I'm kind of blocked today. Blocked like the AW accounts of some noisers. Like the EtherLite airdrop, which is more of an airflop at the moment. Like the road traffic, because of all the road works. We visited the steamship parade of the White Fleet, which took place again today after 2 years. All 7 paddle steamers were there and woke up the whole city with their steam whistles. The ships have been on the river for 185 years now and are an attraction for tourists and locals. A beautiful event with perfect weather, nice start in the weekend.

Today I almost walked into this spider's web. Disgusting. The spider was almost 1/2 cm tall! She got grumpy when I came closer with the camera. Don't get me wrong, I like animals, but I don't think spiders will ever be my friends. They are useful and look fascinating but I don't like them.

Mother and son I don't know the story behind this sculpture but I think the little boy will be a good swimmer one day. Flies - very unpopular, nasty insects that can be incredibly annoying. But they can also be fascinating when you look at them up close. Unfortunately, they are very skittish, so I couldn't get that close and had to use the zoom. The picture is not as sharp as I would have liked. Still, a nice hunting success. In black and white they look even more like an alien.

Lost Places I often pass this house. It stands there all alone behind its fence and is taken over by the plants. I did some research and actually found something about the house. The Villa Heimburg was built in 1895 and takes its name from the owner, writer Wilhelmine Heimburg. "Heimburg" means "home castle" and I think that's exactly what the house looks like. Look at what my parents had for a visit after years. These butterflies were plentiful in my youth, then they became fewer and fewer. In the meantime, it looks like they are doing better again. They always remind me of my childhood and I am happy that they are back. The European peacock butterfly (Inachis io) grows to about 5 cm and is found from Central Europe to Japan. Back from our trip to the city. There's nothing better in this heat than a fountain to cool down. Here you can see the famous "Pusteblumen" fountain in a pedestrian zone in Dresden. We went to the shopping centre and found the Frauenkirche made of Lego, about 4 metres high. A masterpiece. The base of the King Johann Monument in Dresden is richly decorated with representations of all the pillars of society and thus of the king. The monument was inaugurated in 1889, at a time when Saxony was a kingdom. I particularly like the embodiment of agriculture. A farmer's wife harvesting grain. Can you recognise the little blackbirds in the middle of the wine? They are about two days old now. The blackbird built its nest in the vine above the perch in my parents garden about 4 weeks ago. This week 4 young blackbirds hatched and have been crying for food ever since. They are not disturbed by the presence of humans. But no one disturbs them either. All the best, little blackbirds!

The first blackcurrant jam is ready! My parents harvested the blackcurrants yesterday and made jam. I will be able to taste it at the end of next week. Back from the woods. That was a nice 10km hike through the local forest today. Not too many people out, at least on the small paths. At the moment you can also find enough berries for a little snack in between. All in all, a very refreshing day. Enjoy the view!
