high standards for example having experience like what..haha.
All in all it depends on the person since diskarte lang yan para maging successful.
The truth is, everyone doesn't need to go to college, I don't necessarily see it as a key to a successful future. A lot of people didn't go to college and still end up successful while some that did went to college still end up not doing much in life, I guess it all depends on the individual
If you can, then go for it. It's up to a person what they want to achieve in life. There are those who pursued a degree but were not applying it for they have chosen a different path. There are those who didn't finish college but are more successful than those degree holders. It really is up to us how we want our life to be.
there are testimonies form billionaires who didn't finished college, but have a tremendous amount of wealth came from their extreme hard work and determination in life.
If and if possible please go to college and complete it ( I am an undergrad btw) and finding a decent job is hard.
It is just a blessing that I have a night job that is above the minimum now and they considered the skillset that I had acquired from years of experience.
Kahit na may Youtube, Udemy and other platforms nothing beats a school set-up. Para sa mga hindi pinalad na magkaroon ng kayamanan na mamana from parents mahirap lumaban ng patas talaga pag walang hawak na diploma parin. We may take risk and start a business pero saan makukuha yung funds to start one sympre sa trabaho parin :(
i will po. there are opportunities and advantages of having a college diploma than none. like you said po, you are blessed to have a work that pays above the minimum today.
Not all students can go to college. I think it's all a matter of everyone's expectations. Not all of us have the same desire to study. What I do believe is that once the goals have been set, we must be clear about how we will maintain our studies because if you are low-income and you think that your parents will pay your expenses, I think you will not be successful.
On the other hand, if you make a good plan based on your work and the financial aid you get, then everything is a matter of time. not luck but effort.
Yes, let's go to college. There might be people who went to college but still doesn't have a good life. It doesn't really depend on a degree and diploma. It still depend on your perseverance and competence to find a better job or be succesful in business after you graduate. Diploma and degree is just your stepping stone and it will also be a standard for you qualifications.
yes, it is for qualifications and requirement in the industry. today is hard to find and land a job without a college degree. but yes, perseverance and competence is what we also need to possess.
Our Intellectual skills depends weather we should go to college or not. People who are brilliant are advised to go to college, but when we realize this person is not doing well as we want, it's advisable to go learn a trade at an earlier stage
I also think that there is a need to go to college but we can't force everyone to do so especially those who are having difficulties. A lot of people out there are awesomely successful and wealthy without it. But, graduating in college is one of the best things to achieve in life. I'm hoping for your successful desired goals in college. College life won't be easy but I know you can do it.
yes, we cannot force and blame someone who cannot and did not attend college due to some reasons. but like you said, it is an awesome feeling and achievement in life. it cannot be taken away from us,
It is difficult to pay the huge amount of dues to the universities. That's why many students grind hard day and night to pay their dues. I advised you to have some saving for your university expenses because no one help in the times of need except family
i think the state universities in my country (ph) has offered free tuition fee. it is a good opportunity especially for poor like me. i am saving money a lil bit.
Your so blessed for having a supportive family, at isa PA Yong may makakasama Kang kaibigan ay malaking bagay din na mag encourage sayo, Lalo na pag nasa University na kayo.
if you have a plan of not pursuing college bunso, you need to consult your parents, consult first before deciding. One is not taking college because of financial problems and they can go to school on later time. Me, I decided to really graduate from college as before most of the job only accept those who have degree. I am not sure of today's requirements but if it will lead to difficulty on your part, you need to do a plan B.
One of the toxic trait that we Filipinos have is that to ba able to succeed we needed a degree, but most of the successful personality in our industry usually didn't have a degree. It's just a matter of hardwork and patience to be able to succeed in life.
Anyways goodluck on your chosen course, yoh should seek for educational assistance on your municipality I know they would offer you one.
that's true! we cannot depend our success in our degree. we have so much to learn outside the university. thank you po. i will apply for scholarship if there's an available slot.
