My Say: The Difference between Cokaliong and Trans Asia Ship
Blog #240
May 12, 2022
As we visited Cebu, we boarded the Trans Asia Ship and as we went home, we boarded the Cokaliong ship. Traveling with these two different ships, I could see lots of differences between the two. So for today, I will share those differences that I saw while traveling on these two different ships.
Fare
Trans Asia - When we bought tickets in Iligan Pier, I was shocked to know how much the tickets were for all of us. For adults, it's 1167 PHP while for kids were 986 PHP. For the six of us, the total fare that I paid on our tickets was Php6301. The fare was unbelievable but at that time, I didn't mind it that much since my mind was thinking about my grandma who got a stroke.
Cokaliong - Last day I bought tickets for me and my four kids at Cebu Pier 1 and the total fare that I paid was 4367. It's lesser than the Trans Asia fare because the kid's fare was Php789 per head and for me as an adult, it was Php1175. I was glad that I was able to have spare money left in my wallet.
Crews
Trans Asia - I have only seen the crew when we went up, before the ship started sailing and when the ship had arrived at Cebu City pier 5.
Cokaliong - Another good thing about Cokaliong was their Crews. We can see them everywhere always roaming around. As the ship started sailing, they inspected our tickets one by one and then they announced that parents who have kids should be extra careful and we should not let the kids stay on the railings to avoid any accidents. When we reached Ozamis Pier and many passengers went down, the crews immediately clean the garbage that was left by those other passengers, and after, they also fixed the beds.
Comfort Rooms
One thing that I always look up to when boarding the ship is the comfort rooms that I can use.
Trans Asia - As I entered first on their comfort room, I could smell the bad odor of the comfort room and the floor was not clean. There are only three comfort rooms to be used and only one shower room.
Cokaliong - This ship is way better because, in every comfort room, there are showers available and there's an automatic flush after using it. There are five rooms available here and all of them are functional.
Aside from those mentioned above about the good things about the Cokaliong Ship, what I also like in that ship is they have free charging stations, unlike Trans Asia where we need to pay 5 pesos every ten minutes so we could charge our phones.
That's all for now. This article was supposed to be published last night but I slept without finishing the draft I made so I just continue today since I was feeling hungry. I took a cup of coffee and then paired it with a Banana Bread.
