The GroundWater Level Is Decreasing
Are you aware of this new type of crisis that is hitting many cities in the world? The crisis of decreasing water level. The whole Earth is half-covered with water bodies yet only 1% of it is available for human consumption and 70% of it is deep inside the Earth which we call groundwater. The wells, lakes, and handpumps are the sources from which we get groundwater for human consumption. And now we have a boring system in which we dug down deep and fit the motor and from that, we suck out water from the Earth and use it for ourselves.
I have been talking over this topic for more than 5 years in different platforms that our groundwater level is decreasing, tried a lot to tell and aware people living in luxuries that don't waste water. We have only one source.
And now, I can see that my words are coming true.
I saw on the news two days ago that in Chennai, India in some major parts of the cities the water level has gone to 2000ft, can you imagine it? To get water there they had to dig that deep. And this can't be fake as a year ago I read they had to dug 1000ft to get water.

Another Proof:-
I have one more piece of solid proof our groundwater level is decreasing in cities where mostly every house does a boring and get water from the ground for their consumption. Wells and supply water are a secondary source for them.
At the place where my father bought land, there were four plots available to purchase. The first one who purchased got the water at 90ft only during the boring process. The next one got at 100ft. The third one got at 210ft and at last, us we got at 350ft but we settled for more than 100ft to avoid any shortage. And all this happened in the 2-year time frame. There are lots of houses around us and every one of them had a groundwater boring system installed.
Why The GroundWater level Isn't Rising?
I too asked myself this question a lot of time and I concluded that the environment is giving back Earth enough water from the Water Cycle, rain as when I start the motor in the rainy season the water comes out in seconds while in rest of the seasons it takes minutes to come out. The reason it's not rising is that water consumption by humans is increasing at a very fast rate. 1% water is a non-renewable resource though we say water is a renewable resource because we can get it back from the water cycle. But the way we are consuming it and the groundwater levels not increasing is a sign we are digging our own graves and going in the wrong direction.
Solution:-
Rainwater harvesting is there to decrease our consumption from such sources or we can ultimately act responsible and use less water or use water when required.
This problem is rising mainly in crowded cities.
Final Thoughts
I would say this is a serious matter which governments of every country should consider. As water is among the most essential things of which we can't survive. The first place to dry up will be the crowded cities. And no, don't tell me nature can take care of itself. Can't you see the examples of decreasing water levels?
Act responsibly, that's all I can say. And sorry I'm very impulsive when I see anyone wasting water unnecessarily as I have read and seen how people struggle to get water in certain places.

This is true. This is one of the disadvantage of having a new technology. Before people only depends on the rain water to drink and water from the rivers to wash the dishes and do the laundry. But now since the water is being supplied in the household with just one tap or turning on the faucet and showers then people can use it freely and not saving water at all. May everyone knew about it.
