Hair loss is a real nightmare for both sexes. Don't let that happen. There are many things you can do preventively. Look no further! We have gathered all the solutions in this text!
Hair loss is a normal natural phenomenon. Each hair of hair goes through three developmental stages to eventually fall out of its follicle. Find out how it works in detail in our story that introduces you to the basic facts about hair.
So, just as it is normal for leaves to fall from trees so that new ones grow in the same place after winter dormancy, so old hair is replaced after a while by new hairs that have emerged from the same follicle.
As long as we lose 50-100 hairs a day, we are talking about normal hair loss that does not change anything in our appearance and the lushness of the hairstyle. At any given time, a certain percentage of hair is in a phase of decline, but that is why another percentage of them is in a phase of growth.
Sometimes, for various reasons, there is increased hair loss. That means you lose more than those 100 hairs, and sometimes that’s a lot more. Here you can get acquainted with the symptoms and causes of hair loss. In fact, it is only then that we talk about hair loss as a problem and possible hair loss.
The difference between hair loss and hair loss
What distinguishes hair loss from hair loss or baldness is the condition of the hair follicles.
With hair loss, we are talking about a still healthy and active follicle that is only momentarily thrown out of balance (such as hair loss after childbirth). In a while, with a little help and more careful care, it will return to normal and start producing healthy new hair.
Unfortunately, hair loss is about follicles that are no longer able to produce new hair. Sometimes this is also possible, but the recovery process is much more difficult and longer than with hair loss.
There are two scenarios for hair loss:
According to the first, a person loses hair on large parts of the scalp, which results in baldness. This is the most common model according to which hair loss occurs in men.
In women, hair loss is manifested in excessive hair loss after washing or combing, so that in the end there is so little hair left that the head can be seen through it. In this case, it is thinning hair.
Causes of hair loss
There are several factors that cause hair loss:
The following factors. Namely, if you are a man and your male ancestors were bald, you are more likely to become the holder of the same medal yourself. Certainly, this is not the rule. It would be better to say that men inherit the appearance of baldness, early appearance of gray hair, and the like with the quality of their hair. I want to say that if your father, for example, has thin, weak hair and bald early, and you inherited strong, lush hair from your mother, you are more likely to preserve her aging pattern when it comes to balding, gray hair, and the like.
Stress is a cause of hair loss that is often neglected and underestimated. It has been found that most people who suffer from prolonged stress or have experienced sudden severe stress have + problems with hair loss. You will find out why this happens in our text that deals with hair loss from stress.
Improper and poor nutrition can also cause hair loss. The scalp needs important nutrients to stay healthy and for the follicles to produce healthy hair. When the organism becomes poor in proteins, vitamins, minerals, the follicles simply remain without material for the growth of new hair, and the already existing hair begins to decline more and as a result, we have hair loss.
Sometimes hair loss occurs intermittently where the hair is lost but grows back. Severe illness, surgery, or a traumatic event, and life can cause hair loss. However, after a dramatic period of life passes, the hair will begin to grow back without treatment.
Hormonal changes, for example:
Strangeness
Childbirth
Discontinuation of the contraceptive pill
Menopause
Diseases such as:
Thyroid disease
alopecia areata (an autoimmune disease that attacks hair follicles)
Scalp infection
Diseases that cause scarring such as lupus.
Medications for treatment:
Cancer
High blood pressure
Arthritis
Depression
Heart disease
Physical or emotional shock, such as:
Death in the family
Sudden weight loss
High temperature
Hair loss can also be caused by the way you style your hairstyle. Too frequent or constant wearing of a tight ponytail, tightly braided braids, and buns causes hair to be pulled from the follicles.
Improper hair care
It seems to me that most of the lines I will need to explain this cause of hair loss.
Rough handling of hair during washing. Here are the rules for washing hair
Hot stylers, presses, irons, Figaro curlers, hair dryers.
Inadequate hair care and care products
Aggressive hair dyes
Other chemical treatments
Hair loss due to hairspray
Hair loss due to keratin
Hair loss in menopausal women
Menopause is a natural biological process that every woman goes through at some point in her life. For some, menopause happens quite early, for others later. During this period, which doctors claim lasts for a full 10 years, a woman's body goes through numerous physical changes while adapting to oscillations in hormone levels.
Unfortunately, many women have a number of unpleasant symptoms such as hot flashes, insomnia, and mood swings.
It often occurs as a consequence of menopausal hair loss.
Hair loss is generally more subtle in women than in men. Most women experience increased hair loss instead of noticeable bald spots. Thinning can occur on the front, side, or top of the head. Hair can also fall out in large strands during brushing and showering.
Research suggests that hair loss during menopause is the result of a hormonal imbalance. In particular, it is associated with reduced production of estrogen and progesterone. These hormones help hair grow faster and stay on the head longer. When estrogen and progesterone levels fall, hair grows more slowly and becomes thinner. A decrease in these hormones also triggers an increase in the production of androgens or a group of male hormones. Androgens shrink hair follicles, resulting in hair loss on the scalp. However, in some cases, these hormones can cause more facial hair to grow. As a result, some menopausal women develop "bushy" facial hair and persistently growing chin hair. In this case, we are talking about androgenic alopecia.
Scalp inflammation and hair loss
Unfortunately, there is a lot of pain lurking on each side that can cause hair loss.
Folliculitis is an inflammation of the hair follicles. It is usually caused by staphylococcal bacteria or fungi. It can appear on your skin wherever hair grows, including the scalp. In addition to causing itchy pimples on the skin, it can also cause hair loss.
Use a daily rehydrating scalp toner that contains ingredients such as sodium salicylate - an anti-inflammatory and anti-irritant that helps soothe the scalp, as well as moisturizing scalp masks that contain aloe. And of course, wash your hair with mild natural shampoos without sulfate to avoid irritation of the scalp and inflammation of the follicles.
These were the causes of hair loss that are important to be aware of. And now - the answer to no less important question:
We will not deal much with the treatment of hair loss here. Your doctor will probably prescribe creams and gels that are rubbed into the scalp where hair loss is present. Most often, these drugs contain the ingredient minoxidil.
What I want to emphasize is the prevention of hair loss. Some personal stories can really sober us up and let us know how simple changes bring fantastic results. This is the story:
How I reduced my hair loss and thickened it again!
Prevention is important primarily because once you lose your hair, it is difficult to restore it to its previous state.
That is why guided by the popular saying that it is better to prevent than to cure - the following are tips for preventing hair loss.
Adequate care
By adequate care we mean gentle handling of hair when washing, drying, styling. Hair is an organ of your body. Just because it doesn't hurt doesn't mean it's insensitive. The attitude that no matter what you do to her, new healthy hair will always grow on her, is also wrong.
