Having some trouble with that Nintendospy I'm tying to build. I've isolated the problem to something with the clock pin... but I have no idea what the issue is. - I've checked the continuity of each wire a thousand times and know they're all making connections - I've checked for shorts just as many times and haven't found any - As soon as I plug the clock pin into the Arduino, the NES output goes grey. I don't get it, but I'm not gonna throw the towel in just yet.

it can be a driver-sink problem. the output driver is rated at a given mA. If you put other chip on the sink side the original+arduino pulls too much current and the driver cant keep up. check the clock pin output current and voltage in the datasheet. then check the input pin current draws. maybe you will need a booster or an optoisolator in the mix
