The ultimate guide to enhancing your vocabulary from word games for blogging
Many people are asking me why I love reading so much. To those people who have been with me for so long would testify how much time reading consumes in my life since I was young. I started my habit of reading books at the age of 10 because my aunt gave me several pocket books to deliver to my mother. I was curious why my aunt and mother are both addicted to reading pocket books. Pocket books were widely common and popular before.
I remembered my mother used to read one pocket book per day. She finished reading a whole book in just a day and moved on to the other parts. What I love about pocket books is that they have a lot of series or volumes. So you would read the entire series for several weeks. That is the time I was addicted to reading books. I know pocket books are about romance, drama and thriller, but it was an eye-opener for me. It opened my eyes and introduced me to reading.
As the day went by, my crave for reading intensified. I would like to read more books, not pocket books this time. It was novel books by several popular authors internationally like Nicholas Sparks, John Green, Stephen King, J. K Rowling, and James Patterson. I felt like the more I read, the more I became smart. Yes, that is the honest thought that I was feeling before. Well, in fairness, it becomes fruitful and evident to my essays in every exam.
But reading books became a natural part of my lifestyle everyday. When I had the opportunity to have a phone when I was in high school, I found several English dictionaries on my side. Why? You cannot expect me to know every word I read in a novel. Some of this is very hard to understand, and the only thing that would help you understand it was the dictionary. The first ever dictionary I discovered was Merriam Dictionary.
Merriam Dictionary was easy to use and you can understand the word better. There are several synonyms that would help you understand it more. One of the best features of this dictionary is the games. You can actually play in Merriam and test your vocabulary to the max. I have been using it for several years now and I know how much it helped me in every way possible. There is a game called “How Strong is Your Vocabulary?” From light, medium, hard and devilish. Surprisingly, light level now is very hard compared to its first release.
I have mentioned before that I am an avid fan of scrabble games. Who wouldn’t love a scrabble game if you are a book lover and bookworm, right? I have two scrabble board games with me and I bought them from our local market. Since my family don’t want to play with me because they always lose and they don’t like scrabble too. I connected to several strangers in the community and played with them. That’s true! I posted on my Facebook and asked them who would like to play. Then whoever they are, we would meet in a local park here.
There are several scrabble apps available on Google Play Store and you can download them. Playing it at first was hard because you are against a robot. But in other applications, you can actually play with real people. I was so freaking the first time I played because they are so good. Their words left me speechless because to be honest, I haven’t heard them at all. I guess I need to practice and read more vocabulary as well.
The next word game I played was the application game called “Text Twist.” It was very fun and you had to fill in the whole spots available there. It was actually hard when you cannot think of any word possible since my vocabulary is limited. I played it on my tablet before. Then, when my tablet didn’t function well. I lost the application. I tried to find the Text Twist on the Play Store but I didn’t find the exact application anymore. I think it was removed or something.
The last but not the least. The most famous and most popular is the “Crossword”. I know some of you already have downloaded it because the last time I checked the Words of Wonder: Crossword reached 100 millions downloads today. Just how much this crossword became a hit and even grandparents are playing this. One thing I noticed about this game is that they have friendly GUI and the words are simple to complex depending on the level you are currently playing.
If you are serious about enhancing your vocabulary so that you can use other words for your article everyday, then why don’t you start playing some word games? It would be fun and enjoyable. Thus, you can enhance your vocabulary at the same time. It is a win-win situation, isn’t it? We write everyday, we read everyday, we comment everyday and we interact with other people in English everyday. So, enhance your vocabulary to see how far your mind would use new vocabulary.
I am glad that you are all existing in my sponsors block until now. You are all a blessing to me.

Yes, I would play one from all vocabulary increasing games you've mentioned above. I'm not Bookworm, or craved, about reading Pocket books but I think now I need to be a Bookworm and it's craving too much. I'm downloading wordsCross, file size is 152 MBs, haha but its okay if this app can enhance my vocabulary.
