Wide-eyed Wednesday I don't like this Wednesday. Don't get me wrong. The day has not been concluded yet and I am pretty sure I still will end up being okay with it. I am typing this mid day. And I have to because I am being stressed out - by none other than my overthinking self. Just few hours back (it is safer to count the hours as I cannot at this point get my head to really count how many days back), I have been asking myself what are my pet peeves the question being drawn out by Bloghound's article. I have a lot of pet peeves. But like I also commented there, they seem to hide from me when I start to name them one by one. https://read.cash/@Bloghound/annoyances-and-pet-peeves-a5e035df Now that I am being stressed out, I repeat, by none other than my glorious overthinking self - caffeinated or not (but I am caffeinated twice as of typing by the measure of my small cute clear cup). They are volunteering to out themselves - some of them at least! *What is running through my overthinking head?* I reviewed my past email with a lead regarding me being picked for some sort of "meeting" representing the team. This is one of my pet peeve : ***I do not like being volunteered to an event that I do not like the agenda or do not care about.*** But I have to, right? Everyone else got volunteered for it. And at some point in your professional life you have to say yes to such and also because weighing the tasks, I have the bandwidth to accommodate. But it takes a lot of energy to accept that ***attention***. I do not like spotlights that do not fall under the "fun" category. And it is going to happen. Today. I was primed, alright. Days before, I was informed of what is going to take place. But being primed does not tame my panicking, pissed self. First of, the activity will not help me with my task or deadline. It will break my concentration on what I was doing. That is one thing that I do not like about daily checkups as well. I so not like being micro managed. Second, that's talking to strangers! Talking to strangers who I feel have some kind of hidden agenda. What if I turn out to be a Jeremy (reference here in case you haven't read. Yes this is a plug portion. ) and start saying things I should not say? https://read.cash/@Pichi28/honest-stupidity-stupid-honesty-d2dcd7ee And then, and then, there is that thought of after surviving that short thirty minutes of questioning ***I'd hear my lead's voice.*** Of course she will check on me**.** Hahah that is one button-pusher, switch-flippin' thing there, really. On my good days, I'm fine with that since I have to accept that I will be hearing her voice every single day, right? But some days when I have my plate full and I am chugging a glass (half-full or half empty) of resolving issues with my assignment, hearing the lead's voice shortens the fuse box of calm. My teammate called out my attention one time after our meeting saying my voice was not calm and the irritation was felt. Woops, my bad. Don't get me wrong though. I get along well with my lead some times. I am yet to reign in that one. I have a friend, well one too many, who laughingly told me, I am one very transparent person when irritated. When you think about it, these are *normal things, normal happenings* in a corporate world which I have survived time and time again. My introvert self and that large part of me that does not like getting disturbed or derailed has survived years with none other than God's grace! haha. And that is what's going to happen later.. I will get through fine! That out.. I'm liking this Wednesday now. Soldier on, warriors! © Pichi28 | #ClubBrokeBCH All Original Content Unless specified otherwise...

Honest Stupidity; Stupid Honesty One fifty. Lunch money. One fifty. One fifty pesos was the damage Jeremy had to pay for simply being honest. "Being honest" if you want it to not hurt him for what he really, really did - being stupid. But "being stupid" is also just part of the total equation. He was being ***stupidly*** ***honest.*** *Jeremy parks his car. He turned off the engine but he did not get out immediately. He was running in his head what transpired in the past thirty minutes. After running it for three times in his head, he decided to get out of the car and log in his time in. His waking up early will be useless if he does not clock in early.* ***So what did happen?*** *It is Monday. On Mondays, Jeremy makes it a point to wake up extra early. Not because he is a model employee who does not get the Monday blues but because Monday, is his coding day. That means his car should not be spotted in the areas he will be driving to work after seven in the morning. They were given an exemption sticker by their company but it is only good for just that city where their work building is situated. He still needs to pass through another strict city so he needs to be up early and away from the strict areas. Once he is in the city where he works, he can take his time. The sticker is not required to be stuck on the windshield. They can just flash it to the enforcer in case the enforcer was feeling a bit hyped to flag them down.* Heeeyaaa!!! Do visit my awesome sponsors below and read their stories! *He adjusted his routine already for this one. Though he has been doing it for a long time, not a morning person as he is, he still finds himself yawning and a little floating too often. What he does is he takes breakfast in a certain restaurant in one of the commercial centers nearby which serves good morning coffee along with a tasty breakfast.* *Today, he decided to take his time eating the breakfast and sipping the cup of joe. He had written a lot of verses also for a poem that was stuck in his head. He has written a reflection essay just for the sake of waking his senses up. Ready to go, he drove. By this time, he was sure going to use the sticker because it is already the prohibited time. Not too far from where he ate is a traffic light. Few meters away from that is the same spot where enforcers like to hang out, or was the term "hide out" more fitting?* *He was not driving too fast, he was steady and the road is pretty much car less at the time, too. The light turned to yellow and then to red but he knows he will not be able to stop the car in time. So the semi-violation happened.* *The enforcer flagged him down and he pulled over. His mind was racing for some excuse or some words to get him off the hook.* *He rolls down the window. And just as soon as the officer came to his side, he started apologizing for beating the red light saying he would end up stopping in the middle of the intersection even if he pressed hard. He was talking a lot.* *The enforcer looked confused. He asked where Jeremy is working. Jeremy relays it. The enforcer pauses. He asks Jeremy if he has the sticker exemption. And Jeremy said yes. Then he starts apologizing again. And then it dawned on him. And he slowly stopped apologizing when he realized he was not being pulled over for beating the red light but because it is his coding day. He blinked once. Twice.* *He also realized there is no way the enforcer had a visual on the changing light.* *He stared blankly at the enforcer. Who was now telling him, "You are supposed to be exempted from the violation of coding but because you said you did beat the red light, I do have to write you a ticket. You'd need to settle this in the main office... "* *Stunned, Jeremy took the ticket from the enforcer and stared at the paper.* *He drove off the area still denying that it really happened. Still stunned. He turns on the radio to cool him down. Well, John Mayer was singing. Hah! What are the chances that the universe will put a soundtrack on your twenty-minute show however unrelated to the main story of the song?* https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0YownpGeQ1M Ever got a body part you'd like to remove given the chance? That was one of the questions from @Eylz2021 's article. https://read.cash/@Eylz2021/sunday-questions-f2806a73 I guess for Jeremy we know his answer. Ever got yourself in trouble or in deeper trouble because of you and your big mouth? © Pichi28 | `#ClubBrokeBCH` All Original Content Unless specified otherwise... *Let's go get that #BetterSeptember!*

What Did I Just Watch? *Now showing.* *Next attraction.* *Coming soon.* I am imagining myself walking to the ticket booth to watch a movie. Boy! I missed going inside that dark, huge TV room. This is the least I can do for now. *Some years back....* Melted butter smell fills the air as I near the snack bar. I went past it. I need the ticket first for the 8pm show. I made a mental note of what flavor I will get : white cheddar cheese, extra butter and extra white cheddar cheese powder pour over halfway. My mouth waters with just the thought of it. Oh and extra napkins because those powder stick like crazy to the fingers. Iced tea or water? I will come to that decision when I reach the snack counter. "The 8pm show, please. Eye-level for one." I relay to the man in the ticketing booth. I looked over the monitor as he gives me the choices available for seats. I pointed the one I wanted - a seat away at least from possible movie watchers who are on a date. The ticket pops out of the printer, the man in the booth tears it off and hands it over to me. Let us give him a line. "Enjoy the movie, ma'am". Oh, but I really am not sure if they say it. I read the seat number I am assigned in, memorized it or attempted to memorize it and slips the ticket in the back pocket of my jeans as I walked away from the booth and made my way back to the snack bar. I have ample time to still buy snacks unhurriedly. I settled for iced tea. Large. But promised myself to just take sips as I would not want to be going to the comfort room often. I walked in to the Cinema 7 when they said it is ok to finally go in. I wanted to settle down quickly, get comfortable and start popping the popcorn in my mouth. Trailers came on, made a mental note which ones to look forward to and then the main movie starts. *Stay safe*. That was what they all say to each other in the first part of the movie. Everyone is apparently going home. Twenty minutes into the movie, I am hooked. Wide-eyed. Enjoying and squirming in my chair at the same time. Entertained, amused. An hour and twenty five minutes later, I stared at the screen. Getting off the seat needed a little effort. It was just a movie. I got up. Walked slowly out. What in the world did I watch? The Purge. Have you watched one movie and you walked out of the movie house with all your inner being feeling like screaming? It was not a horror movie. I would have laughed some few times if it was. But the thing is... Something in me says that what happened in the movie can happen in real life eventually. Lols. That once a year holiday the new government allows killing for 12 hours. **Ever watched anything that shocked you before and you found yourself walking out heavy?** Putting in a buzzer beater for Sun-yay! ©️ Pichi28 All Original Content Unless specified otherwise

Was it A Trick or a Treat? Let us continue with that tiring but with awesome scenery of a trek in Luang Prabang. https://read.cash/@Pichi28/enchanting-trek-in-luang-prabang-ea2ffcd4 Have you ever felt tricked as a non-local? We did. .. and did not. Haha. But it was worth it anyway. Crazy as it sounds I think it was also just due to our heightened excitement and LOR - Lack of Research . Or maybe it was our impatience and excitement in wanting to go to that place we were wanting to go to. Full and rested, we continued walking on the long road ahead. On this part of the trek, the road becomes slightly inclined. Just slightly. But still even though it is sunny and the walk was long, we did not sweat at all. It was cold. I was elated when we finally got through some gate and then a sign was there. But our journey does not end there. From here on, we had to go "down" to the viewing point. It is a little trickier than on the way up. Just a little. And yes the grumpy me started to show again. Step over some rock. Hold on to something so as not to slip. Go one leg over the other to get over a log on the way. You best be visiting my awesome sponsors!! They have awesome stories to tell! But then the way down is not all that bad either. We were following a path well stomped on by other visitors already. It goes through a beautiful natural setup. And has changing sceneries that it is hard to stay grumpy at all. There was a fun wooden bridge we have to cross. Seeing one foreigner using the roots for a swing. I cannot imagine how he got there. He looks dry. Then going a little closer to the part where the water drops except that we cannot go closer. It has a barrier for safety of course. By now, we can hear the crashing of the water from a high point. We were getting excited except I'm a notch lower than their excitement I think. I was still consoling my self from the trek. No worries we were laughing a bit about it then as well. Taking in the Treat After a while, we find ourselves in the main viewing deck and the view was super stunning. The part where you suddenly do not know how to capture the scene so you have landscape, portrait, zoomed in, and all other probable shots one can make. Thank God we are no longer using film. We lingered longer on the bridge as we take tons of shots taking turns with the other tourists. This falls though does not stop there. From here and behind us, the water cascades down some more little basins and pools of clear jade water. This is similar to what we have in Abra - Kaparkan Falls. https://read.cash/@Pichi28/abramazing-adventure-kaparkan-falls-97cd692a The tour includes a chance to swim in the water. There is a designated area for that where current is probably less and the pool not too deep. Feeling the Trick What was surprising was when we were on the bridge, and we were enjoying the view and whooping at how that trek resulted to this view, we saw one tourist who was, get this, *in a wheelchair.* And we were like, *how in the world did he get through the trek?* And this is where the guide goes, "Oh, you can take a van, a bus, a toktok , going here." And we were like, "What?". We went down to follow the concrete steps and road to the place where it is safe to swim. Walking down where there is a small table we can stash our stuff, they prepared to swim in the cold water. We also made sure we were near the changing area. The water is cold, getting out of it, you will also feel cold. And true enough there was a concrete, established parking lot where tourists and visitors can just park there, get off and walk a few steps and voila, the view! Then we figured, what we booked from was an "adventure" promoting tourist office. It was the one near the place we stayed in and when we were discussing the options going to Kuang Si Falls, of course they only opened the options where their service is available. Hehe. Smart. It was a delightful trick or a delightful treat, I still can't decide but I can zero in on it being SIMPLY DELIGHTFUL. And somehow I did like how we went about it. Thank you so much for reading through! Hope you are having a delightful weekend - safe and sound at home. On the other hand, praying still for healing for people battling with sickness in this uncertain times. ***© Pichi28 | #ClubBrokeBCH*** All Original Content Unless specified otherwise...

October Episode 1 : Starting with Five F's *Good day Readitizens!* It is a sunny and warm, no, HOT Friday lunch time. How is everyone? And so it happened. The lazy bug, yes that was not a typo, the lazy bug bit me last night and I ended up with no month-ender article. But that's fine, right? I'll make that up in October. I am quite a bit off lately no spark of imagination. If there is, they are only suitable for short posts. How was September? Seems it is an unspoken thing every month end and month start. September was honestly overwhelming.*nodding my head here as I try to let that settle in for truth* . Both good and bad. We get by with a cup of coffee (who am I kidding? LOTS of coffee cups), a lot of prayers and a lot of looking up to Jesus. He did, after all, gave us a forewarning: *33 These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”* *John 16:33* , NKJV It was not long ago when I posted this in noise. **https://noise.cash/post/1wr9jzz2** Then after that a lot of news came in and it was hard to stay thinking straight most days. One time, I woke up and I heard my dad talking over the phone telling his friend, "Sometimes I do not even want to check on my messenger. News these days are always that of someone being taken home to heaven. If not for old age, other sickness, mostly COVID case." I thought I would be numb but every news still stings. The only comfort I have is that they are no longer suffering and to some who passed on, I know I will see them soon for when it is my turn to go home. You best be visiting these awesome souls! Their written thoughts are stunning! But the best thing about it is that I know ***God is still in control*** despite all the conundrum. I praise God for the healing He granted the household of my shoti - my younger brother. Also the household of other friends and colleagues, even our good neighbor in the other place that we used to live in. We still frequent in that area to get our stuff, mails and bills and they gave us heads up that we should not go there yet. I also recall how many times I've been spared for possible exposures during this month. So far that is what's up with 2 of my **Five F's** - ***Friends and Family***. Health-wise, hmm. I have been doing a lot of stretches - in my imagination. Hahah. I haven't jogged, biked, or moved a muscle other than, getting off the bed, doing minor chores, sitting down, getting up again, walking around the dining table which is not huge. I've managed to pump in some air on my bike some few weeks back but that 27 is not enough it needs 45. I ran out of battery. So you know how when momentum gets broken, nothing happens? This is that. I need to get it recharged. On the side of entertainment, the easy entertainment would be Netflix. I've lined up a lot of to be watched because it seems there is a lot of trending series these days. Squid Game being one of it. But even though I am a series fanatic, I've also lost that appetite to really catch up. I just want to be entertained. But even during watching, my mind flies off elsewhere. Haha. Games? I've gone back to playing ML, again. Just for breaking the loopy cycle lately. Also, after losing too many times in Splinterlands. As for pew pew pew, consider that gone for now and waiting for how the developers plan to recover. Haha. Music. I've only strummed my guit for only few times last month. Played the ivory one time when I was in my house but not too long also. Need to get these fingers working on some music too. That will help in getting my happy hormones up. Ah. As for **Finances**. Yikes. I don't do monthly wrap-ups but I do keep personal tracking for both noise and read. I, again, felt that sudden dip few weeks back. The old story of buying at a price you thought was low enough and then the market dipping lower after few hours happened. Ouch. So need to get that green up and up. Earnings went to bills and loan payments and other adulting stuff. Both platforms have been of very good help. The community is just awesome so let say Readitizens and Noise-itizens thank you from the bottom of my heart. Let's continue on making the most of both. More stories and noise-making! Sensible or not! Woohoo! I really have no concrete "read goal" for this month. Save for making sure I have a start of the month and and end of the month article, I plan to enjoy every moment of typing in my thoughts - fiction or not. Who knows if my head gets a little too chatty, I can write more. Not! or maybe.. Alrighty October! We are ready and set for you. Let's all strap up and enjoy the ride, yeah? ***The best is YET to come.*** P.S. Thankful for @FarmGirl for posting her Five F's article. That got me somewhere in the middle of my blabbering. https://read.cash/@FarmGirl/our-five-fs-8806e9f7 *Better get some thoughts off my head now and maybe be writing better later.. .argh!* © Pichi28 | `#ClubBrokeBCH` All Original Content Unless specified otherwise...

At Your Fingertips I am taking a break and making this quick. No wait.. not break actually. I am declaring my Tuesday work done and sealed. So I am not going back to the work laptop. I am taking my time writing this one. Hehe. Whatever this one is. Two more days and September is almost done! Wow! How have you been? Work just never seems to stop eh? Anyway, I do not have a picture of interest today to make up a story with like I did to poor, old, robot Fred. But for sure that will not be the last. https://read.cash/@Pichi28/random-street-story-d37bfb58 ... ᵦᵣₑₐₖ ... ᵦᵣₑₐₖ ... ᵦᵣₑₐₖ ... ᵦᵣₑₐₖ ... ᵦᵣₑₐₖ ... ᵦᵣₑₐₖ ... ᵦᵣₑₐₖ ... ᵦᵣₑₐₖ ... ᵦᵣₑₐₖ ... ᵦᵣₑₐₖ ... ᵦᵣₑₐₖ ... ᵦᵣₑₐₖ ... ᵦᵣₑₐₖ ... ᵦᵣₑₐₖ ... Technology changed our lives a lot, yeah? It made doing things faster. I like the way that it paved a way for us to get in touch with a lot of people real quick and at a cheaper cost at that, too. *What I partly do not like is that how it also makes you swing from one emotion to another real quick.* The roller coaster of emotions at your fingertips! *But admittedly it also amuses me.* One time I was talking with friends in Chat Group 1. Topic was love life. Imagine the high energy of talking about love stories or lack of it. The dreamy, excitement was there. Then Chat Group 2 pops up on the notification bar. *Ding!* Topic for this window: work rant. My emotion then shifts to adjust to the mood set in that chat group. We go agreeing with how oddly managed this and that is and so forth. Feeling everyone's feeling of frustration as well and responding to make them feel heard and that they are not the only ones feeling that way. *Ding!* Chat Group 3 joins in on the fun this time talking about politics. Included in the topic were who is unfriending who, who is cancelling who, who ratted out on who, etcetera. Heightened emotions of irritation, disappointment, etcetera was there. But it all turns to a lot of laughter after few exchanges because there would always be one who can quickly turn the heavy conversation to something you all can laugh about. *Ding!* I go back to the first group because a question was directed at me making me shift to what was the mood there, again? *Ding!* Another chat group notif pops up. Chat Group 4 from another set of work friends from old project with a bad news of a common friend getting sick. So different mood with this group as well. Ding! Another chat group - Chat Group 5. The group that always has something to share that everyone will laugh about. So for this one group you end up being teary-eyed for laughing so much at what is being talked about - whether politics-related, related to common friend's funny post, picking on someone in the group to bully or someone posting an old throwback picture that the back story of which was just shared right there. So teary-eyed with so much laughter, I go back and forth to the sad group, the angry group, the high in love and dreamy group. Then... After thirty minutes of shifting moods from shifting of different groups using one messaging app, suddenly everyone stops. No more pop ups. No more questions or jabs and teases directed at me. Nada. I put the phone down. And stared at it. That was some facial workout. I went from frowning, smiling, giggling, laughing, pouting and back again. I sighed and then laughed at that realization. What a maddening mood shifts! Thankfully, it does not happen too often. It is funny but also draining hahaha. Depleting. Good evening everyone! Ending it here. *What was your latest battle or friendly jabs with technology lately?* © Pichi28 | `#ClubBrokeBCH` All Original Content Unless specified otherwise... *Let's go get that #BetterSeptember!*

Random Street Story *It is a Sunday. Finally a rest from business deals and everything related to making money. Fred has been looking forward to this time of relaxation. He has been rushing his morning coffee lately. Even spilled some on his work clothes. He needed to quickly change and that caused him serious amount of time. He needed to be out the door and Celso, his trusted driver, should be there already as well. Celso cannot park too long in front of their doorstep as the drive way is a shared strip for tenants living in the same cramped compound. So it should be a quick pick and go. Else, Celso would need to go around the block again. And if that happens and Celso gets caught in the block by 7:15am, he would no be able to pick up Celso in time. They will be late. That happened Monday and yes, they got late.* *He cannot scream at Celso. It was not his fault that the coffee spilled on his work clothes. It is just that, well, crap happens. He decided to be careful next day and before putting on his work clothes, he decided to pour the coffee into his tumbler first. He was successful at that. They were away from the area and on the freeway in no time and he was able to attend one project's business deal. He was able to close the deal and they are taking the project for company A&H then. It was a two-year contract and something that the company needs. He was sure his boss will be delighted to know this and will give him a pat in the back finally. But that did not happen because he has other engagements lined up. His boss, Mr.Grump, was happy he got the deal for A&H but Grump, currently focusing more on closing deals than his subordinates' job-well-dones, placed three thick folders of business proposals on his desk.* *He got a visit from Mr. Grump that time. He was going to write an email when the door of his office opened and it was Mr. Grump.* *"Hey boss! " Fred starts. "We got A&H!" He was very happy but contained.* *Grump goes, "That's good. Do the same with these.. " *thump lands the folders on the desk.* *Grump turns for the door, opens it and added, "Oh I need the figures from A&H. Stat! Those three needs to be closed within the week. Let me know if you can't do it."* *Grump closes the door behind him.* *Fred stares at the pile of folders on his desk. And he started making actions of a magician wanting to make them disappear. That was Tuesday.* *With three more clients to pursue and to convince that they are the best company to trust, he faces the mirror, gives himself a positive praise to himself, walks out of his room, grabs his tumbler, grabs the sandwich manang Flor prepared for him and zoomed out of the house, to the car and to the office once again.* *He got the deals alright! Yey, Fred! But up until Friday night, he was finalizing the reports his boss will need to present to the board about the projects they closed for the week. He did feel good but he sure did feel like a robot, too. And by now he is convinced he is a magician.* Before the story continues, do let me present to you my fantabolous sponsors They have stories and poetries to share .. do check them out! *Upon finishing his report, he sat back on his swivel chair and looked up the ceiling making mental calculations of when he would finally retire and when he would want to just sit back and relax. Buy a yacht or something. Not that what he's gonna get from the company can buy him a yacht. But he is just playing with his thoughts.* *His phone buzzed and a message popped from his Golf Buddies group chat comprising of his colleagues from other department. Ah, golf! He was looking forward to it on Sunday. It is their usual weekend unwind thing. Nothing more relaxing than hitting that ball on the tee and chasing it down the green after everyone have shot theirs to fetch. Of course, that's not how golf works. Though it may be similar to such. But he learned to love it anyway. It is challenging and it is relaxing. The message was from Eric telling them the details of their reservations.* *Satisfied with his work done for the week, he got up, packed up his briefcase, shut down is machine and went home. That was Friday.* *He decided to sleep in through Saturday. Except for the trip down the dry cleaners, a few groceries, lined up for a haircut but then decided the line was too long so he decided to go home and relax with binge watching a TV series. That was Saturday.* *Next day, he was preparing for the golf day at 5:30am. He was up early, preparing, checking his set, checking his gloves, making sure his new golf shoes are clean and then there was a message in their group chat that the golf day will be cancelled because of a confusion with the reservation. They cannot get a slot because it turns out, the club is full for a tournament of some other big company. Bummer!* *Because he is already up, mood crushed he decided to take a walk to the nearby coffee shop to ease his mood. He changed clothes, picked up his comfort cowboy hat, picked a flipflop and started walking. In no more than twenty minutes, he has in his hands, his coffee and a newspaper he grabbed from the coffee shop's newspaper stand. He decided al fresco is good since the day is still not too hot. Besides, inside the coffee shop, it's freezing.* *He picked a spot. Placed his brewed coffee on the table, pulled the chair, shook his flipflops off, pulled the chair in front closer with his foot, propped both legs on the extra chair, opened the news paper and shook it to open without folding back and he starts to drown in on the stories of the entertainment section.* *This is Sunday. He should be out with his buddies celebrating small successes. Well he made magic so it was huge success for him. Yet here he is starting Sunday morning with a cancelled celebration over golf and with his picture being captured by a kid who was failing so much in taking it "discreetly".* Good evening readitizens! How is everyone doing? Meet Fred. Seriously, not his name but I wouldn't know. He happens to be in the picture of interest with my challenge of "pick a picture, tell a story" . Happy rest of Sunday dear friends!! © Pichi28 | #ClubBrokeBCH All Original Content Unless specified otherwise...

@Pichi28

What a Night *Bwhahah*. I actually do not know what to write. My mind has been darting from one start to another. Matter of fact, this is the third window of "Write an article" that I clicked. The other two had already started their story flow and then I got distracted by, get this : a mosquito A bat (or bats I think there were lots of them) A howling dog somewhere A singing neighbor Distant sirens My sudden feat of sneezing Le moustique (The Mosquito) I sat myself down on the dining chair to relax and take a sip of the reheated joe. I was beginning to type in a story, a fiction, when suddenly an annoying mosquito decided a few inches from my temple is a good place to hover and hang out. Since it is hovering and maybe having a little control trouble, it starts flying from my right peripheral vision, crossing my line of vision and to the left side. Annoyed, I decided to prepare to fry it with the mosquito racquet. I took the racquet from my room since I fried one few hours back. When I got back to my chair, of course, it is gone. I had my trail of thoughts already diverted from the fiction I was creating to the annoyance that these creatures seem to have sharpened their instincts over time. Do hurry and check out these wonderful people. They have inspiring writeups you need to read!! NEED! The Bat Then there's the bat. Or bats maybe. I am seated near a window. The window through which a small patch of jungle can be seen through. I call it a patch of jungle. For some reason, a bat keeps flying by the window. You know those sound testing clips you listen to to test your earphones' or headset and you hear the sound go around your head? Arrgh! I cannot find a fitting clip. Anyway, the bat. It flies and then it chirps. Do bats chirp? Is that how you call the sound they make? One would mistake them for birds except that they do not have the soothing sing song chirp of the birds. The Howl and the Singing Neighbor If that was not enough of a distraction, a dog started to howl. I thought it was Chewey and I strained my ears it is too huge a howl for the small pup. I thought it was Night, our blind dog so I stepped outside the balcony to listen if it is coming from us but when I walked out, the sound came farther down the street. The bat that was flying and some of its friends are still chirping and flying when I was spotting where the howl was coming from. My imagination was already taking me to the twilight zone -the eerie kind. Bats busy in the quiet night, the gentle rustle of the leaves in the dark, a howl of some wolf, I mean a dog from a far. Then the neighbor started singing. Poof to reality. It was not loud and rather not too clear but someone was singing something alright. Her singing blending in with the howl of the night I almost laughed. The Distant Sirens Then there were distant sounds of sirens. It wasn't police. It was ambulance and fire truck I think. I hated those sounds even more so when the pandemic started. Always makes me feel like someone is in super duper danger. Sirens make me feel uneasy and yes it has that chest-tightening effect. Grr. To save myself from thinking down that line and continuing my fictional eerie story of the upgraded mosquito, the bat and the dog howl, I decided to go back inside . Bad idea. Sneeze Fest It was nice and cool outside. It was significantly warmer inside the house even though you feel the breeze come through all our open windows. It did not take long for that shift to trigger my sneezes. Each sneeze sending all my words... Achooo! Out and .. achoo! Off my head... Achoo! Now they're gone! Sniff sniff! Achoo! Just for the sake of balancing the weirdness of starting a story with "Bwahaha" Let me end this one with the same.. I am laughing at how I cannot contain my thoughts and properly put it down for a good Friday night story. *Bwahahahah*. *Good evening read-itizens! Mad Friday night it was but I ain't complaining. It is, after all, the weekend. Enchanting Trek in Luang Prabang Gosh. It's not yet Friday! And here I thought I was keeping track of the days right. Had I known somewhere down the line in this wonderful story called life God would have weaved my path with platforms read and noise, I would have jotted down every single details of our travels. When you think about it, my friends were encouraging me to do just that and have it written down so we can all go back to it but I always forget. What happens is that during travels I am mighty confident that my memory will retain every detail I should have and that I only need pictures. Sometimes I keep our booking stubs and tickets and then eventually I end up throwing them away. But whatever, right? Good thing I do take some pictures enough to rack my head with traces of memory I can start from. Not enough for a travel guide but enough for a story, I guess. One time we, my "let us make it happen" travel buddies and I, were hanging out and asked each other the question, "Where else would you want to go?". That is how we usually start. I cannot remember who came up with an Indochina trip but there we decided on doing it. Indochina covers Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam. Thank you Google and social media groups, getting itineraries and modifying them according to our taste and budget was easy. The best part of our trip was that visit in Laos, surprisingly. I only knew of Laos from my officemates from previous work who were assigned the Thailand project. No one ever told me a story of going there for leisure and I don't know any place in Laos at all for leisure traveling until we started drafting our itinerary. You know how when you scroll through Instagram and you take note and screen capture the places you would like to go to someday? One of the places that I captured happen to be in Laos. We stayed in Luang Prabang-not exactly an easy-on-the-tongue name for a place. On finding out that it is a UNESCO World Heritage listed place, we got even excited. The place is small but beautiful and if I can find the pictures (hahaha) it will be in on another story. Luang Prabang is our jump off point to a very enchanting place. Little did we know the path going there has its own enchantment reserved for our curious, traveling selves. From Luang Prabang, we booked a tour going to Kuang Si Falls. Yes, that was our target. We booked from an outdoor adventure tour office I guess that's why there was trekking involved. The van picked us up from the main city, drove us to the jump off point where we had a short tour around the villages that was there. You may be wondering why we're wearing jackets. Well it was December then and it was a cold place. At that time that we started walking it was 12 degrees celsius and probably less. The trek took us 3. 5 hours. But it was an easy trek so it's all flat walk. The rest stop for lunch was enchanting. Good thing going to the falls, we did not have to cross through the rivers using the logs or the fallen trees. We just passed by them. We tried during the break time, though. For the local who prepared our lunch, it was easy. He is from there and maybe he had a lot of practice. He was even showing off some skills balancing a bottle on his head while he cross back and forth. From here on, we still have 30 to 45 minutes of trek to the falls. I was already getting grumpy after some time so yes it was a long trek. Lols. It was all worth it when we got there anyway. I am very much blessed with two friends who can let my mood just take its course hahahaha. *...to be continued...* Mighty thankful for finding company of good friends I can entrust myself with for travels. Our history started with a blessing.. And we've been going to places since then. https://read.cash/@Pichi28/re-counting-angels-d0e4130b This verse has been always a reminder for me whenever I want to go places. *If the Lord wills it..* `' Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that.” ' James 4:15` © Pichi28 | `#ClubBrokeBCH` All Original Content Unless specified otherwise... *Let's go get that #BetterSeptember!* `Prayer is a powerful thing. Hammocks and Crashing Waves I checked on the other soc med a while ago and it gave me a lot of memories from some years back. The Memories feature of Facebook always makes me: **LAUGH** at the funny back stories of each pictures I posted, **SCRATCH MY HEAD** with a status post I posted and wonder what must be going through my head then, **BE A LITTLE TEARY-EYED** reminiscing fun moments I probably will no longer be able to repeat because of some circumstances **RE-FEEL THE EXCITEMENT** that came along with the picture or status post . Just a few days back, I laughed at a memory showing I took a picture of a lizard a year ago because just the night before, I also took a picture of a lizard. And just today, there's a long list of "On this day.." So I figured September must be one hell of a busy month for me some years back. I do remember had things not been changed, this is the month also of our company sports fest or preparation for it (September crossing October-ish). Hmm. See these people below? THey are fabolous souls with awesome stories .. .go check them! That said, I searched my hard drive for pictures taken some years back that falls on a September and there were a lot. I zeroed in on this one image here of hammocks and the trailing memories that go with it. I like hammocks. Also, whenever I see one, I feel the rush and the thrill of getting on it successfully. Because, yes, I do struggle to get on one every single time. Hah! It is probably just me and my history with hammocks. When I was young, there were a lot of times I'd find myself on the ground before really being able to get on one. But that does not stop me from racing anyone to get on one. Lounging on hammocks relaxes me. Specially if my view is the beach or the ocean. The view looks so calm, eh? The previous day though, when we arrived in this place it was drab. The sky was gray and the waves were nasty. I guess I have travel days like that when the waves are challenging our group if we will push through with our intention or not. But no waves are going to stop us. No, sir! This was the first day here below. Those were other vacationers. This was taken when we were already safe inside the resort and well I cannot say dry. Haha. See that gap between the boat and the people? There's a portion of the concrete walkway there that's already submerged. With the help of a rope rail, we got off the boat, walked through the water and quickly towards the entrance of the resort. It was fun! It was the same walkway we'd take later that day for snorkeling. Later that day, too my brave buddies did try to free dive. I can't remember if diver friends did dive, too. All I know is my business there is - to snorkel, to eat and drink lots of coffee. We settled in our room, put on our rash guards, took hold of our fins and masks and well, braved the same path to see the fishes. It was a fun experience trying not to get pushed by the strong waves to the water. The water, which, we will be getting into anyway. I guess we want to get in the water not the wiped-out way. Social distancing was an alien word then. It was relaxing. After-dinner, long-table story-telling ended up with a jam session with another group because my friend started playing Eraserheads on her uke. Someone brought in a cajon and it was a night of sing along. Until one by one resigns to go back to the room and sleep finally. Buffet breakfast, endless coffee and one more round of dipping in the water before finally getting dressed and going back to the city. A mask was also raffled that time. I did not win, though. And a shirt that says *thalassophile* which I did not win either. Bummer! We go back the same way so no matter if you put on your dry clothes, you will get wet anyway. Hehe. Fun over the weekend getaways. A trip down memory lane which is all we can do for now. Thank God for pictures we can use to re-tell stories of adventure and fun. Hope you are well and fine this Wednesday! © Pichi28 | `#ClubBrokeBCH` All Original Content Unless specified otherwise... *Let's go get that #BetterSeptember!*

Calm Ordinary Tuesday Hullo there Read-itizens! Tuesday is ending (*or has ended*). It was a calm, ordinary Tuesday. "Calm, ordinary" is what one would use when chaos is at its expected form. Somehow the regular chaos has become normalized to a point that anything less than the "Calm, ordinary" will make one feel weirded out. Rush, rush it seems is what this world wants. I intentionally pulled myself away from the work table yet again. We need to be able to stop that rush rush from eating us. I sip from my last cup of black coffee for the day. I felt its warm crawl from my throat down to my chest. That relaxing feeling. From my short break this afternoon, I realized afternoons are becoming cooler and cooler- reminder that it is, after all, the "brrr" months already. The moon shone last night. And lazy as I may have become over the past few months, I pushed myself to go out on the balcony and look up. Thankfully the moon is there. Normally, I'd aim to take a picture of the moon and add it to my collection. But for some months, I have been allowing laziness and excuses to take over. It is relaxing. Just looking up the Big White Dot. https://read.cash/@Pichi28/the-other-glow-e863737a I am loving the gentle and steady breeze. It is steady and seemingly following a tempo. I hear the rustle of the leaves of nearby mango tree. I watched as my mom's plants wave their small, tiny stems excitedly. Like when someone sees an old friend in the crowd. Excitedly. Haha. I looked up again just in time for a bat to fly under the glow of the moon and a short sound clip from Batman Returns played in my head and then it's gone. I am happy there were no bugs! I hated hanging out at the balcony because there are lots of bugs there usually. Ah! The beautiful night sky may not be dotted with stars tonight but it is still beautiful. Just as in daytime when clouds get formed and reformed, I watch the night clouds cover the moon and then leave it open again. There is a glow from the neighbor's window that fits for a perfect picture of the night sky but then, there is also this fiesta of cables covering that view. I need a better vantage point. Higher maybe. Good luck with that. For now, this spot is a perfect spot for a little breather. The breeze, the moon, the clouds, the trees the small plants and the flying, pooping bats they did paint a smile on my face. Just the calm I need. Breathe in and breathing out thanksgiving for the healing of friends and family who are currently battling their course with the virus and coming out champs. Maybe soon all this scene will include the rolling blues and the crashing whites. https://read.cash/@Pichi28/the-other-glow-e863737a Hopefully. Oh gosh! I crossed Wednesday. Leaving the ramblings for now. Goodnight everyone! © Pichi28 | `#ClubBrokeBCH` All Original Content Unless specified otherwise... *Let's go get that #BetterSeptember!*

Paper Boat Days I am now going to proceed with what I really intended to write before I got distracted by Lucifer the series. So, let us see. Following suit with @Eylz2021 's "Back in the day We...", this is my story ... I belong to the generation who plays outside because we do not have any of the electronic gadgets kids these days are enjoying. Scraped knees, and elbows baby! That's how we enjoyed our childhood days. ***Back in my day, we*** play street games like patintero. I relied on older playmates to teach me the game. I can try to write down the mechanics of the game but I guess it is better with this video below: https://youtu.be/QPsw2D6BgnM I remember one of my teammates deciding to give me a push, literally, so I can cross. I was tiny. Seriously. The idea was once she pushes me, I start running fast. It worked. But getting back is a different story. My playmates have longer arms and wider steps. I just got luçky the first try. But that got me encouraged to start really joining. That one time of being able to go one way was to key to may other wins. Eylz mentioned piko and I was actually surprised she uses banana peel. we were only allowed to use our slippers or other stones. we sometimes end up looking for already broken pots of our neighbors and breaking them some more so we can get the least likely to bounce. ***Back in my day, we*** were not allowed to go out of the house and play until after we sleep in the afternoon. So before there was Prison Break, there was me and my brother doing our own version. Not together of course. The other sibling will always be a liability for perfect plans. On the other hand, the other sibling is also potentially the whistle blower if pissed. It's a fun childhood. Hahah. I remember I was successful. Once! I snuck out completely without making a sound. Then made a run for the house of my friend who lives the farthest. We were going playing pot-making with the mud in their backyard but after some few minutes, I saw "ate" from our house telling me my mom's looking for me. Foiled! So I went home and the belt sessions happened. Haha. Also, one time, I and my brother did not want to sleep. But we are not allowed to get out. We attempted but we both ended up seated on chairs tied back to back and placed in front of our wall clock waiting for 3 pm. I and my brother were both screaming, crying and laughing at the same time. Come to think of it, it was our youngest brother who was able to "break" that back in the day. He found out calling my dad in his office and telling him, "Tatay I don't want to sleep." Gets answered with "Then don't sleep". He gets free pass and a deadly, surprised stares from me and my kuya. ***Back in my day, we*** go out of the house and chase dragonflies. Oh, yeah! I remember that vividly because I remember getting scared at the same time excited and wanting to grab that dragon fly - big or small. We have a huge playing field back when I was a kid - grassy, hilly. I would watch and imitate the older playmates how they do it. And then try for myself. ***Back in my day, we*** play in the rain and run through the flood. I have witnessed how the flood our street was clear when I was younger and it got darker and dirtier when we grew older. This is also the time we make paper boats, place it on the flood water and watch it go bye bye. ***Back in my day, we*** not only play with paper boats. Do kids these days still do paper airplanes, ninja stars, t-shirts, paper frog race, etcetera? Kites? Do kids still get to fly kites these days? I think some still do. I only see some in Luneta Park though. Our tossed up spaghetti wires don't make our "skies" kite-flyaable. ***Back in my day, we*** cannot just call up a relative living in Manila or other province. It has to go through an operator. Gosh I can barely remember how that goes! Now, you can simply leave them a message in the messenger and the reach is not only nationwide it is worldwide! Well there you go... my entry for back in my day. © Pichi28 | `#ClubBrokeBCH` All Original Content Unless specified otherwise... *Let's go get that #BetterSeptember!*

I got loco for: These TV Series I skipped one day (September 17) of writing just because. And then skipped again just because (September 18) again. Well, the first skip - September 17 - was because I got tired. Lied down on my bed and poof knocked out. I did not do anything physical at all that day, though. But it was that Friday that got me spent on talking, thinking and listening to geeky stuff at work that my brain cells were already raising white flag to just seeing the meeting invite. So I decided to give the brain cells some rest. Next day. September 18, I was going to write around after Eylz's *Back in the day we* got published. I was going to follow suit but I started writing while I was still engrossed with what I was watching in Netflix. So I tapped a few lines and then my attention drifted off back to the series. https://read.cash/@Eylz2021/back-in-my-day-we-d94062e3 I bargained for "one more episode". You know? The same begging off when your alarm goes off right on the time you wanted it to wake you up but you beg for "five more minutes". We all know how that ends up, right? So that is this now. So what got my attention hooked? Let us put that on top of the list then, huh? This is not arranged according to how much I loved or liked the TV Series. Doing that will take me a long time comparing which one made me laugh most, smile the widest, daydream after or cry the most. But for sure the top will always be F.R.I.E.N.D.S. No series has yet bumped it from the top spot. So I am just listing them down :D I am only picking some. When I started listing them down and writing about one, I started remembering other series and I think I will end up typing a lot and longer than I intended to write. Also, not entirely a review. **Lucifer** I hesitated watching this one at first. It felt initially offensive. But brushing off my snowflake tendency, decided to try and it did not disappoint. Well until the fifth season, that is when it started becoming a musical. That got me weirded out. That is a bit off-theme. I get it that they were portraying the "god's presence' in the series as something too enjoyable you won't be able to keep yourself from singing and dancing, it was just there is a little snag in blending it in. The actor who plays Lucifer, Tom Ellis, was good in keeping his character's posture consistent. He did show a trunk full of musical talent there, too - playing his grand piano and singing. It is a fun watch seeing how the characters interact, blend and at some point get along and get their differences sorted out and build cool friendships. It got me thinking about the state of humanity because the writers did not hesitate in spilling out some of their cries about issues of God and man projecting it through the characters. It does show a slice of the fallen world. I would understand if most conservatives will find it truly offensive, because it is not "edifying" at all to a standard. But really, it is a secular film. What do you expect, right? It's not Facing the Giants, Prayer Room or Fireproof level. Did it make me laugh and cry and smile? Oh yes! F.R.I.E.N.D.S This one, I can go for reruns over and over. I may be not as much as a fan as @crazybeautifulfurmom is , but when she does cite an episode, I do get the flashbacks of the scenes. Haha. It is hard to to pick the favorite character because everyone has their own way of things that blend and complement with others. Picking just one character will make make me feel incomplete. Like, for example, if I pick just Phoebe, then I'd miss Joey's, Chandler's, Monica's, Ross', Rachel's persona. This is that one series that I had to always ask my friend to give me a copy of so I can watch it non-stop. No dull series or episode for this one. Very, very good mix of characters. They got me laughing the hardest in every episode. I enjoyed their "company" so much I found myself crying in their finale feeling like real friends are moving out and away. The Blacklist and How to Get Away With Murder Ah these two! From the first episode up to the last that I remember. I started with The Blacklist first. Loved the wit and the story of this one. I remember my brother calling me one time when he started with the series telling me, "Now I do not know who to believe." It has tons of trickery, twists and deceptions that will keep you hooked. While waiting for the next episodes/series of The Blacklist, I had a parallel start with How to Get Away With Murder and this one, too had lots of twists. I got tired of it after three seasons I think. When the story got too twisted and it felt like the plots are getting forced to be interested so they have to twist it some more. It became tiring. Smallville Watched this during college. That time I had insane long breaks that I can insanely still go home to watch a few episodes and then go back to school for next class. I am not entirely a Superman fan but I did get hooked with Lois and Clark back in the day so I kind of wanted to know what's Clark's background. My uncle and my brother said though it is a little revised. But how would I know. Hahha I just enjoy the stories per episode. Loved their dialogues on friendship and love and this is that series with cool soundtrack. These are just some. I know there are other series that I got loco over - there's Grey's Anatomy, Suits, How I Met Your Mother, Big Bang Theory, CSI Vegas, CSI New York and other CSIs, etcetera. But I know F.R.I.E.N.D.S will always be the top. How about you? Right off the top of your head, what were the series that you liked or superliked? What series got your eyes wet both for laughing so hard and secretly crying, too? © Pichi28 | `#ClubBrokeBCH` All Original Content Unless specified otherwise... *Let's go get that #BetterSeptember!*

@Pichi28

Now Nothing is in my Head Funny how sometimes we got lots of things to think of and yet come up with Nothing. Nothing when you want to try to put it down. Nothing must be really something because admittedly, it bothers me. *Nothing bothers me.* And that statement confused and confuses me for a bit. If nothing is bothering me then I should be able to smoothly say something, right? But see? Nothing! I am now spiraling on a word play where the audience is me, the victim is me and the author is me. And in that one-actor role-playing in my head, I still come up with nothing. Let us try to dig into nothing shall we? Let us process this nothing. Get off that chair. These days, before I write, I stay away from my laptop and my work chair. I figured facing the lappy and sitting on the same chair I was sitting the whole day is a total culprit in making me not think straight. Not that I do think straight at all times. Subliminally, I think, the spot is giving me pressure and then panic. Since it is the same spot I sit for work. Work has a lot of varying levels of fun panic, fun pressure that can easily swing to the opposite of fun depending on who I start talking to or on who bursts my bubble of fun. And then swing again to the opposite of not fun. Like a pendulum swinging and not stopping but also picking up momentum even. Well if it seems like something that is part of everyday, it should be manageable. *Nothing should be allowed to routinely take control of our moods*. So breaking away from the small environment where mood busters are of high concentration should be good. Staying away from my work area helps a lot. Away from the lappy and the table I turn to the phone instead. Which is fine and relaxing it turns out. At least I am not stuck in one spot. I can move around. And typing feels like I am sending a long message to a friend. Haha. Start staring off into nothing. Staring off into nothing or space takes me to a relaxing journey of multiple stories. I don't know why but it is relaxing. You stare off straight and you allow your brain to work its magic starting from the first thing you see right in front of you. The product of that one was this article. https://read.cash/@Pichi28/once-upon-a-time-6cd83110 Yes, I stared at our old clock that time. And the rest is history. **Let it spill.** Type whatever. Punch those keys and see where it takes you. Have you seen the movie Finding Forrester? https://youtu.be/Nb8v0cIbDCI One of the movies I can watch over and over again. This part I like. Though writing is not the central story of the film, it paved a way to a cool friendship and mentorship. I know it is tough and weird to just be typing away. But who knows where it will get you? https://read.cash/@Pichi28/the-other-glow-da350c93 There is also another fun old movie. Something like *Amazing Stories.* This time a plant starts to write for a mental-blocked writer. That was a playful story. Take a rest. If nothing is really there, then a skip day is fine. Just says me. Nope. Not a financial advise. Not an everyday wisdom even or either. Do your thing. This is nothing. ...and oh .. Drink Coffee.. Go get that cuppa that relaxes you. Have fun! Above all.... Have fun. ...zoning out now... © Pichi28 | `#ClubBrokeBCH` All Original Content Unless specified otherwise... *Let's go get that #BetterSeptember!*

And now both noise and read is fiiiine .. how are you guys?

@Pichi28

I Got Two Stuck in my Head Alright let us go ahead then. I am pushing back writing until a little later or tomorrow. I was going to catch up with a lot of great stories. My opened chrome tabs are a lot. I have spent some serious time clicking the "Next Page" in notifications and right-clicking and opening items in new tabs. It was fun reading and funnier that I find myself commenting to posts a week back. I have been holding back on writing these two things. Wait. What am I talking about first, right? I have two dreams that I remember vividly. Save for dreams like the 3 BTCs, it seldom happens that up until today, counting from three days back, I can still recall bits and pieces of it. Not only that. I also can still feel the emotions I felt during the dream and after waking up from the dream. Largely : weirded-out among other things that I felt. https://noise.cash/post/l5v66v25 Why Am I holding back from sharing it... For no reason, really swear. But for the sake of writing down probable reasons, wait. Let me rack my brain a bit. Shake it. And see these: 1.) I am thinking of putting it in the dream channel. Go check it out and do share your dreams, too! *(Edit: this channel was mentioned in* @Just1dood *article**. The channel is not mine. I repeat... not mine :D )* https://read.cash/@Just1dood/channel-your-dream-440d2c6a https://noise.cash/c/share-your-dreams-7kl5vzn1 I kind of liked the enthusiastic way I do like a headliner on my posts there like this below. Tada! 2.) Another reason is part of me is too weirded out with the dream to the point that I want to : a.) Shake it off and forget about it and it should mean nothing b.) Figure it out myself if it has meaning or not. See the battle there? There is that self convincing myself there is no meaning to it and the other self is curious if it has meaning at all. The play on my subconscious is that weird. And because I am weirded out, I cannot seem to feel like saying, *"Channel full of dreams! yay!" .* Whoah! When I think about it, I think I am leaning more on reason number two. So what prompted me now to start typing about it? No reason again, really. Joke! Well it was because a few minutes back before deciding to finally give that "Write > Full Article" a go, I was reading one article but my mind keeps going back to the dreams instead. No, the two things are not in any way related to the post I was reading. It was just that time that when I read one paragraph I realized I understood nothing because my brain was replaying the dream. So to give my crazy, re-calling brain a rest I am giving in to putting it down in words. Finally. Hoping it seals the mouth of the tiny brain cells that keep on re-telling the stories like some bonfire tale. After that, I can go back in finding my peace in reading the article I wanted to read. Again, hopefully. Dream 1: Seat Eject The shadow of the rotating blades of the chopper can be seen on the surface of the mountain below. They (or was it "we"?) were not too high. It was a smooth-soaring flight. The pilot, co-pilot and two passengers at the back seat were relaxed. But at some point during the dream, there was a calm, yes calm, announcement that the chopper needs to be abandoned. I know I haven't watched war movies in a long time so I am not sure where the chopper idea came from. It was not even crashing. There is just a need to abandon ship or, in this case, abandon chopper. First off, the co-pilot ejects. Am I in the chopper? On the first part, it seems so. But then on this part it seems that I am hovering around the scene. Thousands of feet high, but the frame of my vision is simply on the chopper. And then the pilot, finishing a conversation on the radio, turns around to assist the passenger seated right behind him. When he turned around, the one he was assisting was a kid! Barely ten years old. Probably younger. The pilot seemed surprised himself. He hesitated. I felt shocked. *This is the point where I woke up. And I thought that was one cruel dream still in shock.* Dream 2 : Spilled Cappuccino It was a bright sunny day but I was rushing out of the house. Because a friend, who was a grab driver in my dream, which I incidentally booked was already out waiting for me at our gate. I have a paper cup of cappuccino with me. I was going out the door when someone called my attention that I am wearing my shirt inside out. I glanced down and saw the neck label flapping just below my chin. I find that detail amusing. Like when I recall the dream, I can still see that label flapping. And oh I was wearing all white - shirt and shorts and sneakers. So chill and so relaxed but rushing out. This dream character has a face. I saw this friend's face and I know it is probably because I had a conversation with him few days back asking how his quarantine was and how he got infected and such. When I got into the car of my friend, I shut the door and then I spilled my coffee. Like I dropped the cup or something. I just saw the contents spill and the cup roll under the seat in front of me. Nothing spilled on my all white though. And then we started talking while we went off somewhere where I cannot remember but our conversation was more like I am asking him for some sort of a gig or side hustle to which he was telling me he knows no gigs anymore. Something also in me says something about a side hustle that I can help others out with. Rather unclear. But there is that part of the need to help someone or some org or something. I got out of the car when I reached the destination I still do not know where. But the scene ended up with me recalling the fact that my friend no longer knows of any more side hustles he can tell me about. I remember sitting on a concrete bench in a park looking up at the buildings surrounding the park. *I woke up at this point* . *Thinking what and why was I thinking about side hustles? The sense of need for that side hustle and that helping others out bothered me. It has . . . weight. I don't know how else to describe it.* There. Whew.... Hopefully, the rallying brain cells around the bonfire will start talking about something else now so I can go back to reading. Haha.. Thank you for reading my dear Read-itizen fam! What was your dream lately like? I haven't been remembering my dreams in a long time. Until the entries (2) I've posted in the channel and these two. Oh Don't You Dare! I so wish there is a device we can stick to our temples and have it start typing everything that's going on in our head. I have had a real, good, relaxing staring off into space a few minutes ago and my mind was just off wandering and wondering. So here is me taking a break. Got myself away from my desk, ate a very yummy grilled pork belly. We bought it from the usual seller we buy food from in case none of us have the time to cook. I am pretty sure that she cooked it pretty much the same way she did the other pork bellies we ordered from her. It is just that when you are hungry, brain-tired and hungry ( said that already, didn't I?), any food will very likely taste heavenly. Gosh. I normally would have the usual dip for it - soy sauce, calamansi or vinegar, and a few Basirog. Basirog came from the words *bawang* and *sili* that was *dinurog* so they called it Basirog - crushed chili garlic. But tonight was one of those days I missed catsup so I used catsup instead. Liempo or that grilled pork belly is one of the vanilla food I would pick if I had to make a quick decision of what I want to eat and I no longer want to scan the menu. `Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the good souls who keep me playing with words... my super fabulous and spectacular sponsors.` `Go check them out!` Anyway. I just saw @Temimay mentioned me in her article. She said something about chicken skin most likely being my favorite. Not really too far from the truth. And I do have a chicken skin story. Food can change your mood, yeah? There was one lunch time in the office we had the rare chance of "eating together". Because we handle different projects, it is very seldom that we get to be in the pantry all at the same time unless we really set a time. While back, when I was on my way to the pantry, another colleague caught up in step with me and started talking. I am not really a friendly person. But that was that time when I learned it would not hurt to be a friend every once in a while even for just *that* time. I do try to be accommodating - every once in a while when my social battery is not nearing drained. I figured everyone needs a friend even just for few minutes. Not sure if that makes sense but moving on to the story, anyway. We went to the pantry at the same time. The colleague was not exactly everyone's or anyone's favorite. So my friends then were really amused that we are talking to each other. Laughing and comfortable, too. Straightening a record, the colleague is not a bad person she just happened to be that one person who cannot jive well with the pack. We all sat down and grabbed our chicken share from the bucket in the middle of the table. I sat with my friends at that time and the colleague sat across me. I didn't mind. We were having good conversations anyway. My friends are not snobs either so they, too picked up good going conversation with the colleague. I placed my chicken thigh so well on my plate. Peeled off its skin and set it aside. I save the best for last, of course! I was not even a health junkie. My friends know I will eat that skin. Friends know, right? *Without the need to explain, they know how you eat your chicken.* Everyone then started talking to everyone. I guess no one was really too hungry and everyone just seem to have something to say and add to the conversation. I talked to one of my friends on my right, agreed to the one who was eating standing up because the only other chair that was vacant was too far from us. There were lots of laughter and it was going to be a real good lunch break everyone was in a happy mood. And then, out of nowhere, a fork speared the chicken skin on my plate. And in few seconds, it was gone and I stared wide-eyed at the colleague across me who was chewing happily. I was in shock. Our table fell silent as we all try to take in what really happened. The friends who saw what happened were also shocked. An "ay" and an "oops" was heard. But then one started laughing. Then they all started laughing. They saw my expression change from light, happy and cheerful . . . To murderous. And she was amazingly oblivious and so unaware of the effect of what she just did. It was unbelievable! The one beside me was laughing really hard. Only when they started teasing the colleague did she realize what she should have not done. I re-composed myself. And tried to shrug it off. I was astounded. I am a bit too slow in processing happenings like that. Blame it on my melancholic side. I know at that time I was analyzing the scenario if it was my fault even that she had that idea that she can cross my barrier. I was so pretty sure my invisible social barrier was still up even though we are talking and laughing. I was caught off guard. The friend who was laughing so hard still remembers that scenario to this day. She would laugh and shake her head as she remembered the way the smile from my face got wiped off. She said if she handed me a knife that time, there is a possibility I could have stabbed the person. Looking back, it had me laughing hard as well. *How hard was it to ask first, right?* Had it happened this day, though, there would have been a brawl in my head. I would have been wringing her neck real good. But all in my head. I would still be too shocked to move. *Hitting that publish button!!* Hola, Readitizens! © Pichi28 | `#ClubBrokeBCH` All Original Content Unless specified otherwise... *Let's go get that #BetterSeptember!*

Tunes from Childhood Days I kinda promised myself I will be sleeping early this time to make up for my late night (or early morning) work last night (the other night). Also, I plan to wake up and start early tomorrow (now called "later") since I am madly typing this in my mobile phone at 1:24am. I just need to really quickly put this down. Like I also partly mentioned in my previous article, it is mostly during late nights (early morning) that I have thought spills. Will have this posted later because I am too lazy to find any lead image just yet. So type, save, sleep, wake up, find a lead image - some photo that jumps up telling me to pick it and finally click that publish button. Then go about with my intention to start early at work all because I have to catch up with my deliverables. Anyway. I had this flashback from missing Sunday after service hang outs. Or even just the random meet ups me and friends from church do. Years back, me and my friends had a conversation touching the topic : What were songs from your childhood that you just sang when you were a kid but had more impact now that you're an adult? This was one of those days we were having "healthy talk" where we talk about our lives, thoughts, trials, questions, doubts, new learning and realizations and really just spill out everything. Those not sharing just listens. It is one of those conversations we had set up as our "safe space". Encouragements are shared and some gentle corrections are welcomed also but the idea is it is an unboxing of the thoughts. It may sound serious but, trust me, there were lots of tearful laughter and belly aches during those moments and a lot of pancit canton and Coke or coffee. I was a Coke addict then (again the drink and not the drug). It may also sound organized but it is not always. There is a huge range of flexibility in that safe space. We swing from one topic to another. But we end with a serious take away. visit them .. .visit them ... .visit them. . . and read them Fanatbolous souls .... :D As a kid who frequented attending Sunday school, the very first song that came to mind was : *Jesus Loves Me* The song lyrics was very simple. You can listen to it here : https://youtu.be/aTGUSZf_ah4 Haha. I was so close to yesterday-year-old when I realized there is a "Full version" of the song. I only know the first stanza. I remember singing this to myself in one of my dark, down moments - as an adult. It was one of those moments where you *know but your heart protests and then after a while, your heart knows but your mind protests. I had to calm my soul - to speak hope to it.* The second time I sang this as an adult was to my then three-year-old cousin who cried himself to sleep because our other cousins, his play mates, had to go back to their home ending the fun they were having. This kid has a a beautiful smile. You will know he is happy because it is that type of smile that turns his eyes into happy slits. Haha I can't find the words to describe it. And he was wearing it the whole time they were playing. Witnessing that smile turn into a a sad line and hearing his laughter turn into a painful bawl, was heart-wrenching. He is a solo child. With a mom who was then far away to work and a dad that was also then incognito in their lives. It was our uncle (my mom and his mom's youngest brother) who was looking after him. I watched him sleeping and I felt his loneliness. I silently sang this song over him and praying real hard that when he grows up he would get to know the Jesus I know - the one who loves him so much. Then there is this other song. The one my dad taught us when we were kids. You know when you are a kid you get scared of anything that moves in the dark. Your imagination plays you real good and all that. But I am having trouble looking for the rendition I like and it seems that there were other versions of the lyrics also. I had this habit when I was a kid where I wake up in the middle of the night and I just have to run to my parent's bedroom and slip in between them and continue sleeping hugging either one of them. Between their room and our room, you will pass by a window with the view of the tall trees outside swaying gently with the wind if there is or it stands like a still silhouette if there is none. There were spaces in between trees where I know my imagination tells me there is someone standing there. Things like that. I remember ducking and running when I get to that part. It always felt like if I take a look outside, there would be a figure of someone looking inside - at me - just outside the window up close. The thought that the window is on the second floor with no ledge or any space to stand up on adds more fear. Or I will see that someone standing in between the trees. I caught my older brother running that same way, too, one night. So our dad taught us to sing the song: *In the name of Jesus we have the victory.* Hehe. Did it make us braver then? Haha. Now that I recall it, for a time, yes. But we had moments of singing this while running to our parents' room scared and near tears. Last time I sang it as an adult was when I and other friends were locking the bottom floor of the building we're in. We had to go up to the second floor and get out of the building through the stairs connecting the second floor and the world outside (haha). We need to turn off the lights, too right? The moment we turned off every switch as we pass by it, my friend started humming the song. I started laughing because I know it meant that my friend was taught the same song, too for when we're scared. All grown up now, both are still useful. The last song mentioned now means more than just for being scared, though. Both have progressive impact... *How about you? Any song you learned from when you were a kid and still has impact in your now?* © Pichi28 | `#ClubBrokeBCH` All Original Content Unless specified otherwise... *Let's go get that #BetterSeptember!*

Me, the night owl Alright, I am burning the midnight oil tonight again. Last night was for air drops and this time is for work. Boo! I know it is the weekend but I did win a raffle to be doing the once a month thing along with my teammate. So every once in a while while typing this one out I check the progress in the team chat and by the looks of how they are progressing, I have enough time to put one up. Last night's ARG and KTH drop was mad! Mad in a good way. Like ArticLee mentioned in his article and Dood also commented about in his noise post this morning, the moment people joined in on their telegram (ARG, KTH), the messenger was flooded with addresses. The moderators set a time for when you can start sharing but when you start seeing the massive entries, you'd think it is time already. Good thing they pin posts to calm the crowd. What was also exciting for me there is seeing people in noise and in read. https://t.me/argbch https://t.me/kthtoken *Hoo hooo!* No not "ho! ho! ho!" like Santa. I am trying to spell how an owl sounds like. When a person stays up for long period of time during the night, they are called night owls, nocturnal. Specially those who can be still productive during late hours. I do not work a night shift (except that I am right this very moment - short night shift). But at times, I am most alive at night. So why not work the night shift instead? Two reasons : 1.) At night, I am productive non-work related. Ergo, a lot of praying and thinking and self-talks happen during the night time and beyond. A lot of "oohs " and "aahs". 2.) If I work the night shift, it will ruin my regular travel agenda I know, I know number two can be worked out but not until my two regular travel buddies also work the night shift. Plus majority of my other social circles work on day shift still. It is easier to set meet ups. ayiiieee.. see them lovely boxes below? They my sponsors and you will love their stories ... go go go visit! ***It's in the genes.*** Lol. That is not true. But it is in the family somehow except for my dad. He sleeps early, albeit light, he still sleeps early. At least for me, it's early. My mom, however, is the queen all-nighter. When I was young I remember trying to keep up with her and her siblings whenever there is a stay over in their ancestral house or just anywhere where there is a family event. They can talk all night and laugh all night and still be up next day (if they slept at all) before I even get up. Sadly, though, the silent rule is that kids under seventeen, don't get to stay up late and participate in the adult conversations. That's just my estimate. When we, my siblings and I, finally got to join them, it was fun. A lot of little cousins were born already then - under 17 y.o. So they sleep while we sneak a game on the Nintendo, a lot of eating, ice cream included. ***I'm wired*** ***that way.*** Again not true. Haha. I'm just randomly answering the questions in my head. Why stay up? Aside from the number 1 up there, I am probably finishing up on a mystery book. I started with Nancy Drew books and that, when I was younger, was already thrilling for me. Lols. Then I expanded to other genres and there are just books you can't put down . Specially when it's already due for return in the library next day. Don't ask me which books are those because I am forgetful that way. The clear memory is that those mystery books also had me questioning if the creak on the roof that I heard is some burglar or just a cat. ***I stopped at some point.*** That sounded willful but it is not. At some point after thesis in college, I was suddenly the sleepyhead. After days of pulling an all-nighter to finish the thesis, make sure we are printing the one's with the footnote not cursing the subject, prepping for thesis defense, attending some of our classes, maybe my body felt it was time to make up for those sleepless nights. I remember one time, me and my friends went to Tagaytay. While we were still in Manila, I was able to join them in on their conversations. And then I fell asleep an hour through the drive and next thing I know, they were waking me up. We stayed there a long time hanging out etcetera. When we were going home, I tried to keep up with them as well, next thing I know, they were waking me up because we stopped by one place where we were going to eat breakfast already. It was crazy. ***These days,*** I can no longer pull massive all-nighters. My normal quota is 2am-ish. If I do get sleepy before that, that is very much welcome. Beyond 2, I am no longer useful for anything. EXCEPT for when I get hit by insomnia or when I drank McDonald's' brewed coffee past 5pm. Haha. I still can sleep even if I drink coffee at night except for that one coffee. I remember having good sleep when I was still regularly playing badminton. Enough physical activity to knock me out and wipe out whatever remnants of work stress there is. At times, the sandman just really ran out of sand. *I just yawned. I am now sleepy. .. eh.. but also hungry. The work task, though, is still not starting. Hah! Gotta go move about or eat or something...* ***How about you.. what keeps you up at night?*** © Pichi28 | `#ClubBrokeBCH` All Original Content Unless specified otherwise... *Let's go get that #BetterSeptember!*
