Come on, let's explore!!!
“Good company in a journey makes the way seem shorter.”
I don't even know what to say or which to choose between the two; either to travel alone or in groups. Since I have thought about this and I have always wished for it, it would be travelling in groups because it is way merrier. After all, they say “the more, the merrier right?”
All my life of travelling, it has been me alone in public transport except on some rare cases where I would get to travel with friends or in groups.
While growing up, my Dad had a car with which we all would travel every year and with my siblings, I know how fun it was till we get to our destination. It wasn't anyway boring at all.
I could remember travelling with my friends for our teaching practice in another state, we laughed and talked in the bus till we got to where we were going and we felt we were disturbing other passengers in the bus but we didn't care at all. All we had was fun and fun.
Whenever I am travelling alone, it is always unlively for me and many times boring that I would only plug in my earpiece and start listening to music and at some point, I get tired of music and would switch to movies but in the end, I would find myself looking out through the windows to feed myself with things outside the bus.
Many times, I would be jealous of people who are in groups chatting and would feel like joining them but I don't dare to jump into any discussion I wasn't called into, except my opinions are sought for which I would also be happy interacting with them and when we all get to our destinations, we bid ourselves goodbye.
My younger sister knows how to start up a conversation whenever she is travelling alone and I wonder how she does it but I, never. I am that shy.
I love travelling in groups as it makes it more interesting till we reach where we are going. The journey wouldn't be boring and it would be as if the bus should keep moving to who knows where and keep talking.
There is no way we won't have different topics to touch on.... ranging from life's issues to relationships; what we'd do if ever we encounter any issue in a relationship blablabla and it looks more entertaining when other people in the bus would have to join and everyone would burst into laughter.
There is this enthusiasm in you when you get to travel in groups with your friends or colleagues in school or at work as different laughter would start flowing out and it makes the journey bubbles and lively. Even the driver would be excited too.
When one of us got wedded in February, we planned and went in groups to celebrate with her in another state. We hired a cab that conveyed us to the exact place and having a guy among us made it fun. The driver who carried us knew he did take some set of people because we could observe that he also enjoyed the chitchat and gist.
When we were returning, this time around, we took a public transport bus and other passengers knew some people boarded with them as we kept shouting and arguing over some unnecessary talks about marriage and relationships. We had the best moment together as we wished such a journey shouldn't end.
Benefits of travelling in groups to me
It drives away shyness.
It makes me bold to talk.
It makes me take as many pictures with people without being scared.
It brings comfort to me being around other people we come across with.
It builds more connection and communication.
It creates happiness.
I meet and interact with new people.
We explore things together and learn.
One advantage that I love about travelling in groups is that you learn a lot, especially as the writer that I am. I love paying attention to things being discussed because I get inspiration from there and would love to make or form an article from it.
As a writer, both helps though because you can derive inspiration from whatever you encounter while travelling.
Travelling alone, you get inspired with no one distracting you. Travelling in groups, you get inspired by different topics being raised and that could help you make up something and chip into what you observed in such topics.

Whenever I'm traveling on a public transport, I always end up making a new friend on the way and we would end up exchanging numbers... In fact, when ever I'm about embarking on a trip, I would just be feeling excited cos already know that I would definitely get to meet someone who would become part of my life 😄
