Sinigang sa Pakwan 😋 From my previous post the other day, I became a fruit ninja and cut up a huge watermelon. 😂 I also included some things to consider in order to choose the perfectly ripe, juicy watermelon when buying from the market/supermarket. For tonight’s dinner, since we are sort of having an abundance of watermelons, I thought of a way to incorporate them into our viand. We are having the all time classic pork sinigang, but now with a twist. I first heard of…

And yet again, this little one was the lucky furbaby chosen for this afternoon’s car ride~ 💕 His brother and sister were inside the bedroom as I was going out, and he was the one left in the living room. When I took the car keys, he heard them clink and he followed me right away, already excited, tail wagging and all that. This excitement and energy wasn’t evident when he was already in the car, though! Unlike Ellie who likes moving around the car to sightsee, Charlie just…

It is the break of dawn and I’m having my early morning walk. The place in the photo is just a few blocks away from our apartment. It’s quite chilly, but having some alone-time is quite nice. It gives me a chance to think and ponder about the most random things in life. The city is also peaceful and a lot quieter in the early mornings. ☺️ Our journey in life varies from person to person. It doesn’t matter if you’re still here, and the people from the same generation as you…

Sharing the sandwich I made this morning for today’s snacktime! 😋 I had a very light breakfast, so I knew I was gonna be hungry in the middle of breakfast and lunch. Lol! This is probably just gonna be brunch. I think I’ll still be full during lunch time. Now let’s get to the details of the sandwich! I used honey wheat bread, then I added some baby spinach for the greens. I put this next to the bread so that the bread won’t get soggy from the wet-ish ingredients. Next I put…

Hello, everyone!~ I just wanted to share my progress in making this Belle amigurumi. She’s my favorite Disney Princess! Hahaha! I am finally done until the head part. I’ll be working on the hair and clothes next! It was most difficult for me to sew on the details of the lids, lashes, and the eyebrows. I’ll need to practice more on this! 😅 I used quite a bulky yarn, so the project turned out quite large, at 11 inches in height. 😱Nakakaloka! Gusto ko lang naman po sana yung…

As the day ends, I recapped what had happened and this is what I noticed: Yesterday, or even just last night, we had strong winds and heavy rain downpour. There were flashes of lightning followed by loud roars of thunder. Some areas around town were flooded, with cars even washed away. We were lucky that our area was not that much affected. But today, when I woke up, this is what I saw outside my window. It’s amazing how nature changes so drastically, even just overnight.…

Cheers for today’s breakfast! It’s homemade tocino with garlic fried rice and eggs~ A big breakfast for a big day! ♥️ Recently, I’ve been craving for the silog rice topping bowls that I usually had for breakfast when I was still at the university. I lived in a dormitory back then and since classes start at 7am sharp, I don’t normally get to prepare my own breakfast. I just buy the breakfast meals from the school cafeteria during break time. One of my favorites was the…

It’s a very pleasant morning today~ ☀️ I went on an early morning walk/jog to avoid the crowds of people on the streets. The air was chilly and crisp, as you would expect from the -ber months. It’s amazing how even just the atmosphere can give you that all too familiar feeling that Christmas is approaching. Since I was a bit tired when I got back, I just thought of quick fixing breakfast. Here’s a simple fruit smoothie that I made! I added some frozen watermelon, a frozen…

@KatalinaCraft

After having his scrumptious dinner, this little fella went straight to the door of the bedroom and sat in contempt like this. 🥲 The furbabies had a special dinner tonight because we had some pancit, which means the ingredients include their favorite chicken, carrots, and liver~ Before cooking the actual pancit dish, we parboiled the chicken and liver first so that we could separate some pieces to mix with their dog food. We added in some unseasoned carrots in there too.…

Sundays are quiet days~ 💜 Since today I’m waking up quite later than my almost usual 6-ish AM, I just wanted a quick-fix breakfast. As I was staring at my ever-so-colorful bowl of cereal, it got me thinking. Nowadays, the world is a lot kinder to the LGBTQ+ community compared to before. I am sincerely so glad of this improvement. Though I may not be a member of the said community, some of my friends are, and I tell you, they are one of the kindest, most brilliant,…

Today is one of my best friends’ birthday. It is unfortunate that we couldn’t celebrate together because of the pandemic. As such, I’ve decided to just cherish one of the best memories we had together. One time in the past, we decided to go on a road trip in a whim. We ended up in Sagada, a quaint town situated atop the Cordillera Mountains. Despite being unplanned, this trip turned out to be one of the best decisions we made in our lives. The town, albeit small, was so…

This Sunday, I finally managed to finish making her!~ Well, almost, because I have yet to secure the hair wig. 😅 Introducing my Princess Belle amigurumi doll~ 💛Handmade by me, and pattern designed by Green Frog Crochet. I’ve long been procrastinating about making the hair wig because I thought it would be too tiresome but boy, was I wrong! I really enjoyed making the hair! 🥰 My favorite are making the hair and the dress. This is my first time crocheting a pattern from…

Kiltepan Peak, Sagada, Mountain Province I took this photo of an ethereal view at the Kiltepan Peak during the break of dawn. My best friend and I went on this trip together a few years back. We started the trek at around 3AM to get to the peak just in time to watch the sunrise. It was difficult to wake up so early in the morning, but we knew it was going to be well worth it. It was a short-ish, quite easy hike to reach the summit. If you’re lucky, you’ll be able to witness…

@KatalinaCraft

This little baby got to wear his Halloween costume quite early~ 🥰 He was scheduled for grooming today and his fur was cut really short because of the tangles. I try to brush him everyday but sometimes, when they lick themselves, I guess it becomes unavoidable for the fur to clump together. 😔 Since the atmosphere is getting chilly, and he is quite skinny, he got really cold and had some short shivering episodes. We put his bumblebee costume on since it looked like the warmest…

SUNSET IN BALI Bali is an island in Indonesia that has always been known for its numerous beaches and wonderful sunsets. I personally took this photo at the Uluwatu Temple, where a lot of tourists like us eagerly waited for the sunset. We got there early in the afternoon so that we can have time to explore the place. The temple looks like it was built on top of a rock formation and there were stairs carved on the sides of the mountain. Our local guide told us that this was…

Wishful thinking… As I’m having my quiet lunch break, my thoughts started wandering off and suddenly, I found myself remembering how I’ve always wanted to go on a date in an aquarium. Lol! This is of course inspired by all the anime and Japanese dramas that I have been watching! I’m sure my fellow fans can understand this! 😂 I snapped this photo when my family and I went to Marine World in Fukuoka, Japan. I’m not sure if it was a popular tourist spot, but I arranged the…

Today, I got a little bit worried for my baby Charlie. He was having watery stools and was not as active as he usually is. He still eats and drinks water and I believe those are good signs that he’s thriving but I am worried that this might take a turn for the worse. When I call his name, he still looks up to me like in the photo. Do you furmommies have any advice for me? We are planning to take him to the vet tomorrow, as long as the weather permits. We are still…

Take to the Sky~ Good morning, dearest friends! How are you all today? I am sharing this photo that I took while aboard a plane. It’s a gentle sunrise, much like today’s. I don’t normally take photos hike I’m on the plane but I thought this view was mesmerizing, especially with the sea of clouds. The week is almost at an end again and I would just like to gently remind everyone to take some time out of your busy schedules and treat yourselves to something nice. Everyone…

Partners in crime~ I decided to make a partner in crime for the first amigurumi I ever made! Just for a brief review, the bear keychain on the right (2nd photo) is the first amigurumi I ever made. Details of this can be found here: https://noise.cash/post/n3xmkrgb0p905 I am planning to give this one away to someone special so I wanted to make another one that will stay with me. To be honest, I am quite hesitant to give it away because like I said, I’m quite attached to it…

A Breakfast with Love Today is such a special Friday because my mom came to visit me at the apartment. She insisted on making me this wonderful, wonderful breakfast despite the fact that I should be the one making her a meal. She insisted on cooking all my favorite viands in one big plate, saying the ever famous mother’s line- “breakfast is the most important meal of the day, so you should never miss it!” Lol! But I think she went overboard and did an overkill. Just look at…

Lunch Time Musings I’m having a little quiet time at work and to me, silence means my head will start buzzing. This is a photo of one of the artistic pieces decorating one of the walls at the Gamcheon Culture Village in Busan, South Korea. I made a separate post about the entire area here: https://noise.cash/post/j3wg57zan8rnm It is a must visit place for Korean culture and drama fans, as here you can get a chance to rent and wear a hanbok all around the village. It’s pretty…

My Chubby Furbaby One of my cousins took this little furball to the vet today since it’s her schedule to get vaccinated. I am proud of her because ever since she was a puppy, she never reacted to needle pricks during vaccination. She just stands there, her back to the vet, vet delivers the injection, and she has no reaction. Lol! Not even a sound! She’s not like her brothers, Macky and Charlie. (Charlie is doing well now, by the way!). But there’s only one problem. The vet…

WAY BACK HOME We’re on a short road trip home today and Come on Home by Lewis Ross is on the stereo. Ahhhh, how calming! Listening to this song is painting some pictures inside my head. Somehow, it’s making me remember our trip to Fukuoka, Japan way back before the pandemic. Since Fukuoka is quite small-ish, we didn’t have a lot of popular places to visit. Instead, we went to different parks to enjoy the landscape. This is one of the parks we took a stroll on. Please excuse…

My brother lost his earphone case the other day. He never told me about it. He just borrowed my case to charge and that’s when I asked what happened. Apparently, he dropped it unknowingly on his way back home. Luckily, we have the same model of earphones so he could borrow mine to charge. But when he goes to work, he only uses a small tattered ziplock bag to house his earphones. I saw it and.. it broke my heart a little. I thought to myself, hey, I’m a crocheter. And I can…

CHURCH OF ST. MARY THE VIRGIN This is a small, quaint church delicately situated on top of a hill in Sagada, Mountain Province. My best friend and I went there on a long weekend. On our last day, which was Sunday, we visited this church to pray. It was just a walking distance from the place we were renting. It was a short trek uphill, but seeing this church on top is so much worth the effort. Of course, I didn’t miss the chance to take these photos myself. Our local guide…

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ELLIE! Today has been a busy day for me. We celebrated Ellie’s birthday! We just had cake and pancit but we wanted to make it special for this adorable little one. I tried to dress her up and look how she poses! She seems to think her left side is her angle. Lol! That’s the crocheted dress I made for her. I apologize for the blurry, zoomed in photo. I couldn’t come any closer because if I did, she’d come running at me. Lol! Now I realized that I zoomed in too…

A PLEASANT PURPLE SURPRISE I was at my parents’ house until this morning and as I was setting out for work, I caught a glimpse of this flower in her garden. It was on the ground so I’m not sure if it’s really one of her beloved plants (in pots) or if it just sprouted wildly. I sent her a photo and she was surprised herself. She said it’s not one of her “babies” and it was her first time seeing it. She immediately went out of the house to take a look. Lol! She’d love to know…

MORNING MISHAPS Today, I woke up early thinking that I will only need to go to work in the afternoon. I had my early morning walk and even had time to do some brooding and browse my phone before making breakfast. I decided to make pork tocino with fried rice and sunny side up egg for myself and my brother. Then it came. I got a call from my co-worker saying that there has been a mix up in the schedule and I have to go this morning. I was honestly disappointed, but didn’t…

INDIAN SWEETS I got this box of Indian sweets from a friend at work today! Don’t they look really colorful and appetizing? I feel like I am in a gourmet restaurant eating them for dessert! Lol! I forgot to ask her if these individual tarts have different names, but I already ate 2 of them and both were really good! They almost had similar taste. It’s sweet, kind of has a caramel filling, then I can taste sweet milk and some sort of.. fragrance (?). I’m not sure what that…

Humble Beginnings Today, I feel like sharing the first ever bottle holder that I made way back when I was starting to crochet. The pattern reminds me of a beehive. This was last year, when the pandemic just started. Yes, that explains the tattered, worn-out looking yarn as this has already been washed a couple of times. I made this for myself, because back then I didn’t have the confidence to make things for others yet. Now, I’ve been making more stuff for my friends and…

Big Breakfast for the Busy I need to get to work early today since we’ll be having a staff meeting. This is a little deviation from my usual morning routine but since I was expecting it, I’ve planned ahead. Probably too much. Now I’m 30mins early. Lol! I have a feeling that it’s going to be looong day today, so I wanted to prepare for it with a quick but heavy breakfast. I made toast and a one-pan-straight omelette. I call it one-pan-straight because I didn’t have to take…

Thursday Blues It’s almost the end of the week and most of the time, this is the day I feel most exhausted. Today’s been pretty busy and I still have a few chores to do at home. I thought I needed some time to relax and “breathe,” even for just a couple of minutes. Watching sunsets always relaxes me somehow. This is the view I captured from the roof deck of our old apartment. I would very much prefer it if I could watch the sunset amongst forest trees but unfortunately, I…

My Kind of Sea This is one of the photos I took on our visit to Buda, Davao City. We went there for my cousin’s wedding, and we had side trips along the way. We started out early in the morning to catch the sunrise amidst the sea of clouds. It was truly a marvelous sight! I love the watching the ocean from the shore, but I personally prefer watching a sea of clouds atop a mountain. Maybe their rarity makes them more special. Seeing this calms my excited nerves. I think I can…

A Furry Welcome Hello, Saturday! This means I’m coming home to my babies~! Lol! I would like to share a photo of our furbaby Macky when he was still a puppy. He was less than a year old here and he was so small. Even now, compared to his younger brother and younger sister, he’s still the smallest despite being the eldest. He’s currently 4 years old, but still has a cute puppy face. He was very energetic and playful when he was younger but when he came past one and a half…

Passing by St. Sophia Cathedral I personally took this photo when we went for a quick visit to St. Sophia Cathedral in Harbin, China way back in 2019. I tried to be creative with my shot but I’m not sure if it’s a yay or a nay! Lol! Just to give a brief history, our tour guide mentioned that this church was build in the 1900’s and has adopted a Russian Style Architecture. There was an attempt before to destroy it due to some cultural revolution, but it has survived and the…

Monday Sunrise Surprise Today, I got to our apartment quite early enough to watch the sunrise. I was quite surprised when I looked out the window because to me, this sunrise almost looks like a sunset. Lol! Usually, sunrises for me are brighter, and have a softer, lighter tone of yellow. You could also barely pick out the circular shape of the sun because of the bright rays, but this time, the sun is quite sharply delineated. I’ve seen sunrises like this before, but only…

Okay everyone, I don’t mean to be negative but I just want to spread awareness that this type of person exists here. :) Just now, a user copied and pasted my new post. They even had the audacity to copy my photo and use it, even if my watermark is CLEARLY there. My original post can be found here: https://noise.cash/post/j0n0k22an8rnm I’m not sure if @noise.cash will notice, but I hope they will. I attached a screenshot of the copycat’s post. I hope this can remind everyone…

Frozen River in Sun Island My title seems a little ironic today, doesn’t it? I’m sharing these photos I took from Sun Island in Harbin, China. We went there in February 2019, just in time for the famous Ice and Snow Festival (and not to mention just in time before the pandemic hit us!). After passing through the entrance arch, you need to traverse a bridge going to the main park. If I remember correctly from our guide, this is the Songhua River. It may seem that the river…

Caffeinated Chocolates Yesterday, a friend from work gave me more of these Awake chocolates. These little fellas contain 50mg of caffeine per small packet. Just for comparison, the usual caffeine content of 1 cup brewed coffee is about 96mg while it’s roughly 63mg for a packet of instant coffee. The label at the back says, “Not recommended for children, pregnant or nursing women and persons sensitive to caffeine.” For someone like me who is not a usual coffee drinker (I’m a…

Korean Fresh Strawberry Milk This photo was taken at the Jinhae Cherry Blossom Festival in Busan, South Korea back in 2019. This was quite a memorable year for me because it’s that one special year that my family and I got to travel a few times. Thinking back, I’m very thankful because it’s the year just before the pandemic hit us! Who would have ever predicted covid, right? I am a big fan of strawberries and what sets this apart from the ones that can be bought in grocery…

Sunrise Retreat The week is coming to an end and I’m starting to feel drained and unsettled. With this note, I’d like to share this sunrise photo that I took during our post-grad retreat in Caleruega, Batangas. Somehow, it’s providing me with the peace and calm that I need. Watching the sunrise really has this special effect on me. I feel like it’s gently touching my soul, caressing it until it is restless no more. It feels good to reminisce the memories that came with it.…

Hello, Saturday! After a grueling week, I am finally coming home to our furbabies! I know it’s supposed to be “Cat”urday but since we didn’t have any cats, let me share a photo of our three little dogs. It’s my first time sharing a photo of the three of them together. This was taken during our grandma’s birthday and since she loved flowers, tadaaa~ they are wearing some! Lol! She was so pleased! They’re all equally cute, and each have their own personalities. I’d have to say…

DIY Sip & Gogh Experience Since it’s a Sunday and the family is all together, we thought, what would be a fun family activity? Sip & Gogh is like an art center where clients get to paint with guidance and assistance from their personnel while getting served wine and cheese (or some other kid-friendly meal, your choice!). We tried this experience once before but that was like 4 years ago. It was a bit pricey, but it was a nice one-time experience. Now, we thought of trying it…

Morning Ride Took this photo on the drive back to the apartment and since I was on shotgun and my brother wasn’t that much of a talker, I had quite some time to brood things over. With this view, I felt like talking to my soul. Lol! I think that one of the greatest forms of happiness is contentment. You might hear other people say, “Oh, you shouldn’t be content with what you have, you should always strive to be more, gain more.” I guess there is a fine line between being…

Weeknight Dinner Decided to make something quick and simple tonight! It’s fish fillet in garlic butter sauce with rice and spinach on the side. I tried my very best to make this a one-pan dish (because who likes washing dishes, right? Lol!) but I really had to make the sauce in another pan. For the spinach, they’re just sautéed with garlic in olive oil with a little salt and pepper. For the fish fillet, I first seasoned them with salt then lightly coated them in plain flour…

A River of Ice I took this photo during our visit to the Songhuajiang Highway Bridge in Harbin, China way back in February 2019. Winter was almost done, but the river was still frozen. As tourists, we couldn’t miss walking on the bridge, where there were parts of the flooring that was made of thick glass so you can see through below. But I was more mesmerized with the view from afar, capturing the bridge with the frozen river. Some people went walking on the ice, but our…

Gradient Skies Took this photo earlier in the afternoon as I got home from work. Out of nowhere, it made me feel quite sentimental. It’s almost the end of the week again and most of my energy stores are depleted. Despite that, I’m glad there’s another weekend to look forward to. Isn’t it great that something that simple can keep us going throughout a week? Just the simple thought of a “weekend”, being able to go home and see my parents, spending time with my loved ones-…
