Yesterday's incidence frightened me again as if I haven't been hearing about it before. It's death. I don't like hearing the death of someone I know or close to me, it gives me the sad emotion that I don't easily take it off.
The death of my colleague yesterday was another thing entirely and a black Friday for my department. He was involved in a ghastly accident on his bike and was rushed to trauma center. He was pronounced dead yesterday morning and after some minutes, we were told he blinked and immediately was attended to and was responding to treatment until he finally gave up.
Just three months to graduate with us, death took him away. What a great loss to our department and the family. It was really sad and pathetic but what do we do?
He would be the second student to die in my department now and we are left to question death why he would just take this man away from us at the verge of his graduation?
This is why we always pray to God never to allow death show up when we are making it or about to do something great.
Why would death show up suddenly when we do not expect it?
Why should death disgrace us by taking someone we are looking up to?
Why didn't death come announcing to us that he is coming for us?
Inasmuch as we understand that the wicked will perish, does it takes along the innocent too?
Shouldn't there be difference between the impeccant and the flagitious?
It was another moment for me to rethink about my life yesterday and checking how I have lived it and how I will still live it because I don't know when it would be but I never prayed or wished for it to be soon.
But it is really ludicrous to see a parent who had suffered so hard to bring up a child to a level he or she would start helping the parent and death comes knocking without being informed, and then snatch such child away. Just like that? Unto a world no one knows.
Oh death! What if we keep begging?
Oh death! What if we know your abomination?
Oh death! Don't you think it's too early to take the young and innocent ones away?
Oh death! What if you had come with a stern warning for such individual, he would know what to do to avoid you (death)
But do we have a choice? We all are indebted to death and we will all taste death one day.
The best is to keep checking our lives to see how we have lived it. Be good to people so your name would forever be remembered.
Do you know a good name is better than riches and wealth?
You may have wealth and be stickingly rich but when you die without protecting your name, it is useless because no one would talk about you in a good way but bad way.
In fact, if you are poor and you lived a wicked life, your name will be rubbed off the earth.
The best is to protect your name so well either you are rich or not.
My colleague who died was a shock to everyone because he was still in school on Monday to Wednesday until the bad incidence. People started talking about the good he has done. I know his name will forever be remembered in their hearts.
It's another weekend here again. I don't want to dwell too much on death but I know we all would start thinking and praying for the best in our lives. I pray no one would die before his time in our families.
Despite what happened yesterday, I was still in a happy mood because at the end of the day, I was able to quote the scripture that says "in everything, give thanks to God".
Yes, despite what has happened, we can't bring the dead back but give thanks to God especially we that we are still alive.
Let's be reminded that without working hard, we won't achieve the best. Though, it is not of him that willeth or runneth, but it is of God that showeth mercy. Do your best and leave the rest to Him. Do not overwork yourself. When you have done what you need to do and are satisfied with it but no result yet, just look up to God and commit into His hand.
God also knows you have tried but you need to relax and give your body rest when need be.

We all know that no one knows our death exempt God. As long as we lived, we must give a good legacy to people, because if we die. People remembered us.
