This month I learned how to solder. I'm still not great at it, but the stuff I did was acceptable for what I needed. Got my RetroSpy working 100% now. Ended up needing to buy a new board, and holy poop is it small! I was originally trying with an Arduino Mega, figuring it would be simple to work with - the board is fairly large and the headers are already soldered in... but alas, for whatever reason it didn't work. So as suggested by somebody else in the community, I bought a 3-pack of Nano boards. The downside is that you have to solder in the headers yourself, and the thing is suuuper tiny. But hey, I got great results in the end! Now I have to tweak the graphic a bit and integrate it into my OBS scenes. #Hack #Tinker #DIY #RetroGaming #Arduino

I used to solder a lot, I have three different 'guns' for various types of work, but I can't see these days (I should really make an appointment to get glasses) and I can't hold my hands steady enough for delicate jobs.
My biggest challenge right now is because I don't have any clips or clamps to hold things in place, so I kept accidentally moving things when I was trying to solder them.
Trying to hold something in place while holding the soldering iron in one hand and the solder in another is a tricky little bitch ain't it?
Every time I go to the grocery store and they ask if I want bags, I ask if they're offering extra arms instead... Maybe one day. 😂
are you assembling something or doing some inventions man? I heard about arduino before and its used for programming or something related to robotic projects
If I tried to do that, I'd wind up with a blob of metal and melted plastic.
