Interest Vs Belief.
Village is sweet especially having people around you to make it fun. Everything is been provided for and we just only have to get them prepared. The Harmattan and the Cold has become something else to me. My hands are stiffed and can't even type anything due to the weather in the village. I am using my voice to type why I will do the remaining editing later. It's just two days remaining for year 2021 to get out while we welcome a beautiful and great year 2022. Have you made your plans? Have you thought of what to do and to be consistent in it? Yesterday I made my resolutions and I still have some written, so I pray to stick by them.
"One person with a belief is equal to ninety-nine who have only interests."
- John Stuart Mill
There is a substantial difference between Interest and Belief. While Interest means what you are curious to do or know, or what you are attracted to, Belief is like a mindset. Having a belief in something means having confidence in it and trying your possible best to resolve the problem. When you are interested in doing something, and it does not bring in the result you expected, there would be less urge in accomplishing the task unlike having to believe in yourself. An interest can fade at anytime when there is nothing good coming forth but when a person works with his belief, there would surely be a change, because such a person wouldn´t want to leave until arriving at a good point.
We all know there wouldn´t be any problem if there is no solution. When there is a problem, there will definitely be a solution to it.
My reasons to juxtapose Interest vs Belief goes thus;
When We Do Something With Belief, We Set In Our Mind To Do It
Have you seen a successful man without a belief? Those who succeed are the ones who believe in themselves. There is this quote by Napoleon Hills that says "what the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve." No matter what you want to do, once you have the belief that something great will happen, it will, because believing is a strong intuition that can never give up except you only have the interest which will eventually make you fed up and stop halfway. Do you also know your belief in a task can make others believe too? When you give your reasons to other people and make them understand the power of belief, they will also reason that and would make the work achievable.
We Don´t Get Discouraged When Things Do Not Work Out
There is power in belief that it makes you continue even if you fail many times. Without been frustrated because nothing is showing forth, you have the belief that one day, with your consistency, there would be a solution. My laptop touchpad wasn´t working since yesterday which I knew there was a problem and I only needed to find solution to it. I did all I could do myself but nothing was happening, I left it with the aim that something can be done later. This morning, I called my sister to help me out and we both searched through Youtube and Google, trying to look for ways. I could have left the system alone and make use of my phone, but I didn´t. After several minutes, we found the solution. I was even thinking if I would spend money to repair a new system again but we tried it and it worked. I believed it would work and it did. If I had got discouraged, I wouldn´t have found a solution to it.
We Also Inspire Others With Our Belief
Let´s take for instance, You as a leader only have interest in a task and you set your team to work with you. Along the way, you aren´t seeing result, then you get frustrated and stopped the work, your team will also stop because they aren´t seeing who to motivate them. Success attracts a person and when they read about a particular person´s journey to success, they would also get inspired to do what he did. Our beliefs would inspire others and serves as a motivation to another.
