This Too Shall Pass
How often do you get tired up in an impossible situation?? Not often, I hope. There are a lot of people on this planet who seem to have everything working together just to favour them. We all have that kind of people around us. Sometimes, we get caught up in impossible situations, and instead of thinking about the solution, we can't help but look at these people who seem to have it easy in life and wonder why our cases are different. That's bad enough, but there are still those who have it much worse. They seem to move from one impossible situation to another, and at some point, you just have to wonder, how do I get out of this?
The default response is to worry and panic, and that's human. But over time, I've come to know that the first response to negative emotions is usually the worst choice. There are other ways to deal with such situations, and I've developed a few for myself that I'll like to share with you. So, how do I deal with impossible situations?
A Mentality Of This Too Shall Pass
The first step I use when the odds seem stacked against me is to change the way I see the problem. When we have these kinds of situations, all we see is a humongous mountain that we can't climb. But we forget that almost if not all mountains usually have a cave that cut in and through them. In your panic mode, you only see the obvious mountain(problem), and not the cave in it(solution). You have to learn to be in control of your mind, as it's one of the most powerful tools humans have. With it, we can reprogramme our sense of reality and make things happen for us. When the odds are stacked up against me, what I do is constantly tell myself that this situation 'will not kill me' and if it will not kill me, then it shall pass. As long as there's life, there's hope. So, stop panicking and instead focus your mind on finding a solution.
Trivialize The Problem
One of the benefits of having a mentality of this too shall pass, is that it makes the problem pale in significance to the entire scheme of your life. Such a mentality helps to increase you such that, you become multiple times bigger than the problem, hence it is less of an issue to you. Learn to reduce the problem mentally, because as long as you think the problem is huge and insurmountable, your mind won't be able to go to work on finding a solution to deal with it. After all, it's easier to stage resistance against a group of people if you think they are just six than if you think that is twenty. Reduce the problem, by telling yourself it's not much of a big deal. The benefit of this is that your brain can now redirect resources used for unnecessary worrying, toward dealing with the problem.
Conclusion
We will always encounter situations that make us question if God Is real or fair if we are good enough or not etc. The truth is we have to learn to be patient. We have to learn to focus less on the problem rather than the solution, cos eventually, that problem will pass. Are you in debt and have no way to pay, that too shall pass; is your relationship/marriage going through a tough time, that too shall pass; is your father fighting for his life and freedom, that too shall pass; is your asthmatic mom on the verge of having high blood pressure, that too shall pass. Whatever the situation, always remember and believe that this too shall pass!

There is an adage that says "You cannot stop a bird from flying over your head but you can prevent that bird from nesting there." There are some troubles we can't escape and when they come we just have to make the most of it. It won't be easy at all and we should know that it would pass. As I always tell myself, "It won't always rain, there will be sunshine soon."
