Can I Borrow Money?
They said that money is the root of all evil. I said it is not true. The love of money is the root of all evil. If you love money that much that is already affecting you and your surrounding, there is wrong with you.
Yeah, money is important. Actually, one of my goals in life is to have financial freedom. I bet almost everyone's goal.
In this article, I will be sharing something that happened yesterday involving money, specifically borrowing money.
Thank you, sponsors! Special mention to @Khairro for being a new sponsor! Woohoo!
So, yesterday, a very good friend of mine sent me a message. Our friendship is over a decade already. We communicate the most than the rest of my friends from that circle. The last time I saw her personally was five years ago. I did not notice right away because I was busy. I opened it and it is a long message.
Verbatim
Che: Jiji!
Me: Yo, Che!
Che: Sup, Ji. I am so shy but I got no choice already, huhu. I am currently here in Baguio. Now, the problem is I forgot my (credit) card in Manila. I also forgot my password online. I need cash now because I am short. I have to process something here in Baguio, that is why. Is it okay if I borrow money? I will pay once I get back to Manila.
Me: Okay, how much? Can I send it via Gcash?
Che: Is it okay if I will borrow PHP 3,000 (USD 60)? I will really send you back the money once I get to Manila. I am processing papers because I will be working in New Zealand. Of course, I will visit you before I go.
Me: You are going away? :( I hope to see you before you go. Kindly make a request via Gcash.
Che: Yeah, maybe next year. Here, I sent the request already.
Me: Done. Kindly check the money received. Please let's meet up before you go. Let's do a road trip again. Ahhh, I will miss you for sure.
And the convo goes on...
I have trauma in lending money because some of my friends before, and whom I thought were my friends, did not pay me back. I mean, yeah, friends are important, but you promised to pay me back. I do not do magic to have money. It is hard-earned. That is when I got toughened up in lending money. I did not lend money unless I really trust you and our friendship is tested already.
So, peeps, be careful to who you will lend your money. There are people who will pretend just to suck the money out of you. If you have a gut feeling that he or she is scamming or hustling you, better tell that you can't lend money right now.
Che is the kind of friend that I really trusted. She is my anime buddy, my kalokohan duo, my craft sidekick, and my driver (sometimes, haha). We do most of the school props together because she got those crafting skills. She introduces me to boyish stuff such as skating, haha! Now I can't skate because my 50-year-old back kennat do it no more, hahaha!
She is an engineer and I admire her for being the best version of herself today!
That is it for this article. I will see you at the next one!

i thought you were the one needing the money when you mentioned it the other day? or was it yesterday madam? haahaha, but yeah i had an experience about this, a friend who borrows, says they’ll pay by that month and then it took her 2 years to pay me, even though it was only 1k, there was a time i needed the money, but she keeps on lying and then seeing her my day going here and there, drinking, like meh, lies .. she wasn’t a best friend at all and realizing back then, i was only used and when she finally paid me, i never bothered to go to whatever invitations she tells me, glad it happened though, made me realize who was a true friend during those down times.
