Her Blue Eyes

Staring into her blue eyes is just staring right into the depth of the sea or the vastness of the skies, it was calming, it was comfortable and it was mesmerizing. I just couldn't resist gazing into her soul.

"Hey what?! Aren't you gonna watch Tom?" Jessie said as she turned to Tom. They were cozily cuddled up on the couch while trying to watch a movie on Netflix. Her legs were on top of his lap while they were covered by a thick blanket. Tom always love their downtime since they could just chill together as such.

Their intimate moment was disturbed by a buzz at the door. They turned to it at the same time.

"Are you expecting someone babe?" Jessie inquired.

"Nope, are you?" Tom answered. He got up carefully and walked up to the door. He cautiously peeked through the peephole and there was no one there.

He then stepped back and noticed that there were two little black envelopes on the floor. He bent down to pick them up. Each envelope was addressed to each of them.

"Babe, look at this." he then gave one of them to Jessie.

He opened his envelope and he realized that it was an invitation to a party of some sort on a cruise ship. And of course, it was identical to Jessie's.

They were confused. They were both looking at each other and as usual, they agreed that it was an adventure they could share, just by the look in each other's eyes they know that they were thinking of the same thing. That's also what made their relationship works like magic for almost 3 years now. They were able to agree on almost everything, of course, there were the occasional bickerings but nothing that a warm meal or a piece of shiny jewelry couldn't fix.

They decided to go and on the night of the party, they found themselves at the port where they would be embarking.

The cruise ship looked so elegant on the outside and it was on par with the infamous Titanic. They were met by a lady in front who was dressed in a tux.

Tom and Jessie presented their invitations and they were welcomed aboard by the receptionist. They ascended the stairs leading to the ship which was covered in a red carpet. It was extravagantly fabulous.

An usher met them as they went aboard and they were guided to the dining hall inside of the ship.

And they were grateful because they weren't underdressed for the place. The hall was filled with a lot of people, some were already seated and dining, some were walking about, and some were already drinking at the bar.

The couple was shown to their seats and they were joined by two other people.

"Hey! I know you!" the guy seated across them told Tom.

Tom squinted his eyes trying to place the face in a place that he is familiar with.

"Oh hey! A guy from the gym?" Tom inquired.

"Yeah! Guy from the gym, that's me! My friends call me Ben though, but 'guy from the gym' sounds like me too." he replied as he extended his arm for a handshake.

"This is Jessie, my fiancee. And this is..." Tom was pertaining to the other guy seated in front of the table. He was wearing a pair of thick glasses and he looked very timid, he just nodded and said softly, "Calvin".

"Nice to meet you, Calvin."

"Oh hey Jess, wanna check out the bar first?" Tom suggested.

"Sure." the lady replied.

"You guys want anything?" Tom asked their company.

"Nah, we're alright." Ben answered and Calvin nodded in agreement.

As the couple walked toward the bar, Ben commented on them, "what a lovely couple, those matching blue eyes, they almost look a lot like each other. Are you familiar with that saying Calvin? How does it go again? When you are meant for each other, you will begin to look a lot like each other? Is that it?"

"Hmm-hmmm." Calvin agreed.

"Uh-huh."

They sat at the bar and ordered drinks. It was open bar. No matter where and how you look at it, it's an extravagant evening. And the night took a mysterious turn when the lights went out.
