Be Kind, It comes back 10 Fold!!

There was a small wooded area near a village where animals and trees shared a peaceful space to live and among the trees, were two trees, one was a massive Mango tree and another one is a humongous Banyan tree. The mango tree is a very sweet and kind tree where as the banyan tree was known for it's pride for being so massive among all other trees. Things are going like this when one day a Queen Bee who had lost it's bee nest to a cyclone approached the banyan tree and requested,

"could you please give me some space in one of your branches? so that I can start constructing a bee hive from the start, I brought all my bee friends here, please, we do not have any other place to go and live. Kindly help us"

And the banyan tree instantly got irritated and yelled at the queen bee to leave the place immediately and never to return back as it refused to give any kind of support to the bees. The queen been was crying and sad as it started to leave the place when the mango tree called upon the bee and told

"oh my dear queen bee, I'm not as massive as the banyan tree, but I'm also a huge tree and you can build your house on my branches and all your bee friends can live on me"

The queen bee was elated to hear this and was so happy. Days went by like this while the mango tree was sharing all it's fruits with all the animals in the forest while the banyan tree refused to even provide a single shade to any animal ever and always shouted at everyone.

One fine day, two wood cutters from the near by village arrived in the middle of the forest as they wanted to cut few trees for to store wood for coming winters.. They looked at the mango tree and thought "what a beautiful tree and wood, let us cut this one". The queen bee heard this conversation from the top and called upon all it's bees and started attacking the two men.. They were scared to even stand there for another second and ran away to the opposite direction to avoid those bees. The mango tree thanked the bee and the bees smiled..

The two men finally stopped running and took shade under a tree and they looked up to see the tree while their mouths dropped. They had never ever seen such a massive tree in their whole lives and one of them said

"If we cut this tree and take it back home, forget this winter, we can keep wood for several winters and also sell some in the market and make some money for us"

And the men were excited to do so. They started cutting the tree and even collected some branches. Some time passed and the banyan tree started crying out of pain while the mango tree heard the cries and immediately begged the queen bee to help. The kind queen bee once again summoned all the bees and started attacking the men, this time more ferociously and thus they dropped all their tree cutting equipment and ran off from the forest. The rabbits and deers who ate the mangoes came collectively and gathered all the knives and axes and threw them in the river near to the jungle..

The banyan tree was so ashamed of how it treated everyone but when time came, everyone helped it instead of throwing the same hate it showed towards everyone. The tree apologized to other trees, birds and all animals and promised to be nice and kind towards others from now on. Several days passed by and hundreds of birds started flocking on the banyan tree with so many nests and animals taking shade under the tree.. Rabbits also made their burrows under the tree and they all lived happily ever after....

This one another story my daughter told me which I felt was so thought provoking to share with this amazing community. I'm actually glad she is learning about kindness and being polite from the videos she is watching.. and how true is this, kindness only brings kindness back to us. Being sweet and polite does not make us lose anything in life. In return, we earn a lot of affection and respect from others towards us, which I honestly believe the true purpose of life, is to be remembered among people that we are good enough and was kind as long as we lived :))
