Does GOD exist? Then why is there suffering?

Some say GOD is dead, or that God didn't even exist. But, I believe that God did exist back then and that God still exists today. I believe God exists because I can see how he does things for me, and others. Let me give an example. You don't see the wind. You can't see the way it moves yet, we know it exists because we can feel the breeze hitting against our skin, blowing through our hair, and ruffling the leaves in the trees. We can hear the wind howl and make the leaves chatter. That's how we know the wind is real. So, the same can be said for God.

Lead Image

Now, one of the questions that are hardest for people to talk about, and even some Christians lose their faith about so, if God exists, why does he allow suffering, why do we have suffering? My brother lost his faith for this very reason. God made humans because he didn't want robotic creatures who followed, his every command. You may ask, why he'd want this well, when someone follows you willingly and does what you say because you asked, it brings much more glory to yourself, or in this case, God. Because it doesn't feel fulfilling for someone to always obey your orders only because they're made to do that; because it's their purpose, their job. They have no will to do so. So, someone who obeys God because they want too, it makes God much happier than a robotic creature. Humans chose, in the very beginning chose to disobey and so because of our mistakes, we have created our own suffering.

So, the final question is why does suffering still exist. Why does God allow it? There's a verse in the bible that God won't let you suffer more than you can handle with you believe in God. In other words; it'll be more than you can handle, but if you trust, and believe in God, he will guide you through it. In the story of Joseph, God allows Joseph to be sold into slavery by his own half brothers, be imprisoned, but somehow, he still ends up as second in command of all Egypt. God didn't allow these struggles because he wanted to see how Joseph would react. He knew how he'd react. These things were for Joseph, so he could see what he himself was capable of as long as he trusted to God, which he did. Another reason he did this, is so Joseph could save his family.

Israel (also known as Jacob), lived in the land of Canaan. Israel was Joseph's Father, and the reason God brought Joseph into Egypt, was because one he had been taught useful things that would be needed to be in that rank of power and he worked hard. However, there was another reason. The family of Israel was located in a place where they could be killed, as they were considered a small family at the time so, God initiated a famine and drought and joseph having gone through struggles, realized how influential and how smart he could be. So, he helped egypt become the strongest nation at the time, by making water and grain storage. This caused the family of Israel to seek help from egypt, and when they realized Joseph live there, they went there and were protected for a long period of time.

In conclusion: GOD does exist, he allows suffering to strengthen us, protect us from other things in the long run, and because of our own mistakes.

For me, God exists. Maybe I can't see him but he always make a way to feel him that he is real that he is always there for us. ๐Ÿ˜Š No matter how many hard problems that I encounter he never let me surrender and guided me to finish all of that things and that's why until now, I am here.

God undoubtedly exists, he has many names, but he is still the same GOD who gives us the strength we need every morning when we wake up, when something bad happens the blame is given to God, but when it is something good they forget to thank, in the In the world there are good and bad people and God is not responsible for the evil of the human being

Believing in God really gave me the courage to face some of my dark days. I think that just the idea of someone watching over us and willing to lend a hand is enough to give us the hope and courage we need.

I do believe in God. Kahit hindi ko siya nakikita pero naniniwala ako na nag-eexist siya. Dami ko ng answered prayers and I am so grateful. Yes, there were times na hindi nasasagot ang ibang prayers ko, I believe na may maganda siyang plano para sa'kin. Moreover, walang problema na binibigay si God sa mga tao na hindi mareresolba. Dasal at tiwala lang sa Kanya.

God exists and no one can change that in me. God suffers because of us too. Sometimes, we deserve to suffer to let us know that life is not all about happiness. It's also about being challenged and not giving up because we know God is with us

The suffering is not made by God by ut was made by humans, they are suffering due to their actions, at the beginning, humanity was given a chance to have a eternal life and no suffering but we disobey and was sent here on earth. From that moment people suffered from different problems, disasters, illness, man made actions and many more. We can't blame nor question the existence of the lord cause its our own fault.

Not 100% true. Sin is the cause of suffering. Yes, our actions (disobedience) can bring about more suffering. But look at Job - he was faithful to God but was sorely afflicted.

Suffering isn't from God. Just like what you have said, God created us with free will. Therefore, we have our own choices and decisions. We cannot control other people's thoughts as well. Sometimes, we suffer because that is the consequences of our choices. And I believe that sometimes, God will give is trials that is more than our capabilities, not because he wants us to suffer, but because He wants us to realized that without His help, we are nothing.

Three things here and they are correct, Biblical and noteworthy. First, the precise reason that we suffer is because of sin. We inherited sin from Adam and Eve, our ancestors. Though we believe and obey God's commands, we eventually die of our last illness. That's life. That is sin at work. But Jesus destroyed sin, and we have a new life now and future.

Second, Israel could have been expounded upon more thoroughly. Suffice it to say that we who believe are Israel. How do we know? Look at Galatians 3:29: "for you belong to Christ, then you are Abrahamโ€™s seed, and heirs according to the promise." That's Israel!

Third, your brother may never have believed. If we say we believe, we place 100% of our trust in Jesus, obey his commands, pick up our cross DAILY, and endure to the end. Now, you say he fell away from the faith, but maybe he is like the prodigal son and will return to God. However, we do know this from God's word: "I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand" (John 10:28). Therefore, he is either saved or not. God knows; we do not.

It is best to teach correctly or refrain from it until further knowledge and wisdom is gained.

No Kimis and all! At kahit may hinihiling ako na hindi Niya binibigay agad, I know and I trust Him, in His time and will, ibibigay Niya yun sa'kin..

Thanks for sharing this article sis.. God bless you.. o:-)

we pray for blessing but God gives us sorrow, we pray for health but he gives the unseen enemy with a corona at the moment. But still the moment I realized I was safe and I wasn't like any other people who were struggling much more than I do, I think he was still there. I also believe that not all the time he was with us, if he thinks it could destroy its plan to you, he will make a blessing in disguise in the way that we think he wasn't but the real deal he was. God blessed you, Mare.

๐Ÿ˜ god bless you too mare.

You misunderstand God. He is always present - always. However, He laughs at unbelievers and their futile attempts to call on Him in their sorrow when they don't believe in Him. He is not some magic genie in the heavens that grants wishes, as some believe.

On the other hand, God watches over His believing flock. Believers have the blessed assurance of eternal life where there is no more sin, suffering and sorrow. Though we may suffer, and we will if we duly follow Jesus, it is for our own good, our eternal reward. Look at Jesus - He was the suffering servant who was obedient unto death, even death on the cross. We are also called to suffer for His sake.
