The Bora Cube of Oslob Cebu
Back when we were in Oslob, we had decided to celebrate the mother-in-law’s birthday early for many reasons. Aside from the whole family and relatives’ dinner celebration on the 23rd, we also dined outside at Bora Cube Food Park in Lagunde, Oslob.
This is just a nearby place and it has been a while since I had asked the husband to go there but we never had the chance until the night of the 22nd of March.
My husband’s brother also has never dined here before so they agreed on having dinner here.
Bora Cube Food Park houses around eight business hubs there’s a coffee shop, pizza, shawarma, and barbecue station, a halo halo and milk tea area as well as some KTV and tequila bar. One thing that also surprised us was that there’s a laundry shop here too!
Signs outside the food park display all these shops and cafes. Our goal was for dinner so we headed to their restaurant which they refer to as Bora Restaurant.
The ambiance looks inviting especially since they had made huge CUBE light-up letters at the entrance. The ground was filled with gravel, white ones and the center part of the cube has a series of circular lights which looked nice in photos, in fact, it was the first thing that we did, take photos!
Matti and papa at Bora Cube!
But I asked the husband to order food first so it won’t take long for us to wait for the food to be served.
The restaurant has a Mexican vibe, they got a huge statue of a restaurant server wearing a Mexican hat, and the kids were scared of that man. The walls of the restaurant have a red brick design, I later figured It was just a painting! But they had interesting lights from the outside and inside chandeliers too. I like that they had added several varieties of plants to beautify the restaurant.
Also, the kitchen can be seen from the outside as they have transparent clear glass for their window.
As soon as we enter the room, there were hats again on the wall, and some geometric shelves too. We were asked about the headcount and then showed to a bigger table. They don’t have air conditioning here but they do have a couple of stand fans.
Our orders were spring rolls, sinigang na hippo or shrimp soup, baked scallops, baby back ribs, buttered chicken, and pork sisig. We also got iced tea and four seasons of juice for the drinks. They don’t offer platters though for the rice.
It took us a few minutes of waiting, I roamed around the food park, there were interestingly designed spots and areas within but I noticed that there were only a few customers. There was a group of young men dining in when we arrived but as soon as they were out, it was just us in the restaurant.
I figured, perhaps this is because of their food pricing. Their food was not spectacular though in terms of taste. Some of them were in fact salty but we still managed to finish them all though because it would be a waste of money to just leave them.
Spring rolls, six pieces with coleslaw at Php 155.
Shrimp soup at Php 265
Baked Scallops, ten pieces at Php 235
Baby Backribs with rice at Php 345
Buttered Chicken, six pieces at Php 220
Sizzling Pork Sisig at Php 185
Overall, we paid a total of Php 1915 including the drinks, four bottled water, and the rice.
We still enjoyed the fellowship we had and this celebration. We praise God for my mother in law’s life, she’s already in her early 50’s and she’s still very much active, she cooks for the entire family, washes the clothes, dishes, and whenever I would try to do those chores, she would just tell me to relax and she’ll do it. I must say, we are very pampered when we are in Oslob because of her.
The rest of the time, the kids were just playing and enjoying each other’s company. We decided to go home after a while. Still, there were no other customers when we left. It was a quiet night for them. I believe customers might come during happy hours instead of for drinks.
