Martha, Martha - You are Worried and Upset An interesting, short passage that is frequently glossed over by many readers of God’s everlasting word occurs in the gospel of Luke. While certainly pithy, it nevertheless offers discerners of the word profound insight into what our priorities should be as believers. The specific text reads: “As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. 39 She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. 40 But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!” 41“Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, 42 but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her” (Luke 10:38-42, NIV). The 13 and two In verse 38, Jesus and the 12 disciples are invited into Martha’s home. The text does not mention whether there were other followers among the 13 men, so we should refrain from speculation as to the total number of people in the passage. There are at least 15 including Martha, Mary her sister and the disciples and Lord Jesus. Martha’s Home We note that it was Martha’s home. Few women owned homes 2,000 years ago. And there is no mention of a husband in the story. Perhaps he had died. Maybe she had never been married and her parents, having no son as an heir, passed the home onto Martha. We simply do not know how Martha came to own the home. However, these types of homes were typically two stories, a bottom floor and a courtyard, as it were, and an upstairs section for dining and entertaining. We immediately observe Martha’s love, graciousness and trust. She invites at least 13 sweaty, smelly men who had been travelling into her abode. As was customary of the time, food and drink were prepared for travelers. Custom dictated that Martha and Mary would prepare the food and serve the guests. Lazy Mary? But notice what occurs in verse 39. We read: “She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said.” So, there was Mary, upstairs with 13 men and alone, something that was frowned upon among the Jewish customs of the time. Now imagine you and me are Martha for a minute. Martha had to prepare the fire for cooking, get her pots and pans and utensils at the ready, perhaps slaughter a lamb or a goat, cook some fish, make bread and whatever other customary foods for the men – by herself – because Mary is upstairs. It’s not like Martha could open the refrigerator and thaw a few items out in the microwave oven, heat them up in mere minutes, serve the men, and then sit at the feet of Jesus along with Mary and the disciples! Nope. She would have been busy for a few or most likely several hours! Think of it as preparing a traditional Thanksgiving Day meal with all the trimmings in your backyard for a large family. By yourself. We would be scrambling and missing the football games! Was Mary loafing? It seems that is what she was doing at face value. You or I would likely be upset with Mary for her unwillingness to assist us in preparing the amount of food and drinks that were necessary to feed such a large group. And outside and alone to boot! Distraction Let’s look at verse 40 where we read: “But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made.” Martha was distracted. Gosh, how many times have we allowed ourselves to be distracted? The cares of this world tear us away from our communion with God. We sometimes become so busy that we have no time for prayer, study or even reading God’s word. You’ve been there, I’ve been there. We can all relate to Martha’s distraction. Martha wanted things done right. She wanted to show her worthiness, her competence to Jesus and the disciples. She did not want to fail in this once in a lifetime endeavor. She sought to please others, and while there is certainly nothing wrong with that, we should not endeavor to be people pleasers just to fit in with the world. But let us look even closer and zoom in as it were. Martha comes upstairs to Jesus and asks a rhetorical question. “Don’t you care?!” Of course Jesus cared! He cares about all of us. Why? Because He loves us. Martha is perturbed that Mary is chilling out while she is working exceedingly hard to please the Lord and his followers. Maybe she is catching her breath as a large cauldron of soup heats up and the lamb cooks on a makeshift spit over an open fire. I see Martha as a hurried woman, sweating from her frantic toil, and wringing her hands with a towel. However, she spares a few minutes to complain. Now look at what Martha says: “Tell her to help me!” Whoa! **She commands the Lord of the universe!** She orders the Son of God, who created the universe, to compel Mary to get to work! How audacious. Do you remember the last time you commanded God to do something you wanted done? I certainly do. We live in a world that has created a sense of urgency within us. We do not want to wait – we want things now! We are hurried at times and wring our hands in our impatience and frustration. And by golly, we strive for things to happen instantly, as we have been conditioned to do. And when things do not go our way…well, we know how our emotions can overcome our better judgments. Jesus’ reply In verse 42 we read: “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things.” Note here that Jesus did not condemn Martha for her work. However, He does rebuke her for having her priorities wrong. Martha was “worried and upset.” In other words, she was angry at the circumstances she found herself in. Many things. What are the many things in our sphere that distract, cause us to worry, and make us upset? And how often do we let them overcome our sense of peace? The final kicker Finally, Jesus says, to Martha, “…but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.” See, Mary was listening to what Jesus had to say. It is the only one thing. **It was better.** Striking a balance Before any good work can be accomplished for the Lord, we need to listen to what God has in mind for us to do for His Kingdom. Far too often we run helter-skelter ahead of God and do things our way. When we are not doing His will, we can expect less than optimal outcomes. We need balance. We cannot always be listening or working. We can do both because we are capable under Jesus to do so if we “lean not on our own understanding.” When we listen to the Lord by reading His word, meditating on it, and praying, He will commune with us by the Spirit. And if we are listening carefully, the subsequent work we do in response to listening will be fruitful. It’s all a matter of abiding in God’s will.

I Warned You War was Coming! You did not observe the writing on the wall. Quite unfortunate, yeah? I sold all my #BCH at $1,100, as I saw the writing on the wall. And now Putin has invaded the Ukraine, just as I said would happen. #BCH is down to $260 and will fall further. Bitcoin was at $34,600 an hour ago. Most cryptocurrency is taking a steep dive, some more than 12%. It's not the hedge everyone said it was. Sorry to break the news to you. And the stock market opening bells will not be glamorous., either. Expect more inflation! China The stolen election in the USA had consequences. Under President Trump there was no wars started. Putin, knowing Biden is weak, invaded the Ukraine, something he would not have done under Trump. So what's next? Xi has got to be rubbing his greasy palms together. India and China backed the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Now that Xi is on good terms with Putin, and Biden and his monkeys are weak, watch for China to amass near Taiwan. If they attack, it is on like a bad game of Donkey Kong. Iran will get involved as well. Gold and Oil Oil is up to $103 a barrel. The UK is canceling the Nordstream Pipeline. People will freeze to death in the UK. Boris Johnson is threatening war. If you own gold, you're going to do well. It is pumping, crypto is dumping. I'm glad I got out when I did and bought pepper goodies. Bartering If things get hotter, and I truly hope they don't, you best know how to barter. I'd suggest you drop your You Tube, Korean drama's, TikTok and being preparing for the worst while praying for the best.

Mental State: No Problems, Just Solutions The majority of people run from problems in fear rather than confront their problems. But fear is far worse than the problems that confront us. In fact, God's word informs us that perfect (mature) love casts out fear. When we run from problems we behave like little children rather than responsible adults. Fight or flight This mechanism in built into us all just as our conscience is built in. We have two options here: to run away or disregard the problem(s) and hope they will go away, or we can remain, fight (if need be) and come up with a solution to problems. I'm reminded of people who hear a funny noise in their cars that pops up as a problem. Instead of locating the sound and finding a solution to the problem, they turn up their radio or stereo and believe the problem will solve itself. This is delusional thinking. Problems left without solutions become bigger problems. My perspective is this: **there are no problems, only solutions**. It makes life easier to navigate. It rids the mind from needless worry and anxiety. It is better to tackle problems than ignore them or worry. Fear - the lack of trust Many fear the virus that has changed our lives in dramatic ways. They fear losing their jobs, income stream, friends, family and relationships. Fear comes from the adversary - the devil. He and his minions do not want you to enjoy the life God intends for us. Instead, that ancient serpent looks for inroads into your mind and life. Of course, one of his favorite ways is deception. He (and the world system which he rules) deceives. Contemporary deceptions in societies today consist of, but certainly are not limited to the following: gender confusion, sexual immorality, abortion (murder of the innocent), compromise to the world system, idolatry and more. Cowering in fear does not solve problems with apt solutions. Another type of fear We need not fear the worldly, but we should fear God. To fear God is simply this: 1. to have a profound respect of the Creator of the universes and His sovereignty; and 2. possess a hatred for sin. Easier said than done, right? Our conscience will tell us when you have done something wrong. God's word The more we get into the word of God, the more the word of God gets into us and impacts our lives. But you say you don't have 30 minutes a day for this? Interesting! You have 30 minutes for TikTok, You Tube, Netflix, a coffee at Starbucks, playing video games, spending hours on read.cash and pursuing worldly things. I'm not throwing stones. I am waking you up to reality and reminding myself. The church at Pergamum Jesus is the sovereign Judge. He is judging now and is coming again for the final judgment that will determine our eternal destiny. Whether or not one believes this or not makes no difference: judgment is coming. The church of Pergamum had a huge problem, not unlike the problem we observe today: **compromise.** Back in the first century the Roman Emperors were venerated as gods. Additionally, false gods were worshipped as deities. Trade guilds mandated that merchants and buyers alike worship both the Emperor and these false deities. If a merchant or trader sought to earn income, they had to be participants or face persecution (loss of finances and derision). To be a participant, one was compelled to eat food sacrificed to idols and engage in sexual immorality. Some in the Laodicean church broke weak and worshipped these false deities, much like many worship idols today. Idolatry Who or what do you revere? Whom or what you worship is what you become. Many wrongly believe idolatry is the process of worshipping a statue. However, an idol is whatever you place before God. If an idol is your god, it is necessary to conduct some introspection on what you should do. Are celebrities your idol? Money? Games? Cell phones? Sex? Crypto? Your crush? We can make an endless list of idols! What do you spend the most time focusing on? There is your idol! Jesus explains it far better: Jesus says: "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also" (Matthew 6:21, NIV). What Jesus says Many get the wrong concept of Jesus, relying solely on His abundant mercy and grace. Far too often people are unaware that God is a jealous God and judges the heart. But listen to what He told the church at Pergamum: "Nevertheless, I have a few things against you: There are some among you who hold to the teaching of Balaam, who taught Balak to entice the Israelites to sin so that they ate food sacrificed to idols and committed sexual immorality. Likewise, you also have those who hold to the teaching of the Nicolaitans. Repent therefore! Otherwise, I will soon come to you and will fight against them with the **sword of my mouth.** **Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches**. To the one who is victorious, I will give some of the hidden manna. I will also give that person a white stone with a new name written on it, known only to the one who receives it" Revelation 3:14-17, NIV). The 7 churches in Asia Minor (modern day Turkey and Greece) were praised and rebuked by Christ. Jesus speaks the same message to the churches today as well. And by the way, **the sword is judgment**. Problems vs Solutions The problem in Pergamum was compromise, leading some to idolatry, worshipping idols (false gods) and sexual immorality. They valued the world over the Kingdom of God. The spirit of Balaam was present all over Asia Minor. It is present today. Some people worship false gods, some claim to be Jesus. The solution Jesus provided was repentance. You see, we can run from our problems in this evil world or face them head on like warriors. God will not force His will on us but **He will judge us both now and on that final Day**. In the end, we have a choice between following God in obedience and perseverance or ignoring our problems and lifting up the world as our idol. It's a choice we have to make. Jesus has drawn a red line in the sand. Make your choice today. There is a heaven and there is a hell.

Dictators are going to Dictate The Philippines has myriad pros and cons. Its beautiful landscapes and beaches, as well as the happy-go-lucky lifestyle are some of the better aspects of the country. On the other end of the spectrum, corruption and tyranny are ruining the country and keeping it in 3rd world status. But it isn't just the Philippines. Do read on. **Dictators** Duterte These types of leaders are nothing new and have existed since time began. Here in the Philippines, President Duterte is a dictator. Oh, he has ample support from a lot of the population, but his grasp on power is waning and the International Criminal Court (ICC) is hot on his heals for human rights violations. Recently, this rogue "leader" ordered barangay officials to restrain the unvaccinated from leaving their homes. Follow the link for a brief story (1-minute read): https://newsinfo.inquirer.net/1537156/duterte-to-barangay-chiefs-restrain-unvaccinated-individuals-from-going-out?utm_source=gallery&utm_medium=direct&fbclid=IwAR3doXet-D_I_7p3YYCM-BVh1riJ2-oQW7XU6Je8gh7wbapqjAkaUwNPMZA This unprecedented order is the antithesis of the freedom of mobility as mandated in the 1986 Constitution. The order reeks of Hitler's Gestapo in World War II. I don't see it boding well for the citizens, but the dupes who have been tricked into accepting the jabs will happily follow along like the dense sheep they are. Maybe by the time they are compelled to take the 4th booster they will wake up. Macron Across the pond, as it were, the dictator President of France has upped the ante on clot shot mandates. "Macron said he wanted to "piss off" unvaccinated people by making their lives so complicated they would end up getting jabbed" (Melander & Guedj, 2021). By harassing (his words, not mine) people and keeping them from the public sphere, the Dunce of French politics is receiving critical blowback even from socialists and communists. That ought to tell you something! There is such resistance that a law forcing people to get the jab was set to be voted on this week, but it had to be postponed because of numerous death threats directed at lawmakers. And by the way, the ever-arrogant Macron is up for reelection in April of this year. It will be interesting to observe how the people vote. Will they vote for freedom or more tyranny? Biden The unfairly elected Imbecile King, Joe Biden, is another dictator who routinely violates and flouts the US Constitution. He has decimated the most powerful military in the world with his vax mandates, as well as the healthcare industry, but unlike the Philippines, there is strong resistance. Conservative red states are defying the order, while Marxist blue states are swallowing the lies hook, line and sinker. If one looks at the statistics, it is the blue socialist and Marxist states that have the highest COVID infection rates. But Creepy Joe, the kid-sniffer, adamantly states that the vaccines are working. Biden's vax mandates are a mess. The Supreme Court, already weary of Biden's illegals mandates and COVID protocols, is set to rule on the legality of Joe's constitutional violations in the summer. Joe's unlawful actions have caused staff shortages in the healthcare industry and over "84 million Americans" have been adversely affected (O'Neill, 2021). Moreover, "**4.5 million people quit their jobs in November" of 2020** because of the Imbecile King's mandates (Cox, 2021). As Cox reports, "Restaurant and health-care workers were responsible for much of the surge in “quits.” It's a Choice Freedom of choice is a God-given right. If you have taken or are planning to take the jab, that is your right. Conversely, it is my right to refuse. My body, my choice. But I believe you should really get informed before you subject yourself or your loved ones to any shots to begin with or any further jabs. Sweden is already in the process of inserting a microchip in their 4th shot to "track" people. What could possibly go wrong? Better wake up! **References** Cox, J. (2021). Chicken Little Reports from World HQ Omicron! Disaster! Hospitals overwhelmed! Fear! The sky is falling! Omicron pa more! If you're anything like me and think critically, you should know by now that the latest fear test variant Omicron is again causing widespread panic in some parts of the world. Others? Not so much. Do read on if you want to take your blinders off and live free again. Just the facts The Omicron variant is far less lethal than any of the previous variants of COVID. The symptoms are very much like a severe cold. Nevertheless, a 3rd jab has been pushed to offset this new variant. The fear mongering crowd is panicking. Meanwhile, the mad scientists are working feverishly on, you guessed it, a 4th jab. Israel is leading the pack with the US and China trailing not far behind. Heather Mac Donald of *The New York Post* states: "The data out of South Africa, after five weeks of Omicron spread, suggest that Omicron should be a cause for **celebration**, not fear. Its symptoms are mild to nonexistent in the majority of the infected" (Mac Donald, 2021). https://nypost.com/2021/11/27/omicron-variant-symptoms-unusual-but-mild-says-south-african-doctor/ But the booster shots are not as effective against Omicron as previously thought. Well, we all should have known this, because the narrative has shifted more times than a jar full of pennies in a Baja 500 race car since the two weeks to flatten the curve lie. Lyin' Joe Biden The most popular president in US history (what a joke) Joe Biden adamantly stated he would crush the COVID-19 pandemic. But we all know politicians speak with a forked tongue and lie through their teeth. Sneaky Joe recently stated that the Federal government can do nothing to halt the spread of the virus. I've been saying this for 2 years. Why? Simply because no respiratory virus has EVER been eradicated by a vaccine, much less a series of mRNA shots. Feel free to fact-check that at your own leisure. Other world leaders and the chorus in the media and worldwide agencies are also pulling our strings with another dose of fear. Have you bothered to see who is dying from COVID and its variants? Let me give you a hint: people in their 80's and those with two or more ***comorbidities***. Oh, and then there are those professional athletes and jab pushers of the experimental drug dying in droves. 28 professional soccer players have died on the pitch after receiving the 3rd dose. A New York Times editor in Korea just keeled over a day after his 3rd jab. The cause of all of these deaths? Heart attacks induced by the jabs. But Joe and other world cronies insist it is the unvaccinated who are spreading the virus and that is an outright lie. Israel is 98% fully vaccinated and the virus is spreading like splinters in a Kansas tornado. You can't make up these disparities between the narrative and the facts. Oh, and the 4th jab will likely come with a microchip to merely "prove you have been repeatedly jabbed." Yeah, right. Mandates Biden's mandates have forced hospital staff to be fully vaccinated in order to remain employed. Well, that didn't work. Why? At a minimum, 15% of nurses have been fired or forced to quit their careers because of their refusal to take the clot shot. There is your overwhelmed hospitals, folks. According to the New York Times, "In the Army, 468,459 active-duty soldiers, or 98 percent, have received at least one dose of the vaccine. The Navy has inoculated 342,974 members, with roughly 1.7 percent still holding out" (Steinhauer, 2021). All of the holdouts and those refusing the vax will be discharged. Unfortunately, the US has lost some of its finest commanders and up to 100 well-trained pilots. All this when China and Russia are invading countries. Dr. Doom One of the top criminals involved with the entire COVID-19 fear mongering is none other than Dr. Fauci. Mind you, he is not a physician whatsoever but rather an immunologist. He has a PhD. There's a big difference between the two. Dr. Fraudchi (as I like to call him) has been a failure for most of his life, along with being an uncharged criminal roaming free and managing the world crises for the globalists. Simple research bears out my statement and I'll give you a heads up on just a few major failures that warrant an arrest and a long prison sentence. Here's a link if you dare or care to read listing Fauci's screwups. https://thefederalist.com/2021/01/13/a-short-history-of-how-anthony-fauci-has-kept-failing-up-since-1984/ Wake up! One question you should be asking yourself is: how long will I allow myself and loved ones to live in a perpetual state of fear? **The sky is not falling**. You do not need to live in fear. Fear is a choice. If you feel safer taking the jabs, by all means do so. But one thing to keep in mind before subjecting yourself to experimental doses of shots is this: no phase 3 clinical trials will be completed until late 2025 at the earliest. Turn off your television sets. They are devices for spreading propaganda and fear. Chicken Little media puppets are doing the Devil's work. There are more things to be concerned about in 2022, such as the faltering worldwide economy. Better to be concerned how you will eke out a living after the global economic crash. @MarielB22

A Christmas to Remember or Forget? A lot was accomplished over the Christmas season this year. Many good memories and a few I'd prefer to forget were parts of our Christmas 2021. I sincerely hope that your Christmas went extraordinarily well and that you were able to celebrate with family and friends and enjoy some good food. Typhoon Odette This is one of the memories I'd prefer to forget. Over 400 people lost their lives right before Christmas. Scores of people remain missing, which doesn't bode well, especially for worried family members. The memories of the survivors will be forever etched in their minds each and every Christmas as they recall the loss of loved ones and mourn. I really don't want to go into details as to what my husband and I did for the victims, but suffice it to say we had a bigger Christmas season expense helping others out. The image above is from a sister in Christ and their church in Bohol that was totally destroyed. Husband? Yes. I finally got married. It was a small but solemn wedding on the beach. As far as the honeymoon goes, we have delayed that until February, as other important matters have arisen that require our attention. He has officially moved into my place but kept his place in Manila for now. At least there will be no more traveling except when we go on our honeymoon. We are also considering a move and buying a condo, though I am reluctant to move away from my friends and beach life. As a consequence, we are considering a place in Tagaytay overlooking the Taal volcano. Christmas 2021 Our Christmas plans did not all go according to our wishes. Our son became ill and had to be taken to the doctor twice. We Filipinos prefer to celebrate Christmas on Christmas Eve. That was our plan, but by 9 p.m we were too exhausted to follow through because of our sick son. Christmas Day was fast and furious. Our son was feeling much better and gladly ripped his gifts open. He received plenty of things from "Santa" and loved his bike. We got a few good laughs in when he opened his gifts of clothing. He just tossed them aside and went looking for toys. Not all gifts are shown. I received some very special things as well and am thankful for all of them. Fireworks What was surprising to us was the dire lack of fireworks this year. Typically there are so many you kind of just shrug them off and don't even look outside. This year we saw nothing. Apparently there was one small display but we missed it as we were asleep. I really do not understand why the government has to stick its nose into everyone's business as it pertains to fireworks. Sure, people are injured every year, mostly due to carelessness. But why punish the entire country for the safety of a few? As far as I am concerned, it's like being forced to wear a diaper, not because you need one, but because other people have conditions such as incontinence, mobility impairment, severe diarrhea or dementia. But I digress. Work We were saddled with work right before the holidays. I wasn't able to assist my husband much because of the above-mentioned illness. The extra income sure helped a lot. Our good friend in town owns a laundry. It's been open for 3 years now. It is a modern facility that does both family and commercial work for resorts and hotels in the area. We will be assisting him and his partner as they just purchased 30 new commercial washing machines and 30 new commercial dryers. Hubby will be supervising the newly hired crew along with one of the co-owners. They are opening a second laundry location. Meanwhile, I'll be writing for our clients who are trickling in again. 2022 There are no definitive plans for New Year's Eve or day. Hopefully out nearby city will have a fireworks display. Other than that, we are planning a simple meal and some leisurely time on the beach. Let's all hope and pray that 2022 will be a better year for all and that we will be able to move on from this overhyped pandemic. An amusing meme crossed my Facebook timeline and it read: "Merry Crisis and a Happy New Fear." Both are true. The truth behind the meme was not lost on me. Overall, I had a Christmas to remember. I remain thankful to Christ Jesus who brought my family and others through their various trials. I'll enter 2022 with my head lifted up and with a positive attitude. I hope you will join me in in this positivity. Advance Happy 2022!

@MarielB22

I Hope You're Happy - a Rebuke There's a popular idiom that reads: "One bad apple spoils the whole basket." While this may be a fanciful saying, it is the truth. The same applies to other fruits and vegetables, but fruit and veggies are not the topic. Instead, bitterness, vindictiveness and being mean-spirited are. Bitterness God's word tells us something important about bitterness: "Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice" (Ephesians 4:31 , ESV). Rick Warren, the author of "The Purpose Driven Life", stated: "It’s not just what you eat that matters, **it’s what eats you**. You can have all the right macrobiotics and organic food, but if your body is filled with resentment, worry, fear, lust, guilt, anger, **bitterness**, or any other emotional disease, it’s going to shorten your life.” Here we are in the Christmas season and some of you are so bitter that you drive people away not only from yourself but from the platform. You seek revenge on good people to satiate your bitterness. But I have news for those of you who ascribe to this emotional mentality, your bitterness will come back upon you and your regrets will not alleviate your pain nor bring you peace. Take that to the bank and cash it in. Vindictiveness Again, God's word, which is infallible and inerrant tells us: "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires" (Galatians 5:22-24, ESV). I didn't see vindictiveness included. Many on this platform possess the complete opposite of the fruit of the Holy Spirit. Your eyes dart to and fro, seeking who you may harm. Those of you who do, and I could name a handful of names but will not, will receive your just recompense on the Day of the Lord, unless you repent. He sees your malicious gazes and knows your heart. Do not be misled and think for a moment that what you do in secret is not known. I am ashamed of my vindictive Filipinos, who are unable to accept the success of others on this platform. Also, those of you who side with them from wherever you hail from. I say this to your collective shame. and rebuke you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. He sees all, hears all, and knows all that you think and do. You only fool yourself if you believe otherwise. Mean-spirited Much could be said about this vicious emotion and its outward actions. A mean-spirited person is one whose natural impulse is to cause harm or trouble for others. Sure, all of us can be mean-spirited at times, but I speak to those of you who are habitually mean-spirited, much like Ebenezer Scrooge in the classic *A Christmas Carol*. Mean-spirited people are not nice to be around. Many who have rejected God are habitually mean-spirited. If you presently possess this damaging emotion, here are some verses to consider: Our mean spirit wants to seek revenge; but Jesus says to forgive (Matthew 6:14–15). • Our mean spirit wants to lift itself up; but Jesus says to seek humility (Matthew 23:12). • Our mean spirit seeks to be first; but Jesus says we are blessed if we choose to be last (Mark 9:35). • Our mean spirit seeks to want to fight with others; but Jesus says, “Blessed are the peacemakers” (Matthew 5:9). • Our mean spirit loves to gossip; but the God's word says to guard our mouths (Proverbs 13:3). • Our mean spirit is rude; but Jesus says our speech should be gracious (Colossians 4:6). https://biblia.com/bible/esv/Matt%206.14%E2%80%9315 https://biblia.com/bible/esv/Matt%2023.12 https://biblia.com/bible/esv/Mark%209.35 https://biblia.com/bible/esv/Matt%205.9 https://biblia.com/bible/esv/Prov%2013.3 https://biblia.com/bible/esv/Col%204.6 Closing Because of the aforementioned commentary on these topics, one of the more popular preachers and teachers is leaving this platform in January. I hope you mean-spirited people are happy about it. But the good news is that the righteous Jesus has rewarded him with a church right on the beach. Hence, all the bitterness, vindictiveness and mean-spirited behaviors directed towards him worked out well for him. I admonish you to nevertheless turn from your wicked ways and learn how to live in a different manner. Jesus is able and willing to transform even the most bitter, vindictive, and mean-spirited person into a Spirit-filled disciple. Don't you think this would be a great season to begin that transformation?

The Sin of Jealousy There is a lot of jealousy on this platform. It's really a shame. Some individuals do not like the position or status of others and are envious or jealous because they do not possess what another person has.  Unfortunately, the vast majority comes from members from the Philippines, my beloved country, and particularly they are women. They are jealous of friendships that some users have, the amount of subscribers an individual has, their content, raw tips given and to whom, and more. These types of individuals tend to be control freaks, narcissistic, pleasers of self, sociopathic, and attention seekers. To maintain their sense of self and pride, they hide behind a façade of fake kindness, love and/or charity and giving. They are typically habitual liars as well.  Any rational person may observe that people who possess this personality need help. If they are not Christians, they should seek psychiatric counseling. If they are Christians, they need counseling from a pastor or Christian counselor. Either way, they tend to be ticking time bombs. One such user, who will go named, readily admits to this instability, and her pride is substantial. **God and jealousy** God is a jealous God and is deserving of all praise and honor. Unfortunately, some **people's God is money**. A casual glance at just titles of articles that appear on read.cash bears this truth out. But jealousy among humanity is a sin. God's word informs us that we are to have the type of mature love that God has for us. We read: “Love is patient, love is kind. **It does not envy**, it does not boast, it is not proud. **It is not rude**, **it is not self-seeking**, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs” (1 Corinthians 13:4-5). However, the vast majority of users on this platform are not Christian. Just read a handful of random articles and this will be obvious even the most simplistic minded person, even a kid.  **More, more, more, me, me, me** I observe a lot of this type of content on here and that is precisely why I rarely comment on posts.  What I will state is that being jealous of others is an indication that an individual is not satisfied with what God has provided. This may consist of social status, wealth, material possessions, standing in the community, et cetera. Again, this is a sin of a great magnitude, as it hardens a person's heart to the point that they can never know Jesus as their Savior. Oh, sure, they may come across as Christians, but their other articles deny their feigned belief. God's word informs us us to be content with what we have, for God will never fail or forsake us. If he keeps watch even on the sparrows and lilies of the field, will He not supply your needs? Indeed, He will. And whatever those needs are, He will meet, but He forsakes the greedy and those who have hardened their hearts towards Him. Admonishment I warn the readers of this posting to put away jealousy and be content with what you have. Do not harden your heart and suffer the eternal consequences of an eternity apart from God.

God or Satan - Who Controls the Weather? Typhoon Rai (Philippines Odette) devastated the Philippines with the most powerful typhoon of 2021. The Philippine government is reporting 12 dead. However, the *New York Post* (a more reliable source) is reporting 32 deaths. But the counting has just begun as Odette has left the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR). Odette destroyed Christmas for multiple thousands upon thousands of Filipino people. The government of the Philippines is known to downplay deaths and injuries when disasters occur. For example, on November 8, 2013, super Typhoon Haiyan (local Yolanda) struck the Philippines with gusts as strong as 315 km/h. Tacloban city, in Leyte province of the central Philippines, was hit the hardest. A police official by the name of Chief Superintendent Elmer Soria estimated 10,000 deaths occurred and he was sacked for his prediction. As it turns out, the man was not far off from his estimate. The government was reporting around 3,000 dead. In the end, in excess of 6,300 people lost their lives and another 1,061 were declared missing. Governments lie to protect their own skin, **but God does not lie.** God is in total control The Bible informs us that God is in control of the world. Climate Change alarmists are propagandists for the United Nations and the globalist elite who seek to place a carbon tax on those far less wealthy than they are. The adherents of Climate Change worship at the altars of Al Gore, Greta Thunberg, and the UN. Nary a one of these people know God. Neither do they know that nothing occurs in our world and in the universe without God's approval. Through His divine providence, God provides for and protects those who belong to Him through Christ Jesus, but He also allows Satan, demons, and all of humanity to exercise their limited will to commit acts of sin, evil, and wickedness. **God controls the weather, not Satan**. Biblical proof of God's control "Moses replied, “When I have gone out of the city, I will spread out my hands in prayer to the Lord. **The thunder will stop and there will be no more hail**, so you may know that the earth is the Lord’s" (Exodus 9:29, NIV). He controls the skies and the rain (Psalm 77:16-19). God controls even the lightning (Psalm 18:14). Gos sustains the entire universe (Hebrews 1:3). Satan's limited control Satan is not divine but rather is a fallen angel, booted from heaven because of his pride. Though he was one of the more cherished and powerful angels, he wanted to be God. The Bible states: "Its tail swept a third of the stars out of the sky and flung them to the earth. **The dragon** stood in front of the woman who was about to give birth, so that it might devour her child the moment he was born" (Revelation 12:4, NIV). This verse is referencing Satan and one-third of his angels (demons) who followed his devious plan and desire to serve him rather than God who created them. They were kicked out of heaven before Adam and Eve were created, and Satan, that ancient serpent, was in the Garden of Eden. His plan was to thwart God's plan and it was Satan who enticed Eve to sin, and then Adam followed in sin thereafter. At present, Satan maintains access to heaven from time to time, but this will cease during the middle of the tribulation period of the last days. Satan's opposition to God's plan to redeem fallen humanity has been readily obvious since the dawn of human history, and it was distinctly clear in Herod's attempt to kill the baby Jesus, whom he saw as a threat to his kingship (Matthew 2:7–13). As in the case of Job, Satan is only able to control the weather with God's permission. Remember Let's remember that God is always in control of every circumstance in each of our lives. In His omniscience, He knew every detail regarding each of our lives before He created us. God's timing and His plans always succeed. And while we may not know or understand why He does what He does, we will know these mysteries when we get to heaven. Finally, there can be no meaningless suffering for any **true believer** in Christ Jesus, whether the suffering is caused by humanity or by a natural occurring event. Again, we may not always know why evil acts or natural disasters occur, but we can rest assured that in all our trials and tribulations God is working all things together for His glory and for our everlasting good. How do we know this? Read this and be at peace "**I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us**. For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed. For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God. **We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time**. Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption to sonship, the redemption of our bodies. For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have? But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently. In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God. **And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who[ have been called according to his purpose**" (Romans 8:18-28, NIV).

Paul's Missionary Newsletter Missionaries all over the world send reports back to their respective churches or the person(s) sponsoring them to keep them up to date with the latest news of their missionary work. They may inform them of struggles or ask for money for projects to help local churches. Missionary journey information The Bible tells us that Paul made at least three missionary journeys over a period of about 10 years. One thing to keep in mind is that in all of these journeys he walked on rough Roman roads and at times took boats that placed him in grave danger. Though the Romans had pretty much cleared the Mediterranean Sea of pirates, some remained and roamed the area looking for victims to rob and/or kill. And then there was the weather to consider. During the winter months, travel by boat was treacherous. Back then boat captains sailed as close to the coastline as possible, but in the winter heavy fog prevented safe navigation. Even in the summer months, voyages across the open sea were unpredictable, as storms could suddenly disrupt vessels and sink them. This even happened to Paul when he was being sent to Rome as a prisoner. All prisoners and crew made it safely to shore, however. Scholars estimate that over the above-mentioned decade of missionary work preaching the gospel of Christ, Paul travelled some 20,000 kilometers (12,428 miles) on foot. To give you an idea of that distance, picture in your mind walking from Los Angeles, California to Manila, Philippines. Brief history of Paul's first journey During Paul's first missionary journey, found in Acts chapters 13 and 14, Paul and Barnabas set sail with John Mark as their assistant from around 46 to 48 A.D. Their first stop was Cyprus. Acts 13 records that they made it to Salamis in Cyprus, and preached the word of God in the Synagogues of the Jews. Guests were often allowed to speak after the ceremonies and this is when Paul preached the gospel to the Jews, then, when rejected or kicked to the curb, he went to the Gentiles and preached the good news of the gospel. Second journey During the second journey, Paul and Barnabas were in Antioch (modern day Turkey). Some men were preaching that Gentiles had to undergo circumcision to be saved. A spat broke out between Paul and Barnabas which led them to go their separate ways. Paul’s second missionary journey lasted from about 49 to 52 A.D. and is recorded by Luke in Acts chapters 16-18. It was during this journey that Paul wrote 1st and 2nd Thessalonians, because the church was being persecuted and he wanted to encourage them. It should be noted that none of Paul’s three journeys were easy or without persecution, but his journey to Jerusalem was nothing but considerable pain and suffering. Around 55 A.D. Paul made his way to Jerusalem where he would be “bound hand and foot" by the Jews and given over to the Gentiles (Acts 21:10). His purpose was to bring money that had been collected by the church in Philippi to help the poor in Jerusalem. Newsletter **Paul's newsletter is the book of Philippians**, written after his third missionary journey. It's a short book of four chapters. He wrote the book from Rome where he was in prison for two years. The Jews had accused Paul of bringing Gentiles into a part of the Temple where Gentiles were not allowed and a riot broke out. Paul was arrested by the Roman soldiers and bound and beaten. This was not permitted to happen to Roman citizens. After this, they began to question Paul. Knowing the Jews were planning to assassinate Paul, he appealed to Caesar. By the way, while Paul was in in Ephesus on his third trip (for about 3 years), he wrote 1st and 2nd Corinthians from around 53-55 A.D. to the people of Corinth, a port city full of debauchery (as most port cities are even to this day). Paul's message to the Philippians An average reader could read the entire book in 30 minutes or less. Anyway, remember he is in prison at this time. What one might find interesting is the fact that **Paul mentions joy or rejoicing 16 times** in the letter. Keep in mind he was under constant guard by Roman soldiers. No TV, phones or anything to do, he preached the gospel while in prison. One oft-misquoted verse In Philippians 4:13, Paul writes: "I can do all this through him who gives me strength." I see this verse misquoted so often it is heartbreaking. Many believe that they can accomplish anything simply because they are Christians. **This is not true**. For example, notice the word strength. If this verse actually meant "all things", as some imply, let's take an example and see if it is true. Let's say you go to the gym believing you can do anything because of the "strength" God provides us. Now try bench pressing 350 pounds and see what happens. You'd likely be fortunate not to die or at least have your chest caved in! No, what Paul was saying in this verse was he could either abound or go hungry for the sake of preaching Jesus. In other words, he was able to adjust to any circumstance set before him, whether beatings, imprisonment or assassination attempts. In fact, **he rejoiced in these many trials**. Closing How about you and I? Are we even willing to walk next door to tell others about Christ? If and when we are persecuted, do we whine and cry out or do we rejoice, knowing Christ also suffered, as did all of the apostles? I'll let you to think this over the next time you face any trial in your life. By the way, the Bible does not tell us how Paul died. But while there is no definitive, historical proof, scholars believe that Paul was likely beheaded by the Romans, under Emperor Nero, either in May or June of 68 A.D. Interestingly enough, Nero died by suicide on June 9th of the very same year. My friends, let us, like Paul, the greatest missionary in history, be willing to preach the gospel of Christ Jesus, endure hardships, and in all things, be joyful and rejoice.

Never Buy a Phone from Lazada Anyone who has ever bought something from Lazada or Shopee has been scammed, ripped off or received the wrong or a damaged item. That is the downside of online shopping. You can find some good deals on either of those shopping sites, but buyer beware is all I can say. China Most of the items on Lazada and Shopee come from China. They are cheap, and all are counterfeit items or, if you will, US or Japan or Korean knockoffs. I admit I have bought a few great items that came from China, but the vast majority are worthless. Like my fiancee always says, "If it sounds too good ton be true it is likely because it is." My friend My friend works at the beach resort near my home. She has a boyfriend from the UK. They live about a 3-minute walk from my place. Anyway, her boyfriend gave her 8,000 pesos to buy a new phone, because her Oppo is 4 years old already. But it's in perfect condition - no scratches, dents or anything. The only downside to it is that it has only 16gb of storage space. Her older smartphone is an Opportunity A3s. Anyway, let's call her Gina so I can protect her identity. Gina likes to buy primarily from Lazada when she shops online. So she gets the idea that she can buy a smartphone there and save 6,000 pesos to shop elsewhere in town. Bad mistake! The phone arrived as promised and man is it a cheap counterfeit. The only thing it is good for is a paper weight. The camera sucks sour grapes, the screen resolution is horrific, and since it's made in China, it tracks your every move and attempts to keep you away from Google Play to download apps. Her dilemma Now Gina has a dilemma. She has 6,000 pesos left but she needs a good phone and doesn't have enough money to but a decent new one from a reputable source in town. Furthermore, she can't ask her boyfriend for more money because of her shyness and her mistake. She told me he might think she was trying to trick him out of his money and that was not the case. But foreigners think differently than us Filipinos. Our solution She offered to sell me the phone for 2,000 pesos but I bargained with her for 1,500 because it's only 15 gb of storage. So later today or early tomorrow we are going to town to buy her a new phone for around 7,000. She may wait till tomorrow so she can use her tips to buy the phone my fiancee has, the Opppo A15s. The lesson NEVER buy a phone from Lazada or Shopee. **Never**. Even the iPhones are fake. Be careful when shopping online. I am a lot more careful nowadays.

The Religious Cult of Iglesia ni Cristo I have some sour news and yet encouraging news for those who belong to the above titled "church." Quite simply, it is a religious cult. Cults do not lead people to the Jesus Christ of the Bible, but rather to another Jesus and another gospel (2 Cor. 11:1-4; Gal. 1:8,9). Defining a cult From an evangelical Christian perspective, a cult is any group or organization that deviates from the orthodox teachings of the historic Christian faith being derived from God's word (the Bible), and which was confirmed through the ancient ecumenical creeds centuries ago. Cults are typically very manipulative. Their leaders demand total commitment and loyalty from their followers, even to the point that they must abandon their family members for the sake of the religious organization if they will not join the cult. **We find both of the above paragraphs to be true of the cult of Iglesia ni Cristo**. So let's look at some history of this far-reaching organization which is primarily found in the Philippines. Iglesia ni Cristo history Iglesia ni Cristo was founded by Felix Manalo in the Philippines in 1914. Today, in nearly every city or province, one may see one of these large blue colored structures dominating the landscape. As every Filipino knows, the name Iglesia ni Cristo is Tagalog for "Church of Christ." At any rate, Manalo was once a Catholic who abandoned that faith, then moved on to various Christian denominations, and even to another cult: the Jehovah's Witnesses. Finally, fed up with all of them, he started his own church, the above named Iglesia ni Cristo. When a rift and discord in the church came about in 1922, Manalo began claiming to be God’s prophet in an effort to amass his power and re-assert his leadership over the church. **Manalo was a false prophet, such like his grandson today.** Now let's pause for a moment and define the doctrine of Christology. Christology Christology is the Doctrine of Christ Jesus. We can substitute doctrine for the word teaching or the words truthful teaching. Christianity differentiates itself from all other world religions in that Jesus Christ is absolutely central in the Christian faith. This is to say that without Jesus as the sole head of the Church, there simply is no church. The Bible teaches us that Jesus was truly **man** and truly **God.** Yes, it's a mystery to us, but one day in glory we will know precisely how this is true. Numerous Bible verses recognize worship as being due to God, that is, to Deity alone. For example, when Jesus was being tempted by Satan in the wilderness, one of His retorts to the Devil was: "Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only" (Matthew 4:10). Therefore, as believers in the risen Lord who shed his blood for the payment of our sins, we are to worship no other "god" but rather God alone in the Persons of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Unfortunately and sadly, Iglesia ni Cristo teachings actually deny the divinity of Jesus Christ (as do all cults and false religions), and they also argue that Jesus was **created** by God and enabled to do miraculous works by God. **But the Bible tells us otherwise**: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning" (John 1:1-2, NIV). Then they go on and deny the doctrine of the Trinity (Father, Son and the Holy Spirit). They further claim that the Holy Spirit **is an impersonal force**. Additionally, they assert that the Christian church in its current form has apostatized, and that the Iglesia ni Cristo is the reinstatement of the true church that was lost in the first century; and this by means of God’s last messenger, Felix Manalo—the founder of Iglesia ni Cristo. These are the signs of a cult, my friends. The above paragraph details just some of the false teachings of the cult of Iglesia ni Cristo. False teachings Listed here are the primary teachings of the cult of Iglesia ni Cristo: • They believe that one must hear the gospel from authorized Iglesia ni Cristo messengers and ministers. • They believe the official name of the church is “Iglesia ni Cristo.” Other names are not the true name of the church and, therefore, false churches. • They believe a person must be a member of an Iglesia ni Cristo church and be water baptized to be saved. • They believe people must avoid eating dinuguan, which is pork blood stew, a Filipino delicacy. • Their members must avoid joining trade unions. • Their members must avoid court sessions. • They must vote in blocs. • They are under compulsory church attendance. • They must give tithes to the church. If an adherent or follower of this cult does not abide by the above listed regulations or teachings, they cannot be saved. This is a lie from the very pit of hell. At present, Eduardo V. Manalo leads the false church and numerous scandals have plagued the church organization. Rather than detail them here, you may follow the link at the end of this article. Conclusion As Bible believing Christians we must reject all false teachings, and instead “earnestly contend for the faith which was once and for all delivered to the saints” (Jude 3). Furthermore, as faithful Christians, we must be vigilant regarding the teachings of false messiahs and cultic offshoots of Christianity, such as the Iglesia ni Cristo. Of a necessity, we must be well-grounded in God's word so that we can spot these false teachers and blind leaders of the blind right away. We must also realize that the individuals who are trapped in this specific cult require the salvation that can only be found in Jesus Christ—the only Son of God—just as much as we did when we were lost in our sin. Therefore, we should pray for them, show them the Scriptures, and make every effort to confront them in the spirit and love of Jesus. Unexpected Work = More Christmas Spending If you had a choice to write on read.cash and make a few dollars a day or write for a living and make $75 or more a day, what would you choose? Obviously, the latter, right? Well, that is precisely why I haven't posted anything for a couple of days. I have been busy writing for some regular clients we have Clients Aside from my mini sari sari store, I also write professionally with my fiancee's writing business. Work had been okay and we were making about $75 a day writing various content. Then all of a sudden we were swamped with requests from clients. My fiancee, who thinks this platform is a complete waste of his time, stayed up for 20 hours straight editing a doctoral thesis of 140 pages, then wrote some content for a winery in Napa Valley, California. I pleaded with him to get some sleep, but like the hardhead he is, he just continued to drink coffee and work. Every once in a while he would stand up and stretch, walk outside for a few minutes, and then get right back to work. I really don't know how he does it. Meanwhile... While he tackled the above-mentioned, I edited a film review, wrote some content for a man who has an online store and who sells survival gear, and also wrote some content for a real estate company in Texas. But with our young son, I had to stop here and there and ensure he was taken care of properly first and foremost. Thankfully, he was content to play with his toys and watch videos on You Tube Kids with the tablet we bought for him last month. Now my fiancee is writing a journal article for an educational website about effective learning online during the pandemic, while I write this article. He refuses to eat because he wants to finish by 5 p.m. and submit it for a peer review process. The payoff Not to brag, but the payoff has been fantastic. He made $425 for editing the doctoral dissertation and $100 for the winery article. He will make $130 for the educational website plus incentives each time someone purchases his content. My payoff was much smaller. I made $40 for the film review edit, $55 for the survival gear content, and $90 for the real estate content. Our total payout is $840 for two days of writing. Our Christmas plans We were going to eat our Christmas dinner at the beach resort near our home. However, yesterday he looked at the menu and said he wasn't interested in it and that the prices were too high for what they were selling. Therefore, I just returned home from buying groceries. I purchased my traditional Filipino foods and his US foods. Instead of the traditional Filipino midnight celebration on Christmas Eve, we will skip that because the baby will be sleeping. Instead, we will open our gifts on Christmas morning and eat our dinner around 2 or 3 p.m. The meal(s) My meal and his will be different. But we will share a little of the other's food. For example, I am making chocolate cupcakes on Christmas Eve while he is following his family tradition of baking a cake for Jesus. Of course, as Christians, we are well aware Christ wasn't born on Christmas Day. My meal will include spaghetti (which he has always found to be ridiculous), pancit, roast pork, some letchon for my son, vegetables, and macaroni salad. His meal is completely different. He will have ham, mashed potatoes with gravy, sweet yams topped with marshmallows, green beans and the cake. He is also going to bake come homemade Texas style biscuits. Anyway, we usually eat a slice of cake for breakfast after our morning prayer. Finally, if there is no writing tomorrow to be completed, we will buy some Christmas gifts and dine out for lunch. We have been blessed and our thanksgiving is ever raised to the ears of the Lord our God. May you too have a Merry Christmas!

Two Raves and a Couple of Rants If life was perfect we'd never have to grumble or complain. But as far as I am concerned, that would take the meaning out of the joy of all the good experiences of life, that is, they would be greatly diminished. The problems we face in life are not only meant to test our patience, but also to help us to think critically insofar as how we can overcome them and learn from them. Rave This past week has been a series of ups and downs, some humorous, some not so much, **but they all taught me things**. About a year ago, I bought this pink pig piggy bank (say that 5 times!) from the market for like 50 pesos (a dollar). My fiancee laughed at me for buying it, remarking how utterly ridiculous it looked. It's been my habit since the purchase of that chubby little piggy bank to toss my coins in it whenever I come home from the market or from shopping somewhere. Yesterday, while bored, I decided to dump the coins out and count them. Much to my surprise there was over 6,000 pesos (about $130) in there! Somewhat excited, my plans for a Christmas gift for our son came immediately to mind: I would buy him a new bike. And that is precisely what I did yesterday. Here's a picture of it. The joy on his face warmed my heart. My fiancee and I taught him how to peddle it and now he wants to ride it to the market. HaHa! Rant As usual, I was doing some online shopping this past week. I came across an ad on Facebook. It featured 4 Christian t-shirts for 999 pesos (about $19 to $20). I admit that I rarely ever buy anything from a sponsored ad on FB, but I know my man has been looking for some Christian t-shirts, all to no avail. If you see this ad come across your timeline, DO NOT buy from them. They are scammers and I mean big time scammers who will block you when you complain about their items. If you see the image below, be forewarned and do nor buy. They change the name of their store quite often so remember the images if nothing else. Well, when I clicked on the ad, Messenger popped up asking for my name address, and blah, blah, blah. Plus, they wanted to know what size I wanted. I told the hardheads **4 times that I wanted size 3X**, because my man is a big dude. The person assured me that the #X shirts were **US size**. So, 5 days later the items arrived COD and I was so excited that I woke him from his nap to give him the shirts as an early Christmas present. He quickly grabbed one and tried it on. The sadness in his eyes broke my heart. The shirt was more like a large, if that. In fact, the shirts fit me and I only weigh 50 kilos. Rave As I mentioned, yesterday we went into the capital of our province about 4 kilometers away. About 1.5 km away is a PNP and military checkpoint because of the (ahem) pandemic. There wasn't a single official there. This meant traffic wasn't backed up and it was thus smooth sailing all the way into town. Then, we went and bought the above-mentioned bike and about 1,500 pesos worth of other things we wanted or needed. No lines, no hassles, just a scan of our QR code and we were in. Afterwards, we went two buildings down to the supermarket to buy some food before the Christmas rush. We were expecting a long line of customers, but the place was almost empty - and on a Saturday at that! We spent 5,500 pesos and went home exhausted from the heat, but we are now prepared for our Christmas meal. Rant 24 days ago I received a call from a certain woman named Gie who was from Globe Telecom. Presently, we have their fiber line and plan and get 30 mbps download and 24 mbps upload. She was offering us a 50 mbps plan and 35 upload for a couple hundred pesos (about $5 more) for an upgrade. Plus, she promised a free Smart TV device to stream from our TV (which we never turn on anyway), 3 months of Discovery, and 3 months of HBO Go. Well, the gal would not allow a word in for me to ask questions, so I handed the phone over to my man. He quickly got to the point and got her attention. "Hey," he began, "pipe down and let me do some talking." I was a little embarrassed but I know as a Texan he doesn't play around. He's kind but firm. She began to gab again and he cut her off again. "Listen, I'm going to tell you one more time and then I am going to hang up. DO YOU UNDERSTAND ME?" He asked her a few questions and passed he phone back to me and said, "Go ahead and do it." Gie **promised** we would have our upgrade in a week or less. Sounded okay. So yesterday I had to sit at the Globe office and explain what was going on. Seems Gie had it all wrong! Yes, there was a plan to upgrade like she mentioned, but there was no smart TV device, only 3 months of Amazon Prime and something else I cannot recall as I write. Then, to top it off, while we were shopping, I received a call from a Globe "technician" who asked me to verify my account. What was odd was that he knew my name! Now I'm no Einstein, but if he knew my name he must have known I'd been a Globe subscriber for years. Anyway, the Globe office assured me I would have the new plan within. a week. Lesson Life is going to have its up and downs, and as sure as Jesus lives, these life events are unavoidable. Life is full of surprises and letdowns but somehow, some way, we learn to overcome them and move on, having learned a lesson from them. Until next time, have a blessed Sunday!

How Evil is Overtaking Us You have to pay attention to what is happening around you to understand that the world is under a demonic assault of epic proportions which will only intensify. Denying this does not make it less true, but rather it makes you either ignorant or uncaring, and perhaps even on the side of the powers of darkness. Three Things to Consider The United Nations I've been to the UN building in New York City and was sadly disappointed. It is adjacent to Trump Tower, which occupies the entire block between 47th and 48th Streets on First Avenue in Midtown East. The UN building is a hollow shell inside with various posters and shabby pieces of art. Anyone can enter through the lax security of blue-helmeted soldiers, or if you will, guards. You may not enter into the arena of sadness where the leaders meet. When I visited New York City two times, I stayed at the luxurious Plaza Hotel, located on 44th Street between First and Second Avenue. The UN was a brief few minutes walk away. Anyway, recently, this body of antichrist loudmouths, who are attempting to control the world, erected a statue that is certainly frightening and I would not consider it art whatsoever. It is called "The Guardian of International Peace and Security". If you read and study the Bible like I do, you could certainly equate this monstrosity with the resemblance of the beast from the book of Revelation. You can see this brazen image right here on Twitter, too. https://twitter.com/UN_Photo/status/1458178013082816513?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1458178013082816513%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.thegatewaypundit.com%2F2021%2F12%2Fpure-evil-united-nations-unveils-statute-nyc-headquarters-resembles-beast-book-revelations%2F "The beast I saw resembled a leopard, but had feet like those of a bear and a mouth like that of a lion. The dragon gave the beast his power and his throne and great authority" (Revelation 13:2, NIV). Look at the images again. The body resembles a leopard. The feet are a different color and look just like the feet of a bear. The mouth obviously resembles that of a lion. Coincidence? I don't think so! More jabs! Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla recently stated that people will require a **fourth jab** sooner than originally expected. Meanwhile, evil Dr. Fauci, the Grinch who is attempting to steal Christmas because of the new Omicron variant, stated last Wednesday "that it’s a matter of time before the definition of fully vaccinated **changes**." If you've been paying attention, Albert Bourla is the same person who said that anybody who does not take the vaccination should be charged as a criminal. What in God's name are *these* global criminals up to with this propaganda? In short, it's still all about power, control and money. You can watch the video from the link below that proves what I am saying. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0CIkR4b6JFs These two above-mentioned men are just part of the real criminal cabal who are attempting to poison people with, get this, **not a real vaccine as vaccines are defined**, but rather with an mRNA shot, and an unproven one at that. In fact, the FDA has refused to release any information about the jab for another 50 years. Critical thinkers would (should!) wonder why that is so. What is being hidden from us? NASA's Project Blue Beam Who doesn't like space, looking at the stars on a clear night? I certainly do, and the moon as well. Well, the above-mentioned project is eerie at best, evil at worst, and I choose the latter. It consists of **four different steps** in order to implement the new age religion with the Antichrist as its head. In step one, it artificially creates earthquakes at certain precise locations on the planet with the intent to destroy archaeological evidence of all religious artifacts. In this manner, religious beliefs van ve destroyed and replaced with artificial ones. In step two, there are three-dimensional optical holograms and sounds, laser projection of multiple **holographic images that are delivered simultaneously** to different parts of the world, each receiving a different image according to predominating regional national religious faith. Furthermore, the holographic image is already able to speak every known language in the world so everyone will not only see the space show but understand what the hologram says. Creepy stuff! When Jesus spoke of the end of the age, he said: "For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and **perform great signs and wonders to deceive**, if possible, **even the elect**. See, I have told you ahead of time" (Mathew 24:24-25, NIV). The third step in the NASA Blue Beam Project is called the **Telepathic Electronic Two-Way Communication system.** Lt. Col John Alexander notes: "If it is possible to feed artificial thought into the multigenic field via satellite, the mind control of **the entire planet is now possible**. An individual's only resistance would be to constantly question the motivation behind their thoughts and not act upon thoughts which they consider to be outside their own ideological, religious and moral boundaries." The fourth and final step is devious and is comprised of three components: The **fourth step** concerns the universal supernatural manifestation with electronic means. It contains three different orientations.  One is to make mankind believe that **an alien (off-world) invasion** is about to happen at every major city on earth in order to provoke each major nation to use its nuclear weapons in order to strike back. This way, the United Nations Court will require that all those nations which launched nuclear weapons to disarm when the invasion is shown to have been false. And how will the United Nations know that the invasion was false? **They will have staged it, of course.**  The second is to make the Christians believe that the **Rapture** is going to occur with the supposed divine intervention of an alien (off-world) civilization coming to rescue us earthlings from a savage and merciless demon. **Its goal will be to dispose of all significant opposition to the implementation of the New World Order in one fell swoop**, actually within hours of the beginning of the above-mentioned sky show.  The third orientation in the fourth step is a mixture of electronic and supernatural forces. The **waves used at that time will allow supernatural forces to travel through optical fibers, coaxial cables (TV) electrical and phone lines in order to penetrate to everyone at once through major appliances.**  **Embedded chips will already be in place (**perhaps via the jabs and booster shots**)**. The objective of all this deals with global Satanic ghosts projected all around the world in order to push all of the world's population to the very edge of hysteria and madness**,** as well as to compel them into a wave of suicide, murder and permanent psychological disorders. After the **Night of the Thousand Stars**, worldwide populations will be ready for the **new messiah** **to reestablish order and peace at any cost**, even at the cost of abdication of all of our known freedoms.  Conclusion Mind control, jabs, holograms that speak, and an image of a beast at the UN? Folks, evil is indeed overtaking us and hardly a person has a care in the world. Instead, most people care more about the material things of this world. Perhaps readers should take some time and consider the evil that is overtaking us while we carry on with a life devoted to self-indulgment. Do not say you have not been warned far in advance!

Repent, Renounce and Release Sitting in a pew during mass or a church service does not make anybody a Christian. This is truth. F0llowing church Sacraments does not make us holy, either. In fact, no church Sacrament has the ability to save one's soul aside from placing one's **faith in Christ alone by faith alone**. @Scotty17 gave me the idea for this topic, so my thanks to him in advance. He's a solid preacher of the truth. What makes us a Christian consists of three things: repentance, renouncing our former lifestyles, and releasing others from the harm they have done to us. These come with the Christian conversion experience (faith in Christ) and are thus essential. Repent Again, @Scotty17 spoke a lot about what it means to repent, so I won't delve into this too deeply, but rather refer you to his topic on his blog here on read.cash. It's a remarkable read rife with spiritual insight. At any rate, the need for repentance is a necessary part of Christian conversion. You won't hear a lot about it in churches today. Instead you will hear how much God loves you and I (and He does); how we are forgiven by the shed blood of Jesus on the cross (which is also true); and how prosperous, healthy and easier life will be once we come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. **The latter is not true.** The fact is, once you become a Christian, life will become **more difficult**. You will lose friends, co-workers, and even family members. People will refer to you as a Bible thumper and think you have gone off the deep end and are in need of psychiatric help. This is precisely what the world thinks of those of us who place our trust in Jesus. And if you don't believe me, you who waste your time on #Twitter, can see that recently the communist run platform banned literally thousands of Christians for sharing the gospel of Christ. So we do not merely need to repent and believe on Jesus and thus be born again, but other things must follow afterwards. And these are important too so do not take them for granted and simply move on after you sincerely repent. Renounce Once we repent, we need to **renounce our former lifestyles**. I've heard so many testimonies in churches where people stood up and essentially bragged about their past sinful lives. That is not a good testimony for Jesus, friends. This is sinful boasting and a testimony for the powers of darkness. When we renounce something, we do not bring it back into our memories. If and when we do, the aforementioned powers of darkness are able to grab a new foothold on our lives and tempt us to return to those days of alleged fun and debauchery. Of course, these temptations are lies and are able to harm us spiritually, and yes, even physically. Therefore, we must make every effort to **separate ourselves from our past lifestyles**. We have to be willing to let go of those old memories. Yes, Satan and his minions will bring them to our memories, but we must act quickly and renounce them for what they were/are: sinful practices. This is the key to renouncing our old ways. Release Of course, we have to release others from the harm they did to us or our loved ones. In other words, rather than dwell on what happened and what they did, we must be completely willing to forgive the person or persons. Now here I don't mean for one to simply mumble something like, "I forgive so and so." To use a Texas idiom, that dog won't hunt. Instead, we have to forgive the person completely. This means we need to refuse to allow those old grudges to rise to the surface again. And if and when they do, we renounce them, repent again, and begin the act of forgiveness anew. I once read a story in Texas about two men in prison there. One was a recent convert who had found Jesus behind those cold steel bars that clank open and closed so often you'd think it was done on purpose. Anyway, the man's sister had been brutally murdered. The Christian totally forgave the killer. I don't know if the story is still around or not, but it is called: "I Shook the Hand that Killed My Sister." My prayer for you Listen, repentance, renouncing our past, and releasing others is no easy task. It can be an arduous journey but is nevertheless necessary if we are to live holy lives for a holy God. So I have a prayer I'd like to share with you and for you. "Heavenly Father, you are worthy of all worship and praise. Despite our sins, you sent your Son Jesus to die on the cross for us so we might live for His glory and spend eternity in your presence. In the name of Jesus, and by the power of the Holy Spirit, help me see where I need ro repent, what I need to renounce in my life, and who I need to completely release. I ask these things in the glorious name of Jesus. Amen."

A Joyful Shout When good times are upon us it is easy to be happy and joyful. But when times aren't going the way we anticipated, we become either despondent or angry. But nobody in their right mind ever claimed life was fair, and anybody with half a brain knows this. Some people give a joyful shout when they are drinking alcohol. Others shout in joy when their favorite sorts team wins a game. Seems like we have all done that at one time or another, and there's really nothing wrong with it. But rarely will anyone shout for joy for what the Lord has done for them or is doing. He is always active in the lives of believers and the Holy Spirit provides us with that voice of joy to shout to the Father. So why don't we do it? Usually, we can't be bothered with it. Busy lives I don't know about you, but I live an extremely busy life. Aside fro working as a paid writer, I am here on read.cash almost daily writing and commenting. Additionally, and more importantly, I have a young son to take care of. Each day he must go to the beach. It's his ritual. Technology has certainly provided our lives with dualities. On the one hand, we can access the Internet and find almost anything we care to learn about. Of course, gaming is big and people waste a lot of their time on it. Then there are social media platforms that consume our time. In the end, technology can either be a good or a bad thing. We own microwave ovens, automatic washing machines, hot water heaters, stoves, refrigerators to keep our food from spoiling, and smartphones that help is communicate instantly. We are a blessed generation and yet we do not praise God or give Him the shouts of joy He rightly deserves. Lack of faith Many people who profess to be be Christians lack faith. Oh, they may mumble a few words to God from time to time, and more when troubles arise, but rarely will they shout any praise to Him who created the heavens and the earth. A lack of faith should be your warning sign. If you are not praising God and giving Him thanks, you may not be saved or you may be a backslider. If you are a backslider, the fix is simple: you repent and turn back to obedience to His commands and fellowship with like-minded individuals. On the other hand, if you place your faith elsewhere, such as in yourself or others, you are missing the proverbial boat of life - literally. You see, our bodies will eventually wear out and die and return to the dust of the earth. But our souls will live on for eternity, either in glory or in hell. We have a choice. God, in His benevolence, will not force you or I to call upon Him nor will He compel us to worship Him. Whatever our circumstances So in good times, let's praise the Lord. And in problematic times, let's praise the Lord. At all times let's raise a joyful shout to the LORD! When we shout praises to the LORD, we lift ourselves above the trials and problems that face us and our lives are much better for it. Won't you lift up your voice to Him who alone saves and give Him a shout of praise today and every day?

May the Farce Not be with You Lies spread faster than the truth. This is a known fact. We've all encountered lies and we have all told them, even those little "white lies." But a lie is a lie is a lie no matter how you spin it. On the other hand, any truthful explanation requires two important criteria:  1. it must faithfully explain what we have observed; and 2. it must be consistent with any future observations.  Truth possesses the power of prediction. For example, you only need to touch a hot pan on a stove one time to know that heat is harmful to the skin when it is in close contact. Lies always spread faster than the truth because lies are easier to come up with and do not require a faithful explanation. Lies emanate from an evil intent to force a decision before the truth may be determined. Truth takes time to disseminate. We now live in an era where lies have turned into deliberate attacks on the search for the truth. Are you with me so far? Good. Let's move on. Two weeks = two years Some of us have short attention spans. But most of us remember when the "scientists" told us a new contagious virus was killing people in literal droves. They called it coronavirus. It sounded scary enough, right? We were told that people were falling dead in the streets. We even saw the videos and we believed them. We were rightfully and fully frightened and concerned for our safety and that of our loved ones. Any rational human being would be. Instead of the two weeks to "flatten the curve" we are now in year two of the farce. And by farce, I mean that the virus we were told was so deadly is truly not the health threat to the vast majority of people. However, our governments conspire with the media and continue to fear monger over the threat of the virus's existence, all the while making attempts to force individuals to accept experimental vaccines with no long-term scientific testing to prove they are perfectly safe. As we quickly move into the holiday season it will soon be behind us and 2022 will be ushered in with its typical debauchery. But with 2022 we will continue to see new variants to frighten us and force us into compliance of one sort or another. In fact, we are already observing this very thing. For example, in New Zealand and Australia, once true bastions of western democracy and abject freedom, citizens are now locked down on the whims of unscientifically trained bureaucrats when the first sign of a positive PCR test comes to light. Australia, once a penal colony has returned to its roots for the "safety" of its citizens. While I am no predictor of the future and do not own a crystal ball like the wicked witch of the east in "The Wizard of Oz", I see more of the Australia type restrictions being pushed on more and more countries. Were you aware that Australia has built concentration camps for the unvaccinated? It's true but you won't hear squat from your 48 inch widescreen idiot box with all its bells and whistles. Smart TV my eye! People are making attempts to escape these prison camps and are being arrested. Follow this link: https://www.bbc.com/news/world-australia-59486285 And check out beautiful Austria. Did you know that the government was close to signing into law a bill that would require fines and prison for the unvaccinated? Critical thinking This rational type of thinking thinks things through with logic, but logic is as rare as a 5-course meal in a prison. Think about it: **If the vaccines actually worked, then there would be no need for compulsory vaccinations!** Hello? Instead, what we observe is that countries with the highest rates of the fully vaccinated also have the highest rates of the virus. Consequently, logic dictates that either the vaccines are fully effective and thus there is no need to make them mandatory, or they are not effective at all, which amounts to making them mandatory entirely pointless. **Enter the Omicron variant** It's the latest scare tactic and more will follow after this one. As I have said time and again, this has always been about power and control over the masses by the global elite. Oh, and money, let's not forget that! If the general public of any nation is ever going to pull their heads out of the haze of propaganda for even a moment and regain their rightful bearings, they might come to the realization that they have been made the target of a massive terror campaign and played like a cheap fiddle. Heck, they might even become angry enough to begin a revolt, a revolution. But don't count on this happening. People are by and large sheep who willingly go with the flow. These are the very types who believe fictional movies and anything they see on their TV's. Truth As I mentioned, it takes a while for the truth to overcome a lie but it eventually does happen. But when you have some of the most powerful people in the world cooperating with media dullards, it's a strong force to overcome. Of this we can be sure: after thus facial scare, another variant will arise, and then another and another and another. It will never end unless heads roll among the powers that be. You see, friends and readers, the globalist masters and political opportunists will continue with their theatrical performances until they get what they seek, or until they are removed from the hoax entirely. The virus will never end, unless the powers that be end. I've warned you time and again. When will you wake up? May the Farce Not be with You!

@MarielB22

I'll Tell You a Few Secrets Secrets are meant to be kept private between two or more persons. But life experience has taught me that the promised confidence may be easily broken, especially when more than two individuals are involved. But sometimes secrets must be told and that is my aim today. Secret 1 We all get sick from time to time. Some of us, like my fiancee, have a natural immunity. He's been sick once in his entire life and has never had a disease, just the common flu he picked up in the US Army. This is a good thing because my son and I are not susceptible from catching any illness from him. But here is the secret: doctor's are paid good sums of money for their work. Well, that's no secret, but this is: **you are not a patient; you're a valued customer.** Think about it. How many time has your doctor asked you to come back again for a follow up visit? And how many times have they said they needed to "run more tests" on you? It's not that I do not trust doctors per se, but their scheme is to make money, either for themselves, the clinic or hospital where they are employed, or both. Usually it is both. For example, my son came down with a cold. I treated him with over-the-counter medicines to no avail. His symptoms became worse, so my man advised that I take him to our family doctor, which I did. After three weeks there were still no results despite repeated visits, expensive medicines, etc. I then resorted to what some (maybe many) would call medical quackery and used herbal plants that naturally grow here in the Philippines. Within 4 days he was back to normal. Now I'm no doctor nor am I a darn fool, but the "quackery" worked wonders. He is 100% healthy and vigorous again. Call it coincidence if you want, but I believe otherwise. Secret 2 **You should not get your child vaccinated under any circumstance**. It is child abuse. Recently Twitter and Facebook banned the American Heart Association's warnings about vaccinating children because of a likelihood they could develop a heart disease called myocarditis. "Myocarditis is an inflammation of the heart muscle (myocardium). The inflammation can reduce the heart's ability to pump and cause rapid or irregular heart rhythms (arrhythmias)." One of the more common symptoms of this ailment is chest pain. I can't count how many articles I have read here on read.cash from people complaining of this very thing after taking the jab. https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/myocarditis/symptoms-causes/syc-20352539 Of course, **the CDC highly recommends it**. But folks, despite what the "science" says (and it changes day to day), nobody has a clue what a vaccine will do to a child in his or her future. But if you do the research like I have, you will determine who runs the CDC and folks, the news is not good. I'll let you be the judge. A recent scientific report out of Israel stated "the Israeli Ministry of Health reported that 148 cases of myocarditis had been identified in Israel." And that is just one country! And how is it that we are seeing almost daily deaths of athletes in tiptop shape die on the field of play after getting the mandated jab? Finally, let me ask you this: would you subject the child you love to this experimental drug? Secret 3 It's really no secret that the "fact-checkers" we see on Facebook, Twitter and on other platforms are paid handsomely to distort the truth. I have reported on this before, but permit me to refresh your memory. So called fact-checkers are paid by the Poynter Institute. The institute is funded by globalists. Two of the biggest donators are The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and George Soros. If you do not know who these evil peoplee are, I urge you to conduct your due diligence and find out. Summary Science is science. It used to be rather trustworthy, but it is no longer worth a plugged nickel. In my writing profession,I read several journal articles almost daily. One of the first things I do is scroll down to the end to see who funded the "research." You see, researchers today are paid to say what those who foot the bill want them to say. And and contrary opinion is considered to be false science or fake news. Now they can send the modern Gestapo to my house as they wish, but I'll die on my knees in prayer before I subject my son to any experimental vaccination. Jesus is our healer, and though He has His own timing and plans, I've found Him to be trustworthy. How about you?

Ladies: How to Find a Good Man I should begin with a disclaimer, that being that I am certainly not the final authority on what a good man is to every woman. But what I am able to do is speak from my experiences. Now experience isn't always the best teacher, but for me it has been a rather good instructor. High school years During my elementary and high school years I was pretty much focused on my studies for the most part. But at one point during high school things changed. Though I was shy, I began to have an attraction to boys. And trust me, these were boys. **There are no men in high school.** While I cannot say with all honesty that I had numerous suitors, I did have some boys who came on to me and who I found physically attracted to. Being young and dumb, I finally fell for the old "I love you" line and lost my virginity at 17. That was a lesson I learned right there. What I soon figured out was that this same guy was a serial user of other girls, both in my school and in the community. He hid his phone from me, was always texting, and I never saw his Facebook. I should have known better than to trust him. The last I heard was that he was shot dead for cheating. Now I am not saying that was right, but it is a consequence of serial cheating and philandering. Work Disgruntled, hurt and shamed, I set out to find my solace in work. I did not seek a relationship and I did not do what some ladies do and look for a woman as a partner. I was brought up with at least some semblance of Christian morality by my Catholic parents. While I worked as a common maid for low wages, I also studied on my own. I wanted to master English. And what money I earned I sent home to my poor parents in Mindanao. Meanwhile, I often went hungry because my employers were stingy Koreans who fed us maids scraps. And I'll admit, there were times when I was so darn hungry that I stole bites of food from their ref. Like the boy in high school, I was being used. Don't look for love One lesson I learned early on was not to look for love. This often leads to finding the wrong guy and it typically ends after a short relationship. Maybe you've been there with me and felt that same pain, anger and intense frustration. Love happens. Love is not infatuation because the guy is cuter than the Greek Adonis. There are plenty of those types, and trust me, plenty of women fall into their web of lies. And I found that love wasn't about money or finding some sugar daddy to cater to my every whim. I have "friends" now who are like that. Love just happens One day as I was browsing my Facebook I saw where a man had liked one of my images. I didn't think much of it because that's what guys do. Then he did it again and again. Finally he messaged me. Turns out he was a foreigner from the USA. I thought to myself, "Here we go again!" But that did not turn out to me the case. Over the course of several months we chatted often, sometimes for hours! **We got to know one another**. Then one day he asked me if I wanted to fly from Davao to Manila and then on to La Union by bus where he lived on the beach. I was reluctant at first but I finally agreed to do it and we hit it off immediately. Qualities Now I cannot speak for all women, but the qualities I find in my man are not perfect, but they are certainly admirable. Like me, he is a writer, though he is a consummate professional and works hard. He is highly educated, unlike me. He is kind, he was there when I gave birth to his son. He helps me cook and clean and run errands. He takes care of me when I am ailing and he is a great father to our young son. While he is not a sugar daddy, as some seek, he does surprise me with gifts that are perfect, as if he really knows my mind and tastes. **And he doesn't drink**. He always wants to take me wherever he goes rather than leave me at home as some men like to do to their women. He can be strict at times, but only because he dedicated our son to the Lord at birth and he disciplines him (though not physically). But he does this out of love. And as for love, it's not all about sex for him. **It's about actions rather than mere words.** And best of all, he is a devoted Christian man. We've been together now for over three years and I am truly blessed. Lesson **Don't hurry love**. Love will find you one day. Don't fall into the trap of chasing after some sexy looking stud or hooking up with a serial sex maniac. You'll be disappointed every time. Let love happen. It will. Best advice: don't hook up with a drunkard, a womanizer or a lazy man, but rather find a good Christian man.

Don't Do It - Life Isn't Over! I awoke very early this morning with something deeply and heavy on my heart and I wanted to share it. There is one or more of you out there who are considering ending your life. **Don't do it!** The Christmas season can be depressing for many people. They have worries and problems that they believe cannot be solved. But this isn't true - it's a trick from the father of lies, Satan. The suicide rate rises during times of economic depression *and* during times of economic boom, as people feel ‘left behind’ when every Juan, Bob, and Joanna seems to be racing ahead of them in life. Life is precious We are all God's valued creation, whether we believe it or not. Just yesterday a friend of mine named Tammy shared a heartbreaking story with me about her son. He passed away at 3 months of age. The doc's do not know why yet. There are no real words to console someone who has experienced a loss of a loved one. And we don't don't know why the Lord took that baby home with Him but we can know He did. **He is a good God all the time.** Suicide is self-murder There are a few religions out there that teach that a person who commits suicide cannot enter heaven. **This is also untrue.** But it does not give anyone a reason to take their own life. **Think of the people who love you.** And don't believe the lie that nobody does. That is also a lie. Think of their grief! And whether you believe in God or not, in His infinite wisdom, He has a way of reaching the most hardened or despondent heart. "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,     before you were born I set you apart"(Jeremiah 1:5, NIV). Grief, sadness and economic woes appear during this celebratory season. They can all be overcome. ALL of them. Help is available If you are that person or persons who are having these suicidal thoughts, please know there is help available 24 hours a day by trained counselors. Don't be afraid to reach out for that help. If you are in the Philippines, here is your help: **Crisis/Suicide/Helplines in the Philippines**  **Hopeline** Hopeline is a 24/7 suicide prevention and crisis support helpline in the Philippines.  *PLDT:* (02) 804-4673  *Globe:* (0917) 558-4673  *Toll-free for Globe/TM:* 2919 **If you are in the US, your help is here:** Call 1-800-273-8255 to reach the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline/ **Both countries keep matters strictly confidential so keep that in mind.** And remember, God has a plan for you and He desires that you fulfill it. Ask Him for it, for God is the ultimate Counselor. "For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace" (Isaiah 9:6, NIV). Give Jesus a call. He is always available.

A Few Words About Wisdom A lot of people are smart. They read a lot, know a lot of trivia, and can cite facts like a Jeopardy contestant. These people are considered wise, sages if you will. People of this nature are said to be full of wisdom. And while it holds true that education never ends (or shouldn't), for many it does. And it is also true that the observant learn something new every single day. Keeping one's eyes open to their surroundings rather than looking down for coins will result in new knowledge. Knowledge, much like fake news, may be gleaned from friends, family members and people we meet by happenstance. It may or may not be valuable knowledge, however. The fact is, not all knowledge is good, for it may be as fake as a counterfeit dollar bill. Therefore, we must be careful of the knowledge we seek and gain. Modern education Contemporary education may earn you a degree, a piece of parchment to proudly hang on your wall, but it doesn't necessarily make you wise or smart. The simple truth is that a lot of today's education is simply indoctrination. As a student you are asked and even quizzed and tested on what the professor has lectured on. If you refuse to follow the narrative of the times, you are considered a radical, a bad student. Instead, to be a "good" student, you are compelled to regurgitate what has been taught in lectures. You may just as well be a Stepford Wife (an old flick about robotic women). And don't get me started on academic essays that run counter to a professor's ideology (mostly liberals). Regurgitation is not learning. Learning stems from questioning the lecturer, challenging the prevailing narrative. Scholars of old did this and were the wiser for it. Men and women of old did not buy into the lecture unless the professor was able to answer inquisitively posed questions. A lot of students today believe they are learning but most are not, because they fail to seek true knowledge outside the classroom. They are much too busy on TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and other social media platforms in a feeble attempt to become rich and famous. Or maybe their time is spent working a job, texting their bff's and chitchatting with the neighbors, or they are pursuing matters that are more pleasurable. But perhaps some are single parents who are exhausted at the end of the day. **Am I chiding you now? Not at all. On the contrary, I am educating you!** Worldly wisdom The wisdom of the world is paying you a wage, putting food on your tables, and hopefully offering you some semblance of a comfortable lifestyle. But this is hardly the wisdom we should be seeking. **Hear me out.** There is indeed a higher wisdom and let me explain it as simply as I am humanly able. God's wisdom Some of you knew I was going here. That's fine. That's my choice as a disciple of Jesus Christ, the fully God/Man who paid for the sins of the world for all who will believe on Him. The LORD himself said: "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the LORD" (Isaiah 55:8, NIV). Jesus, who created the universe in obedience to the Father's plan, has a surpassing wisdom of all of humanity. God's infallible word pleads with us frequently to seek wisdom above all things! "For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God’s sight. As it is written: “He catches the wise in their craftiness” and again, “The Lord knows that the thoughts of the wise are futile" (1 Corinthians 3:19-20, NIV). You see, friends, Godly wisdom is, of course, from God and honors God. Godly wisdom begins with the fear of God (a deep, even profound respect for who He is and a hatred of sin), and this results in a holy life. Conversely, worldly wisdom is not concerned whatsoever with honoring God but rather with pleasing the self. How do we obtain Godly wisdom? First, and as above, we fear the Lord. Then the primary method by which we gain godly wisdom is by learning God’s Word. "May my cry come before you, LORD; give me understanding according to your word" (Psalm 119:169, NIV). Therefore, if we are to become truly wise, each of us we must acquire wisdom from God (and that includes me). And guess what, friends and readers, who we will associate with on a daily basis will determine our wisdom. "Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm" (Proverbs 13:20, NIV). In a veritable nutshell, those of us who want and seek godly wisdom will choose for our heroes those who exhibit wisdom in their personal lives. "Indeed, if you call out for insight     and cry aloud for understanding, and if you look for it as for silver     and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the Lord     and find the knowledge of God. **For the Lord gives wisdom;**     **from his mouth come knowledge and understanding**" (Proverbs 2:3-6, NIV). It's our choice Either we can choose to seek the wisdom of this passing world or we can choose to seek godly wisdom. What will it be for you? As for me and my house, we have chosen the latter and I encourage you to do the same. May the Lord give you discernment as you make your choice. Amen.

Weekday Beach Fry Fun Living a mere 20-second walk from the beach has its advantages. But the unnecessary restrictions (that have never worked and never will) can put a damper on some sun and fun. With that said, yesterday some friends and my fiancee decided to have a fish fry on the beach. La Union In my particular province the restrictions have been unduly harsh. From time to time the mayor shuts down the beaches and has tanods patrol for recalcitrant violators. Meanwhile, fishermen who make their living suffer financially, not to mention the children who are missing out on their years of fun and joy. Lately, trips to the beach have been relaxed. I chalk to this up to election time politics with a mix of a dire loss of tourism money. But enough of the drama, let's cut to the fun! Friends, family. and fun Nothing says bonding when we can gather together and share laughs, memories and have some good times. We decided on an impromptu fish fry on the beach scheduled for 4 p.m. Wednesday. And what fun we had! We gathered some wood to make a fire to cook our Filipino favorite foods. We all chipped in 150 pesos and bought fish and other foods for our late meal. Here above is one of my friends busy cooking. Then help arrived. We bought some snacks from a local vendor. As you can see from my expression, I was none too happy with him overcharging me because he saw my fiancee was a foreigner from the US. This is the shabby, haggard me while it was still light and after a long day of working. As the sun began to set, a few of us went swimming. The water was warm but a little rough. My son could not swim as much as he wanted to because he has a cold. I had to refrain because I just had my hair rebonded. And then more visitors arrived with more food. Of course, Filipino style, there was plenty of food to go around, snacks for the kids, and some US food my fiancee who just had to bring along. Then the sunset we were waiting for and never tire of began its descent. We ate, joked, laughed, and met some new people out for a stroll. It was nice to meet and greet new and older friends who were enjoying the evening. My fiancee loves sunsets and of course he had to watch it go down. Full of rice, fish and veggies, things took a turn that didn't meet our fancy. Someone brought in a bottle of Emperor. Since we are non-drinkers, it was time for us to call it an evening. All in all, it was a fantastic evening of food, fun and bonding. All images are copyright of MarielB22 and may not be used without the author's permission.

13th Month Pay is a Cruel Joke Before you get on my case about the title, please know that I do know that it helps a lot of people during the Christmas holidays. Ultimately, however, it's a cruel joke that demonstrates a false piety on the part of wealthy employers. Hear me out. Wages The wages in the country are a mere pittance. Minimum wages are different is various parts of the country. For example, Manila pays a "higher" wage than the provinces. Here in my place it is 240 pesos a day. Add in jeep or trike fare and you're lucky to make 200, not to mention eating lunch and paying taxes. It's a darn shame. And it's a disgrace. For example, construction workers labor all day in the blazing sun, and if they are fortunate, they make 500 pesos a day. In the USA, the some worker makes a minimum of 5000 a day. Some make that in an hour. A false argument Oh, but the US is a richer country! That is certainly true but a false argument. You think for a hot second that Manuel Villar, Enrique Razon Jr, Lucio Tan, and the rest are any less wealthy. Look at the list below. Manuel Villar: $7.2 billion Enrique Razon Jr: $5.0 billion Lucio Tan: $3.3 billion Hans Sy: $3.0 billion Herbert Sy: $3.0 billion Andrew Tan: $2.9 billion Henry Sy Jr: $2.7 billion Harley Sy: $2.7 billion Teresita Sy-Coson: $2.7 billion Tony Tan Caktiong & family: $2.4 billion Elizabeth Sy: $2.4 billion Ramon Ang: $2.4 billion Edgar Sia II: $1.2 billion Roberto Ongpin: $1.1 billion Ricardo Po Sr & family: $1.1 billion And what do they pay their workers? Squat. They spend more on food in a couple of weeks than many Filipinos do in a year. And then there are their luxury purchases. God only knows that amount. The irony Herein lies the irony, what is spent by those who get the 13th month pittance only lines thee pockets of the rich even more. Don't you get it? The cruel joke is on us! And do our politicians care one iota? Not a bit. They are all rich. Oh, but when election time rolls around, watch how they act. They are phonies, power hungry, and what we can't do, they do freely with no consequences. But at Christmastime they love their photo ops where they hand out a can of sardines and a kilo or two of rice. The solution and the problem Simply put, it is paying fair wages to all workers. But you won't see any fat cat politicians voting for that, because it hurts their bottom line and their rich friends who drink $200 bottles of wine for dinner. And it's our own fault. We who vote allow the same political dynasties into office year after year after year. Thankfully, I no longer vote because I refuse to be a part of the problem of electing these wealthy leeches. And some of you reading this will gladly accept a bag of rice or 100 pesos to cast a vote for the politicians. So enjoy your paltry 13th month pay and live it up for a day or two. But remember this, when you are scrapping by from month to month to feed your family, keep in mind you have nobody to blame but yourselves. I am thankful I work for myself.

Smoke Gets in Your Eyes I don't smoke. I tried it once in high school because many of my friends were smokers and likely still are. Despite laws in some areas of the world about smoking in public, many do so anyway. Not only does cigarette smoke gets in your eyes, it remains in your clothing, adversely affects your taste buds, but in stays in your handbag and especially your lungs. Banned? I am not one for banning most anything. The reason why is that once something is banned, the "ban" police (as it were) are ever on a quest to ban something else. Pastor Martin Niemöller was a German Lutheran pastor after serving as submarine commander. Then he had a change of heart. Maybe it was the horrors of war, but it's only a guess on my part.. He is attributed to now famous quote, a poem of sorts entitled "First They Came." First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a socialist. Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a trade unionist. Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Jew. Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me. The Pastor Certainly he was not referring to smoking but rather people idly standing by as moral atrocities were taking place. But back to smoking et cetera. The woke moral police Nowadays there are people (woke activists) who want to ban Christmas, prayer, guns, smoking, what they refer to "hate speech, and more. These moral police certainly have a right to free speech, as long as it on their terms. In other words, anything they don'r agree with should be banned. Cigarettes It used to be that if someone was smoking nearby and you asked them to move away, they did so. Not anymore. Instead, they snarl, hiss, curse, and tell you to mind your own business. According to the CDC, **c**igarette smoking is the leading cause of preventable death in the United States. I can imagine it's pretty much the same everywhere. Dangers of smoking Cigarettes case lung damage, heart disease, fertility problems, risk of pregnancy complications, risk of type 2 diabetes, a weakened immune system, vision problems, poor oral hygiene, unhealthy skin and hair, and risk of other cancers. https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/324644#poor-oral-hygiene Now count me a s a freedom loving person as long as they do not harm others. Again, I don't desire to ban smoking, Alcohol or whatever, But as a Christian I care about your health so do your loved ones. I encourage you to stop smoking because it does more than get smoke in your eyes.

You Got Me Again, Lazada Confound the luck. Lazada got me again. I was buying advanced Christmas gifts for my man and received them on a timely basis which was great. When he went out to meet with his expat friends I was excited to open the packages. The green shirt above is a 1x from the USA. The black Christian shirt on the right is a 3x. Not so much. I wear a small or a medium and the black shirt barely fit me. I contacted the seller and there was no response from him or her. Anyway, there were 3 separate packages, all from different sellers. I opened the first one and immediately knew I had been duped, scammed, ripped off. Of course I was disappointed. Second package I did not become angry and instead chalked it up to a scammer or perhaps someone who had made an honest mistake. No problem. Things happen. I tore open the second package expecting better results. The cotton cloth was great and as advertised. But once again the size was about a US large. I nearly cried because I knew how much he wanted the shirt. Third package I slowly opened the third package, as if by doing so there would be the product I sought. Unfortunately, it was not. It was a medium rather than a 3x. It wasn't so much the money that I spent that bothered me, but instead the people behind the lies - the sellers. Fourth package I bought a water heater for my shower. My son loves the beach but he despises baths and showers because the water is typically cold coming from the well. Lo and behold the package arrived and thankfully it was as advertised. It will be installed this morning, Reaction My man is a Texan, known for their kindness and ability to display righteous anger. Truth be known, I was concerned he might be angry with the failed purchases. But he was not, and suggested I send them as gifts to the less fortunate. It's Christmas season, and there are a lot of scams out there. As far as I am concerned, we need to be careful when we buy online. Better yet, instead of gifting ourselves, we should gift the poor and hungry. Jesus said: "The poor you will always have with you, and you can help them any time you want. But you will not always have me" (Mark 14:7, NIV). Let us help and serve those who are unable to do so. Money is not the object of wealth as some believe. It is instead a giving spirit of love. Give today and be blessed. I love you in the Lord's name.

Participation in the Kingdom of God You have problems and I have problems. Everyone with a mind is aware that anything from minor to major problems beset us on a daily basis. That's life. We look around at the state of our world and wonder how all the wickedness and problems can ever be remedied. One solution There is only one sure solution to turning evil to good and that is to expand the Kingdom of God. Are you a participant or a bystander? Oh, you study the word of God? Fantastic. But don't merely study, we who call upon the name of the Lord Jesus must participate. Three components of participation The three components of participating in the Kingdom of God are **change, listening and seeing**. Keep in mind that the Kingdom of God is already here in part but has not been totally fulfilled yet. That time is coming. When the jealous Jewish leaders brought Jesus before Pilate, the Scripture reads: "Then Pilate went back into his headquarters and called for Jesus to be brought to him. “Are you the king of the Jews?” he asked him. Jesus replied, “Is this your own question, or did others tell you about me?” “Am I a Jew?” Pilate retorted. “Your own people and their leading priests brought you to me for trial. Why? What have you done?” Jesus answered, “**My Kingdom is not an earthly kingdom**. If it were, my followers would fight to keep me from being handed over to the Jewish leaders. **But my** **Kingdom is not of this world**” (John 18:33-36, NLT). Above image: The route Jesus took from the trial to His execution at Golgotha (the Via Dolorosa — “the Way of Sorrows”). Change The new birth or conversion is not the end of our Christian journey. If you believe it is, you might want to examine yourself. We cannot simply receive a "get out of hell card" as if this life were a Monopoly game. True change is required. Pastor Allen Jackson recently said: "If your only goal of your faith is to go to heaven after you have lived your life, I don't think you should imagine you're going to go to heaven." That's a powerful truth. You see, our walk of faith requires us who believe to live for the purposes of God. **We have to be willing to change**. Now if God is not prompting you to change your life, **that is not a good sign.** Look what Jesus said: "And he said: “Truly I tell you, **unless you change** and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven" (Matthew 18:3, NIV). And: "You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be **made new in the attitude of your minds**" (Ephesians 4:22-23, NIV). That is change. Change leads to repentance. Repentance is turning from your old sinful ways and taking a new direction in life. Listening We must listen to the Lord. Repentance is aligning with God. Think of a car out of alignment. The car pulls you to the left or right and the steering has to be controlled to move in a straight position. Our life without repentance pulls us out of alignment with Jesus. We veer towards the sinful desires and out of His will. We must practice repentance to stay aligned with God. Repentance is not just what we stop doing bit also what we are willing to do! We also meditate on God's word rather than simply reading it like a novel. "Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful" (Joshua 1:8, NIV) "They made their hearts as **hard as flint and would not listen** to the law or to the words that the Lord Almighty had sent by his Spirit through the earlier prophets. So the Lord Almighty was very angry" (Zechariah 7:12, NIV). We must listen to God. We need to hear what God is saying to us in His word and in prayer. Seeing We see with our eyes. But we also listen with our eyes! We consistently live in a panic mode because we don't listen with our eyes. The disciples saw all the miracles Christ did but **they constantly did not see with their eyes and understand**. "**Listen carefully** to what I am about to tell you: The Son of Man is going to be delivered into the hands of men.” But t**hey did not understand** what this meant. It was hidden from them, so that they did not grasp it, and they were afraid to ask him about it" (Luke 9:44-45, NIV). **The outcome of listening and seeing with spiritual eyes leads to understanding**. Understanding leads us to make a choice. The choice we have is either to be obedient or not. Look at Isaiah the prophet. He listened and obeyed: "Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!” (Isaiah 6:8, NIV). Application Unless we change (repent), listen and see things spiritually, we will stumble about in life. Maybe one of you can identify with this right now. Are you willing to repent and change? Are you willing to listen to the Lord through His word and through prayer by meditating on the Scriptures? Will you open your spiritual eyes to really see? I tell you the truth, unless we do, we will stumble in the streets. "So justice is driven back, and righteousness stands at a distance; **truth has stumbled in the streets**, honesty cannot enter" (Isaiah 59:14, NIV).

Christmas in Cancelled! While atheists make feeble attempts to cancel Christmas each and every year, it is not these self-professed deniers of the true and living God who are at fault this year. We have another suspect...a more sinister one at that. Here in the Philippines, where the concept of cold is relative (I see people wearing jackets when it's 70 degrees Fahrenheit), the Christmas season begins a month prior to Halloween. This year's annual celebration may be better than 2020's fiasco, but for the poor perhaps not so much. The poor have trouble purchasing food let alone gifts, while the fat cats revel in their merriment and mansions. Each day I check the latest news from the government here regarding proposed legislation and restrictions. So far, so good. With the election season near, savvy politicians do not want to upset the populace with unpopular Covid restrictions, especially owing to the fact that to us Filipinos, Christmas is everything. Gibraltar If you're unfamiliar with the little country, it is a British Overseas Territory located at the southern tip of Spain. Here's a map for reference. That is Africa to the south. Anyway, t**he government of Gibraltar has just cancelled Christmas**. I am not kidding. Why? There has been **a huge surge in Covid-19 cases**. The government there stated the following: "Official Christmas parties, official receptions and similar gatherings” have been canceled, and the public is advised to "avoid social events and parties for the next four weeks. Outdoor spaces are recommended over indoor ones, **touching and hugging is discouraged**, and mask wearing is advised." Well that sucks, right? Looks like "Santa" (if he existed) will be zipping over Gibraltar and headed straight to Tangier! But there's just one problem that needs to be brought to our collective attention. As readers who are familiar with my stance on the pandemic will recall, I have long said we are being played, that **Covid** **vaccines do not work**, and that science has proven that **no vaccine has** ***ever*** **eliminated a respiratory virus**. Never. The sordid details What could possibly be the reason for cancelling Christmas over the virus. Aren't the jabs working? Apparently not. No, let me correct myself: **they are not working!** Many are not aware of the fact that Gibraltar is the most vaccinated country in the world at 99 percent. Read it again - 99 percent of the population has been vaccinated **twice**. Look at the top row enclosed in the green box. But...but...but, I thought we were safe if we were double-jabbed! I've been screaming my lungs out and telling you that the unvaccinated are spreading the virus, and I have been called a kook for doing so, but the **real science** backs up my claim, not the fake science the media puppets broadcast daily to scare you. Health Minister Samantha Sacramento of Gibraltar said: "The **drastic increase** in the numbers of people testing positive for Covid-19 in recent days is a stark reminder that the virus is still very prevalent in our community and that it is the responsibility of us all to take every reasonable precaution to protect ourselves and our loved ones." The big picture Increase. Drastic. 99% vaccinated. Are you getting the picture here? The vaccines are not working, and this is because **they are not vaccines** in the typical sense, like polio, tetanus, flu, and all the others that took years to be tested rigorously. The Covid vaccines were not tested rigorously. Instead, they were a knee jerk reaction and were rushed into production that have resulted in more deaths and adverse reactions than every other vaccine ever produced combined. Fact. Note the chart below. The fact is, **over 118%** of Gibraltar's population are fully vaccinated against COVID (above 100% due to jabs given to Spaniards who cross the border to work or visit the territory every day). But Gibraltar is not alone. Look at the chart below for **Singapore.** It's a mess! But let's just not focus on Europe and Asia, but look to the United States, too. This is the State of Vermont (on the northern east coast). Where else will Christmas be cancelled? What country is next? What state is next? It is winter, so one may reasonably expect increased cases along with the seasonal flu. **The virus gonna virus.** Though I am no medical professional, part of my job is that of a diligent researcher. I get paid to conduct research. Do not take my opinion as medical advice. Instead, do your own due diligence. And don't say you haven't been warned repeatedly. Finally, do not allow gear to grip you in its Satanic grasp. **Be wise. Be joyful**. It is the Christmas season and I'll be hung before I ever allow any government to tell me I cannot celebrate a holiday. Advance Merry Christmas to all! Images from Pixabay and other free sources.
