Hello everyone, happy Sunday to you all. How did you spend your Sunday? Mine started with church, that was where I met a very old friend that I have lost contact with and we chatted a bit. After that, the rest of the morning proceeded normally when I got back from church until I came across something disturbing on Twitter.
I was actually reading an article here on readcash when a notification from Twitter popped up on my screen. I was immediately hooked when I saw the caption and I went straight to Twitter to read the full post, I will just drop a screenshot of the post here so y'all can read it as well.
Just when you thought you have seen it all, then you got hit by something beyond crazy, how can her own family do this to her? Is it that they are afraid of the rapist? Or that they can't deal with the shame of letting it go public? Or maybe the rapist paid them to keep everything on the low, but that doesn't explain why they can't abort the pregnancy.
Despite the psychological trauma the young girl has gone through because of the rape, it was made worse by her family who refused to get justice for her. Now tell me, if her own family couldn't stand by her in this situation, who else is she going to meet? Who will be willing to fight her battles when her family has forsaken her?
Most of us see our families as the last line of defense, if everyone in the world is against else, we believe our family is going to stand with us but apparently, this girl's family wasn't even her first line of defense. Family is sacred and bonded by blood, they are the oldest people we know on earth. I mean, who has been with you right from birth except for your family? So it's only normal that we trust them so much.
But what happens when that trust is broken? Some months back, I shared a bizarre story of a man and his mother ganging up to kill the younger son for money ritual purposes, and get this, it was the mother that bought the poison and gave it to the younger son so he will eat and die! His own mother and brother killed him, now isn't that just crazy?
Now we have a case of a young girl that was raped by a family friend and the parents couldn't do anything about it, is it that the so-called family friend is more important than their daughter? This is something that most mothers will fight tooth and nail just to see that their daughter gets justice, but that didn't seem to be the case here.
Is anybody going to be surprised that the young girl committed suicide? I definitely am not surprised, people have killed themselves for something even less than this, it's going to be very depressing to live that way. Her mental health has been damaged first of all by that rape, then it was made worse by the family.
She could have been taken to therapy to fix her mental health and the rapist could have been arrested and brought to justice but instead, she was locked up at home while the culprit is roaming freely. The thoughts of the rapist walking freely is enough to even kill her, and then she finds out she's pregnant and is going to have the baby π
When I finished reading this story on Twitter, my mind immediately flashed back to an old 2pac song titled Brenda got a baby and I looked at the similarities between both stories. In Brenda's case, she was only 12 years only when she got pregnant by her cousin.
Her family abandoned her when she gave birth to the baby and was left on her own. She tried and failed at keeping a job, so at last, she went into prostitution but she ended up getting killed later on. It was a true-life story and it happened in the 90s, then 2pac sang about it. You can check out the song below.
Now, something similar has happened and a young girl has lost her life because of the stupidity of her family. Many of us are lucky to be in a good family where we think our biggest problem is our mom not supporting some of our choices, but you will be shocked when you hear about some of the things going on in other families around you.
We should be grateful for the family we have, I see some people getting envious of someone's else family and wanting to have something like that but they don't know they already got the best. As for the last thing the Twitter user said about fighting the rest of the family at the funeral, I am fully in support of that. The whole world needs to hear about the shameful thing they did and the family has to come to terms with the fact that they killed their own daughter.
Peace was never an option, let there be violence

There's a saying that goes like this.
If outsiders are after your life, you will run home for protection, what will now happen when the home is after your life? Who will you run to? This life is just somehow and the family committed murder.
