Wrongly Convicted
Mistakes are mistakes, some may be more impactful than others but they are all the same. Can you imagine being suspected by others just because of a mistake? That's just horrible. But the worse part is, those mistaken people are too lazy to even correct the mistake, or maybe they just don't give a damn. Damn, I know I'm lazy. I like being lazy, but there are some things that being lazy shouldn't be accepted on. There are some jobs and profession that being lazy shouldn't be tolerated. They just shouldn't. Just like being a policeman for example. Example, you're solving a murder case. You don't have a solid lead, and you are too lazy to do the necessary leg work to solve the case. Instead, you just create your own patsy and intimidate or coerce that person into an admission of guilt. Guilt unfortunately can be manipulated. It can be played at. Just being able to survive without doing anything can make you feel guilty. Also, guilt can be forced upon you. Especially if your mental capacities and capabilities are limited. Limited in a way that you can't defend or shield yourself from malicious prosecutions. You can just imagine those people who are mentally challenged. Yeah, just like that movie Miracle in Cell No. 7. It was a grea tearjerker and until now, I haven't had the heart to watch it again. Again, what happen in films are sometimes based in reality. That thing that happened in that movie also happened to another person in a different yet similar instance. In the movie, a mentally challenged person was sent to jail for rape and murder because the pressure to get a conviction is immense. It was politically charged and everyone involved just went along with it. It is mostly the same with the documentary I watched. A mentally challenged guy was also sent to prison for allegedly murdering two girls. Aside from being politically charged, he had the misfortune to be picked by crooked policemen to be the bad guy. The policemen were too lazy to investigate and they just did what a policeman shouldn't do to people just to squezze out a confession. Confession should be airtight like an alibi. But the confession the guy delivered was full of holes and the authorities don't even care. Several lawyers appealed forcthe guy, even a chief of police was ready to vet the guy, and also, the previous prosecutor that was against him agreed that there is a possibility that the guy was innocent, still, those aren't enough to even give the guy the chance of a fair trial. Trial by fire is what happened. Since he was already burned, they didn't care to think of another possibility. And it didn't even matter that another guy confessed to the killings. They just shrugged it off as nothing. The second guy even new details that only the killer wouls know. Still, they didn't care. Care should have been given, but there's none. The guy died in prison with a repetitive rejections of the supreme court for his appeals. I just can't believe that what happens in movies can really happen in real life, it's sad, and it's scary. Scary to think that people who are wielding such powers over other human beings aren't vetted properly. It's just...ugh. Crazy. Crazy that you read it through here and didn't have a clue about what it was I was blabbering about. This is just a little reaction to the video I just watched about a mentally challenged man that was wrongfully accused and died in prison trying to prove his innocence, but the persons who could've right the wrongdoings didn’t care.

It's outraging! I know, it's just a reaction on a video but then, as you have said, this can happen in real life too. This is happening in real life! I don't even want to think about it. People suffering because of the incompetence of those that are in authority.

Where then is justice and fairness? I know someone who's at prison right now when he's supposed to continue his studies and graduate and become a contributing citizen in society but those who have the power took that privilege from him. He has a long way to go as supposed but now he is stuck. A lot of people know that he's not capable of doing drugs but he was framed by those who have rich parents. He told the police the truth, but they are too lazy to do further investigation. The son of a farmer who was supposed to be his parent's pride became someone who is named as a drug user and seller.
exactly!!! what a cruel world we live in. It's truly a rich man's world.
Truly is. If you're poor you are prohibited from human rights. Justice is only for those who are born rich.

Justice system is no longer fair in this world, why those criminals are freely going outside than those people who doesn't deserve to be inside the prison.

Hays.. Hindi talaga deserve ng mga hay0p na ito na mapunta sa justice system. I watched a Kdrama with a similar instance, pero may parang Alzheimer's yung diniin kasi yun nga, syempre blur na memories nya. Ah basta nakakaawa talaga. :(

Pagmay pera at power prof dili talaga makukuha ang justice kaya yung iba na walang kasalan siya pa yung nabubulok sa bilangguan. Ewan ko nalang talaga sa batas natin.
The law is okay, there's already so many laws to ponder, what we need is to have good law enforcers, in every sense of the word

This is a sad reality and some people na nakulong na for years tapos mapprove na di naman talaga guilty. Parang ninakawan na sila ng kinabukasan sa mga taong nakakulong sila na sana masaya silang namumuhay. Haaaaay
true. I just can't imagine how a person who was wrongly convicted and then exonerated after so many years. Like, what is he gonna do with his life now? This is a man left by the time with no savings and no hireable skills, what would you expect this guy to do? I think, the state should reimburse him or compensate him for all the years that he lost.
The sad reality. We can only cringe at the situation but if it happens to us. It would be awful. We have to bear in mind that there is social responsibility behind this.

This happens when the wrong people are given power to make decisions. It is not just real but happened many times in history and still happens. It takes only someone that has the time and money to help those that were wrongly accussed, find evidence, find the errors in trials and discover the truth.
Yeah.. and what sucks is, most times, the wrong kind of people have the power
