Heya, friends, another Thursday to gather all up the news this week. I am glad that I do not forget this trend every Thursday haha! I was to make an article and then I remembered that today is Thursday. So how is your day so far?

1) A Volcano erupted causing deaths.
The Tonga Volcano erupted last January 14, causing three deaths reported by the Tonga government. It is set that this eruption is the biggest one in the last three decades. It is so big that it can be seen in space. The UN World Health Organization is also there to help the people who were devasted by the eruption. It was reposted that a lot is still missing. There is an evacuation center for people to go to in case of another eruption. The government of Tonga still advises the people to wear masks, and prepare emergency kits. The internet and international calls are still not stable.
I saw a video on TikTok that the waves reached Santa Cruz, California. That is miles and miles away from the eruption. Also, the volcano is near the Philippines.
2) Sara Duterte wants mandatory military service.
What do you think of this, guys? If she is elected as the vice president, she wants that teenagers 14 and up, boys or girls should undergo military training. She said that ROTC is not enough. She compared it with the military service of the countries, South Korea and Israel where the citizens undergo such training in preparation for wars or threats to the country. Also, people who will undergo this training will have a subsidy.
I saw this comment that, what if the teen girls will intentionally get pregnant just to avoid this training? What if people will make excuses just not to have a training. There will be a lot to consider if we have to implement this rule. Of course, not all of us will be in favor.
3) A dog returned safety after 3 weeks.

This dog named Snickers ran away from home. It was a cold and harsh winter when that happened. People are looking for him after he disappeared but cannot find this cute dog. The weather is minus 23, and so they believe that Snicker probably did not make it. One day the owner received a call and saw the dog running in the street. The fact that at night, cayotes are everywhere. Owner said that it is a miracle that Snickers survived the weather and the environment. Snickers were reunited again with his owners after 3 weeks. I believe that dogs are very smart animals. We should love them as they love us. I know they cannot talk when in pain or sad, they are just there to listen to us always. Please, love our pets and take care of them.
4) A man won $1,000 a week for life!

Would it be nice if we have $1,000 a week for the rest of our lives? Ugh, how I wish I have the same fate as Emad Aljamer, a 42-year-old guy of Jacksonville. He won the Florida Lottery at the Jacksonville District Office. He then decided to claim all the prizes in a staggering $930,000.
I do not really pay a bet in lotteries because I believe that I will never win haha! I know someone who won PHP100,000 but after a week, she loses it all to gambling. It is really in our hands-on how we manage our money. Even if we win $1M but we do not know how to manage it, we will still be poor for the rest of our lives.
5) The lawyers of West Virginia presented the 15-week abortion ban
The lawyers introduce the bill that you cannot do abortion beyond 15 weeks. This is excepted when the life of the mother is in danger or has a pregancy complications.
Do you believe in this bill? For me, it is okay to have an abortion if it is really really risky. We do not like to harm others just because we need to keep the baby. Of course, it is a hard decision but a decision is to be made.
Final Thoughts
I find the news this week very interesting, especially Sara Duterte's campaign about military service. The Philippines is an island and so it is hard to defend when there is a threat to the country. The news I like the most is the news about the dog who returned home and survived the harsh weather. Like I said, dogs are very smart.

You really are good in providing informations like this sis. Military training hmm? Okay lang naman pero gawinh mandatory? I don't think so, baka maging sanhi pa yan ng pagrerebelde ng iba. Ewan hahaah. Tsaka ang amazing nung dog ah. Akala ko sa dagat lang yung pumutok na volcano, may naging biktima pala yun :(
