Easy on the gas! We all know that because of the war between Ukraine and Russia, price of oil has spiked which in turn affected the prices of other commodities especially basic needs like food. However, that is not what I want to talk about. I meant about taking your foot off the gas or the pedal – meaning taking it easy. I was doing my tasks today when I came across the term “foot off the gas.” When you drive a car and you want to go faster, your step on the accelerator pedal. Or say on a bicycle, you have to pedal harder to speed up. Vehicular accidents happen all the time just like the one posted in social media today wherein a vehicle crashed due to over speeding and losing control of the car, killing the driver and one other passenger instantly. The rest of the passengers have been rushed to the hospital. It happened early this morning when the streets are still empty. In this fast paced life where we want things to be done instantly – fast food, no-cook meals, instant noodles, instant transactions, instant success, instant earnings. Not only in trading do we have fear of missing out but also in real life. We try to compete with others because we want what they have or we want to have what they don’t so we can brag about it. We want to have everything all at once and immediately. We don’t have patience anymore. Then we complain of being stressed and tired. Naturally. We want everything to be done quickly. Stop. So, slow down. Don’t put too much pressure on yourselves all the time. Take a break. There is no race! You only end up racing to death if you push yourself too much. Just like the news earlier, when we see that the road is free, we speed up. Until we realize too late that we are going way faster than we ought to be. Don’t wait for your car, your body, to break down before saying enough. Take time to condition yourselves. Rest. Pamper yourselves. You deserve it. Because I had time earlier, I visited my family and of course checked out my sister's plants. This is just one side of the potted plants that my sister grows. These have been accumulated over time.
This is the strawberry lane. My sister said that every day someone would be checking for a fruit that is okay to eat. It could be her or the kids but the kids especially. I also get to play with our dogs who miss me giving them belly rubs. One of them gave birth to five pups last week. I hope they will all live healthy. I guess my internet is telling me to full stop. It is during these hours that it slows down. So time for me to bid you all good night.

Peep Go Slow Peep! Safety in road is very necessary and everyone should be responsible as some minutes of your thrill can cost you and others their life.
Even seconds are vital.
Buses that provide public transportation in the city and motorcycles that serve as food courier are the traffic nightmares here. We don't realize what a momentary inattention can cost us until it happens to us.
Same is true in bigger cities here in our country especially the capital.
Wow! Article, I love the way you explained using vehicles and traffic signals. We really should calm down and go a step at a time. Yeah, take our feet off the pedal. Rest and take some time off from all our hardwork.
This is relatable for we all are always on the rush to finish a lot of things at once.
It's quite common for one to feel that they have been left behind especially when they always compare themselves with other. If one could just stop and think how far he has come, he definitely would be proud
That's a tiring life if you always base yours to others.
Sad for the people who involve in the accident :(. Haste indeed makes waste. Life has no shorts cut and overworking can destroy our mind and body.
Nothing we can do but pray for their souls and their families.
I imagine foot on the gas and moving at high speed on a free road is an expression of freedom for some
Oh, yes and they are the ones who put everyone including themselves in harm's way.
I really love the thought of your article. In life, there's no race. We should know how to stop, slow down and rest. Everything will be worth it with patience.
That's it! :)
I would be very happy to visit your sister, how beautiful are her potted plants... there I would rest for a while contemplating such natural beauty.
Oh I'm sure you'll have lots to talk about regarding plants :D
Exactly, our success isn't a race, not even our death and so we should slow down and take a break. Anyway It's actually alarming that nowadays, those kinds of incidents happen most likely everyday. Reckless driving can took away life of innocent victims. And somehow there are also some drivers who are truly a trouble makers, as the way they drove their vehicles they really thought that they own the whole road.
Every driver should undergo test every so often and monitored without their knowledge. These reckless drivers are the ones putting our lives in danger.
Thoughts that we can gain lessons is here. It's right that our success isn't a race. Accepting the reality that every success we must undergoes with phases. Towards success accept failures and other outside forces that immobilize you to be in progress.
Well said!
Grabi, dead on the spot talaga.

I really like your article friend....we shouldn't just run after wining any race....rather than we should sometimes slow down, take rest with patience
You are absolutely right!
Yas! We all need to slow down and slack even for a bit. Thanks for the reminder.
Hirap i-balance minsan kung mag rest o continue and grind hehe.
Okay na walang rest basta nakapag grind hahah
Lol! Wag naman.
we are even just staying at home the past few days para save sa gas.. and when we are driving, we make sure to just have a steady speed
Over speeding tlaga kadalasan eh kya sana mg ingat din pg may time kasi once lng tayo nabubuhay.
Kaya nga e. Kaya ingat lagi.
Everything is going high now. Tough for us.
I hope the price of BCH will go high too :D
Life isn't all about speed. Slow down and observe too so you don't end up risking your life unnecessary. This is why I am always careful when in a bus and the driver is driving speedily, I simply tell him "I am not in a haste, slow down because we will definitely arrive at our destination".
Here, it's usually the younger ones that are speeding that's why they get reprimanded.
I pray my grandma learned it too that everything is not a race so she wouldn't put much pressure on me. 🤧
Oh my. Older people should take it slow.
