Howdy, fella read-itizens! Just like that, *snaps fingers* Saturday is ending. What did you do this day? I, for one, am sure was barely productive but I forgot I do not have metrics for Saturday "productivity" so it was a productive rest day. Let us put it that way instead.
I needed to get out. I will be stuck on my work chair later again so I needed to get away from the four blank walls of my room or I will start talking to the shadows and laughing at their jokes. I downloaded a Netflix movie, drove out and got myself some salted caramel latte and a salmon dill sandwich and started watching what I have downloaded while I silently chew on my dill and sip on my hot cup.
I was watching or trying to watch this Will Smith movie, Gemini Man. It is a 2019 film and I just saw it in Netflix. I am not sure if I have heard of it before. Or if it was mentioned in one of those conversations I have with my friends about recommendations so I am seeing it just now -2021. Haha. I haven't passed its 30- minute mark and my mind is already going somewhere else. Not that it's boring but Will Smith here feels like the other Will Smith movies - tone of voice, lip expression, jaw tensions, line delivery, etcetera.
I am not a Will Smith fan but I liked (or still like) some of his movies : Hancock (2018), Hitch (2005), Bad Boys (1995,2003). Hitch topping all three. I can watch Hitch over and over again.
The reason my mind is flying elsewhere is because Will Smith looked like a high school classmate/friend of mine. I remember telling my friend that then and I am sure all my other classmates were telling him as well. Also, our teachers are telling him that. Even during our CAT days he will be called Will Smith. I have always battled that urge to dance "Gettin' Jiggy With It" or "Wild Wild West" when he passes by or when we talk. I am pretty sure some other crazy friends would join in on the fun. But he might get pissed.
I was able to get a hold of him in his new account in one of the social media and we were able to catch up a bit. One of his stories showed him saluting - finally as a U.S. Navy.
I chatted him up, like. "Hey! Does that mean if a war is going to break out between the U.S. and the Phil, that means we will be against each other?"
And he was like, "Yeah."
And our conversation continued with other topics. But I cannot take my mind off that probable scenario.
Have you ever thought of that probability that those who you've known from childhood days, migrated somewhere else, became part of their armed forces and boom one day, you will be facing off against each other?
I know civilians do not get to pick up guns during war. Picking one up will lose the exemption of getting killed (huh?) intentionally something like that. At least for that part, not that I have thought of joining our army before, I know the chances of us pointing a gun at each other is close to nil. And at this time, I know of no one from our batch as well who joined our army. The only army I know most joined in is that of the BTS's.
That would be a cool story to explore and maybe play a fiction with, though. Picture two old pals pointing a gun at each other hesitating to pull the trigger because as old friendship silent rules go: do not be the one pulling an arm and landing a fist first. Or am I making that up? Or does that apply when you are at war?
Anyway, flipping these scenarios in my head I also got to think:
Should your country start being in a full on war with other countries, and you would be given a choice to pick a position because we are underhanded, which would you pick:
holding a gun?
holding the medical kits?
This one bit rooted from a conversation I had with one of my other friends in the office.
I would probably stay a civilian. I know that is not fair as "staying as civilian" was not laid out as a choice. Well, that is because I really would like to know your thoughts about it if you were given just these two choices?
Will you be holding a gun?
Will you be holding the medical kits?
To be fair, I am leaning towards holding the medical kits.
Medic!
I probably best be going back to the movie. Pardon my crazy brain. I just cracked it open and emptied it from its oil leak. I probably check on my head screws as well. Excuse me.
Smell y'all later.

I would like to be both. Holding a gun and scalpels. Kill now, treat later. 😁 Bad Boys 2020 was also good though I like the one from 1995.
