One week ago, I wrote about what are the benefits when you cry and some reflections and realizations about it. If you haven’t read that article then you can check it through this link 👇

Then, one of the comment in that article said that because of so many benefits that we can gain in crying he then likes to just cry and cry. It was actually my newest virtual friend @Leymar012201 who commented it.
Hey there @Leymar012201, with your comment I then able to think an idea on what to write. Hehe Thanks to you.
In that said article, I highlighted there the benefits when we cry. But of course, I also highlighted there that when we cry let’s make sure to get up and then keep moving forward and never let the tears drowned us.
We all knew that life is full of positivity and at the same time negativity. Positive and negative are always present in our life. Right? Because, not all the time we felt happy, not all the time were on top, not all the time were lucky since life is a like a wheel of fortune when we experienced all the positivity or the happiness, the contentment in life before all of that we knew we’ve also experienced the negativities or the downfalls in life. Just like in our ecosystem, to make it balance positive and negative structures must be present in the system because if not there will be an imbalance in our ecosystem and that is not already good.
Same as in crying, if it brought a lot of benefits or advantages then expect also that it has disadvantages that is also not good for us.
When I again searched it’s disadvantages I bumped again into the Medical News Today Website which Jenny Fletcher wrote an article about “Causes of headaches after crying.”
You may checked her full article here.
So, I’m just gonna highlights some important details in Jenny Fletcher’s article.
Headaches
So, why headaches? Why is it after crying we felt headaches?
Based on my experienced before, when there was a time that I really cried a lot and cried hardly then after my crying I really felt my heads aching.
Well, in the said article of Jenny Fletcher she discusses why we experienced headaches after crying.
It is said that, crying and the type of headaches it can cause are the body’s response to sadness and sadness triggers our stress which cause the body to release hormones such as cortisol.
What is cortisol by the way?
Cortisol is a naturally-occurring steroid hormone that plays a key role in the body's stress response (Scott, 2021) Source
The said hormones stimulates neurotransmitter to the brain which causes the physical reactions like crying, headaches and runny noses.
In the article of Jenny Fletcher again, she states also the three types of headaches that may triggered when crying hardly.
Tension headaches
Tension headaches occur when muscles in the head tighten. They can also cause some pain and discomfort in the neck and shoulders, as these muscles may tighten as well. (This again taken in the same article.)
Sinus headaches
Since the eyes, nose, ears and throat are connected internally. Therefore, when tears comes out from the eyes it tend to back the sinuses. If tears and mucus build up, they can cause pressure. A sinus headache occurs as a result of this pressure. (This again taken in the same article.)
Have you experienced this one?
Then last is Migraine headaches
Does anyone here experienced migraine headaches?
Well, this kind of headaches also can be triggered when we cried hardly.
It is said that migraine headaches were very intense, pounding headaches. These usually occurs on one side of the head. A person who had this type of headaches may also experienced vomiting, nausea, light and sound sensitivity. (Again taken from the same article.)

Final Thoughts
One more time, as what I’ve said if something gives a lot of benefits in us it also had it’s negative effects towards us. Just like when we are crying.
If crying has beneficial effects in our health especially in our emotional state then it also had bad effects to us if we were already crying hard and been repeated it many times. That way, it will not already benefits our health. Because, I’ve mentioned above it’s negative effects to us. So, to avoid such mentioned headaches then we must or should also avoid crying hardly.
It’s okay to cry but make sure to also knows it’s limits.
