Mindset ba. Mindset.
This phrase has crept into every Filo newsfeed: “mindset ba, mindset.” This is often paired with memes or silly hacks guised as an alternative idea. Though this new trend is primarily made for fun, I love what it implies – when everyone else thinks the same, think differently. When everybody else is going in the same direction, go the opposite. Think creatively. Think outside the box. Don’t be limited with what you have now. Expand your mindset. Grow your mindset.
I always make it a point to reach my word count every day. Though I sometimes miss days of writing especially when I am very busy or am not physically well to face my laptop, I go back to writing as soon as I can. My daily word count helps me develop my appetite for words and forces me into the discipline of writing regularly. I want to develop this habit because I believe practice makes me better. Mindset ba, mindset.
But what other helpful mindset shifts can we make to improve our lives? Let me recommend some:
Stay focused
We are surrounded by lots of distractions around us. Advertisements will always catch our attention. It seems that we are at the mercy of commercialism. With just a simple notification from our mobile phone, our focus is already compromised. So, what can we do to counter it? Stay focused. It is a little mindset shift, but it promises big returns! Imagine the quality of work we can do when we do things more focused and more intentional. Minimize the power of distractions. Stay focused.
Stay curious
As we grow older, we tend to let go of our natural inclinations to discover. Our sense of wonder and curiosity seem to wane as we venture into adulthood. Therefore, we think that adulthood is boring and monotonous. We set aside our childish curiosities because of the responsibilities that come with adulthood. But I believe we can still stay curious no matter our age! Never stop exploring! Be on the lookout for new discoveries and bask in the pleasure of satisfying your curiosities! Learning happens when we say curious. Keep on exploring!
Stay motivated
Stay on your lane and keep your grit on fire! Don’t lose the passion that you have in the beginning. Make it a fuel to fire up your journey. Things will get rough at times and people might disappoint you a little but stay motivated. Don’t lose your drive. In a world where people just throw in the towel when things don’t happen the way, they want to, insist, and persist. You’ll never reach the summit when you stop midway.
Stay grateful
An attitude of gratitude is an excellent ingredient for a positive outlook and a winning mindset. Grateful people see opportunities even in difficult situations. It is not toxic positive. Toxic positivity dismisses reality for the sake of positive thinking. Being grateful is seeing that not everything that happens are problem and difficulty. Be grateful even when times are hard – it makes you stronger. Be grateful when people leave you – you know who not to depend on. Be grateful for daily wins, no matter how small they seem – you’re on your way to the top!
Stay humble
A little victory mixed with arrogance is a sure way to downfall. Arrogance is detested. Humility is rewarded. Though seen differently in this world’s standards, in the sight of the Lord, humility is commendable. Stay humble. People want to brag and flaunt whatever they have, at the expense of good manners. But sweet victories savored with humility are worthy of applause and adoration from people. Again, stay humble.
Don’t be limited with your current mindset. Things will get better when we grow out of our usual selves. Mindset ba, mindset.
Ayan ang mahirap yung pag se set ng mindset into other stuff haha. Kakatamad lang minsan kasi talaga jusme. Pero ang mga bills di natigil di sila nagpapahinga.
