If There Was Any Justice In The World.

Money moves most people and it's shameful that we have reduced ourselves and humanity to be bought with money. Nothing is valuable again, in fact, lives are not so cheap that you can take it and go free. What has the world turned into? I know every country have their own story of negligence and lack of justice but I can only speak from the angle of the one I've seen up close in Nigeria and I would say that there is no justice in this country. Justice is for those with no money but once you have money, forget it, you can wriggle your way out of anything. I once saw how a seating senator harassed a salesgirl in a sex toy shop. He slapped the girl, disgraced her and did all sorts and yet the government didn't see it fit to unseat him or reprimand him for displaying a character that is not befitting for his office. Let a common man try the same thing he did, that's when you would see the Deputy Police Officer holding a press conference to address what a menace that person has constituted to the society. The rich and influential seem to get away with everything and the common man can't go free. It looks like the rules are different for them than with everyone else yet they want others to uphold the laws they can't also uphold? No wonder it was said that civilization is in danger when those who have never learned to obey are given the right to command. Most of these people do as they like in Nigeria because they are not bound by the laws they created but they seem to adjust just fine when they travel outside the country. The problem is that we don't enforce our laws because when we start doing that, naturally, human nature would adapt to it. The problem is mainly about greed and that is why you see youths shouting and clamouring for these aged people to lead us. Leaders should lead by example and yet these aged people can't even lead successfully without spending half of their term overseas for treatment. Imagine how terrible it looked for a seating president to travel outside the country for treatment when it is not as though there are no hospitals in his country. Let's imagine that there are no fully equipped hospitals for his kind of ailment isn't that a perfect reason for him to introduce that so that those who can't afford to travel out can then seek help locally? I wouldn't be surprised if the constant travels on medical grounds were to launder money or maybe to hide the true state of the health issues the president is having. Who knows? Everything is a game to them and the citizens are pawns on their chessboard. Once you have money and influence, you can bypass protocol. Others would shout and scream and you would still get what you want because they know all we can do is shout without really enforcing anything.
A friend of mine reached out to me on Monday telling me how angry and ridiculous our police force is. There was this Civil Defence officer who ran over a bike man with his wife on the bike too. The man died instantly but the wife sustained serious head bruises. My friend happened to know the bike man and when she was told, she was hell-bent on making the officer pay for what he did. The man initially admitted his wrongs but I guess after the police spoke with him, they asked him to change his statement. The policemen started saying the bike man was at fault (*because he wasn't alive again to defend himself and the wife is still in the hospital*). My friend told me this on Monday and I was really sad. She wasn't going to go down without a fight and just yesterday, she said that the officer who had this accident said he would pay **300,000 Naira** (**$535**) for the family for their loss and also another **300,000 Naira** (**$535**) to buy another bike for the family. I believe the police put him up to this because they felt the money would impress the family and since they don't have the means to drag a court case, then they want to appease them with money since "he is dead and nothing can be done again" - that's how they would think anyway. A lot of things are wrong with this country and it's tiring. You are trying to make ends meet and yet you can't even be protected by the system or those who swore to protect lives and properties. It's disheartening and heart-wrenching. I can imagine how much he must have paid those police officers to help him get off the hook and swing things around. Humanity is getting lost and it is worrisome. They have no regard for this man's family or how they must be feeling right now with the state they would be in especially knowing this man was the breadwinner of his family. It's really sad. Really it painful that some class of Nigerians believe and leaves above the law. I had an encounter at Osborne on the island, a man found doing against the law and tried to be cautioned he told me that Nigeria laws are for the poor. I see it that our judiciary and legislative arm are the course of the injustices our nation is in.
Just imagine what that person said and that's exactly how it is because that's how they live. They live above the law and do as they like.
Nigeria is off the list of countries that serves justice, it can only be bought when you are bigger than the other person involved. In 2011, I was accused of abducting a 14-year-old girl when I was barely 16. I was held at the police station because the girl's mother was dating one of the senior police officers. No investigation was done and I got the criminal tag immediately, at the end we got to know that the police acted on the information given by a little girl who said aunty Kemi is Uncle Damola's wife since she sees the girls a lot on my phone call booth. Thanks to the intervention of my mom's brother who is a senior inspector, he took the case up and reveal the truth. If I didn't get his help, I might have ended my journey as a criminal. Aside from not committing the crime, where on earth do they prosecute a 16 year old without proof? If the killer of Sylvester was a poor man's child, we would have seen this big thief saying different grammar on the Internet 🌐
Just imagine... Just imagine that! Prosecuting a minor without proof. They don't even understand the law and they just want to use their power. What if you didn't have the help of that man? Oh God. Everything is wrong with this country and it has turned to power tussle. Without connection, justice cannot prevail in this country and that's not the best way to live. It's painful.
Now every nation has a corrupt system. Whom to blame?
We have ourselves to blame, my friend.
It is true that the government make laws in favour of the rich and only to oppress the poor. Now a rich person or a politician will get away with a hundred times what a poor man will spend a lifetime in prison for. It's horrific.

I despise that senator harassing the sales lady of sex toy, like wtf is wrong with politicians in there that they can't respect ordinary people just because they are in the position? I hope that senator will be punished by Karma very hard.
I sincerely hope he gets what's coming for him too because he used his power to oppress that girl for whatever reasons. It's sad because CCTV picked it up and yet justice wasn't served.
Yes dear it's right. Justice is now being a word in our society. If upper class do wrong things then law is like handicap. But mistakenly if middle or especially lower class do wrong then see how they treat those people.
That's just how it is... Different measures for different people. It's sad.

Nigeria my country. What a country. I have once denied this country but I still don’t know why I find myself there. We are the problem of ourselves. Let’s just forget about those old aged men. How about our generations to come. We keep saying we want a good governance. Thereby within our selves there is nothing different. The change should begin with us. Let’s imagine a beggar who tried to steal something to eat , the community would make sure they nearly kill him for what he did. Instead of asking out his reason for stealing and render him support not to do that anymore if needed. Thereby those we are to counter attack are those sitting on our sweat 😓 and spending them lavishly. Yes we can’t do anything about it. If they created their circle and use their power to do whatever they want. Only if we could be United and stand as one then we they can never stand a chance to penetrate. And if probably some of us get to the top they should remember how they started and make changes. But our mindsets is totally different. So sad to hear of the bike man incident. It’s so painful. What does 600k want to do in their family life. He still got the gut to propose such to them. What I see is the fact that they think they would never die again. Which is never possible. I just hope we realize that the day we would leave the world we aren’t going with anything as we came to the world with nothing.
I totally enjoyed this brilliant and well laid out explanation. You have said the truth and we need to do better because most people have been corrupted by these leaders so when they have the opportunity to rule, they would do the same if not worse. If people think of the end and that they would also die, maybe it would help their choices because these people are sold out to the devil already and they just don't care.
Life in Nigeria is becoming more difficult everyday and there is nothing to do about it. A nation where the person that stole 10 thousand Naira only is jailed and snake is swallowing 32 million Naira. Youths that are supposed to take leadership position are silenced forever. What can we do? Nothing
It's scary and even more annoying because they do this injustice, rub it in our faces and made us know there is nothing we can do about it.
Nothing surprises me anymore in we country... Everything gets worse by the day. Just doing my best and praying for God's mercy upon me and loved ones.

Justice is serve for those who have the wealth. I don't know but this is what I see. Some poor ones asking for mercy but don't get anything, no improvement at all whereas those who have the money, the case will instantly close and the murderers will be in jail.
That's the sad reality and this has to stop.
I am a very firm believer that " we would surely reap what we sow". No matter how long it takes. If justice is not served by man then we shall definitely not escape God's justice. ☺
