It almost stings to post this one in RetroGaming, but 1999 was over 20 years ago. 😱 This is a memory card for the Sega Dreamcast, known as a Visual Memory Unit (VMU). Having some trouble with that Nintendospy I'm tying to build. I've isolated the problem to something with the clock pin... but I have no idea what the issue is. - I've checked the continuity of each wire a thousand times and know they're all making connections - I've checked for shorts just as many times and haven't found any - As soon as I plug the clock pin into the Arduino, the NES output goes grey. I don't get it, but I'm not gonna throw the towel in just yet.

Finally got my guitar back from my father-in-law. This is a BC Rich Warlock (the basic model without the whammy or the cool headstock), I bought it back in like 2005 I think? Got it off the internet before buying things online was cool 😂 The only real work I've done to it was swapping out the BC Rich pickups for Seymour Duncan pickups. It rips so hard, though lol. Now I just have to find some time to play again.

Took a mental health break from work today. Felt like crap this morning and decided to take the day off to just recover and unwind. Was a pretty good day! Definitely went overboard on the take out today. Bought some non-big-franchise donuts today. Tim Horton's is seriously overrated. Ended the day with some amazing Chicken Biryani and garlic naan.

This month I learned how to solder. I'm still not great at it, but the stuff I did was acceptable for what I needed. Got my RetroSpy working 100% now. Ended up needing to buy a new board, and holy poop is it small! Been trying to study up on the TMNT speedrun path for NES so I can start running the game. Been watching somebody run it multiple times a day every morning for the past couple of weeks on Twitch and it's kind of become part of my morning ritual. AYY! Last night I got around to beating Ninja Gaiden on the NES. It wasn't easy, and I resorted to being a dirty savestate user to get through the last few levels, but maybe one day I'll be able to run it like the pros. As incredibly frustrating as the game is, there's something satisfying about the way the ninja controls, and the way that all the enemies (except for bosses) are single-hit kills. #RetroGaming #NES #Nintendo #NinjaGaiden

Went shopping yesterday. Really regret not getting back hear, but I'm not sure where I'd put them. Maybe I'll go back and get them anyway lol. They were like $17/EA. Made a new batch of taco seasoning. Always reminds me of that sand art we used to make as kids. There's something satisfying about seeing all the ingredients layered together before it all gets mixed up. Definitely the best batch I've made to date.
