Feminism, A Misused Freedom

This may come as a surprise to many, since it's coming from a lady, but we can't just watch our beautiful society being eroded due to negligence and taste for equality. Recently, I watched a movie it was centered mainly on gender equality. 

I was comfortable with it, but seeing how the whole scene turned out made me realized the downside of feminism. It's amazing when We are treated same way like the male folk but when it gets weird is when we begin to attack the male folk.

What is Feminism ?

Before I continue, Feminism in a layman term is simply the equality of rights between both gender, in the absence of discrimination.

This definition made sense while it was still fresh in our minds, and not in today's world were the struggle is over the dominance of one gender over the other. I know you will be thinking its that male gender am talking about , but it's my own gender I meant. News of ladies taking feminism to the extreme is no longer new, some weeks ago I heard of a lady who slapped a guy simply because he mistakenly stepped on her in a restaurant, claiming equal right. It was an awful sight to behold but what will we say, should we defend her action because she is of her gender ? Definitely not.

Feminism was standing up to support women to be treated equally and not to instill rudeness, reckless lifestyle and inappropriate fashion style in our society. I believe a lot of the hardcore feminist have heard about the 'no bra movement' , it's cool by me, most times I don't wear them, but wearing transparent dresses without your bra is insane to me. What picture are we portraying? That feminism was a movement for ladies to show how uncultured they are, or was it a bait to get unmannered men punished ? Heard of rape cases due to inappropriate dressing, I will blame it on the new feminism revolution.

Women now turn marriages into a goldmine, where they go in and be paid heavily after a divorce. Being in a relationship is now an affair of however my partner treats me, same will I treat him. Where is the morales, where is the love, where is the respect we once had. Am not trying to say, we should be turned into slaves but if we could see gender equality as not a tool of disrespect, cheating and being untamed, then our society will be a better place. There is no such happiness like being surprised by a wife but now, we wait until our husband does it first, before we do it too. Feminism wasn't to be used as a tool for disunity.

The male folks are now scared of being seeing as sexist, so he is careful of the kind of jokes, play or discussions he makes with the female folk. Let's not deceive ourselves they are still a ton of men out there who will not disrespect you while making a joke, but who wants to try it.

Am not trying to subject women to be used as a tool for fun, joke or slavery but all am saying, the freedom we once fought for is now enslaving us. Let us raise up and build a world where we could associate freely with our counterparts without fear, hatred or prejudice. Let love lead. Truly, we were created to be equal but not superior to the males, the bible still admonishes us to be respectful to the males, as they are the head of the family. 

Ps: I was no where trying to instigate any gender tussle or argument in this article, please let's see it as an educational tool and not an avenue to channel our grievance. Once again, let love lead.
