FOODS, it one of primary needs of living. It's difficult for us to survive without this. We even worked because of this need. We even felt weak when there's no food to eat. When our stomach is empty and when were hungry and had nothing food to grab. That is why, FOOD is one of the primary needs for us to survive.
In this article, I'm going to share the usual foods we eat and was served on our table. Expect that it's not like the foods you've seen on a fancy restaurant it's just food made at home and with love because all was cooked by my partner. Because his the one whose cooking between us. I must say, the foods we usually had are the foods that we can only afford for now. My partner once said, he likes or we liked eating and trying those fancy and pricey foods but since we can't afford that we will just consumed first those foods that are affordable for us at this time. Maybe one day, those fancy foods were just a click of a finger to us.
Okay, so I'm now going to share our usual food/viands.
Steamed fish with eggplant or in tagalog term "pinaksiw na isda na may talong"
This food was one of our favorite and we always cooked this one. My partner does the cooking by the way. Last week, this viand was usually served on our table because when I bought a fish, I bought 1 kilo and the half kilo of eggplant and we cannot consumed it once. We usually have this served in three meals. See, it's also our way of saving since we still don't have enough budget for now.
I liked it. I liked how it taste it's sour especially the eggplant I liked it's after taste. That's why were already good once we have this as our viand.
Steamed Okra or lady's fingers
This one is my favorite. I'm already satisfied with my meal on this as my viand. I just dipped this "okra" on a vinegar with soy sauce or just dipped it on a "bagoong". It's a tagalog term, I don't know it's English term.
I just show a picture of a "bagoong".
Chicken Adobo
This viand is one of my son's favorite. Actually, in the picture it's Visayan Chicken Adobo which was the best in taste for me rather than those broiler chicken.
Escabetche
It's actually a fish. A fried fish and just make something like a sweet and sour sauce for it and put some veggies like carrots.
Actually, any fish can do for an escabetche. For me, it's much better if it's a big fish like the yellow fins.
Steamed eggplant with bagoong
The best for me. This viand was just so simple but for us it can definitely solved our cravings and for sure a lot of rice can be contained and my diet ruined as well. (As if naman, na nag diet Lol)
Who also tried this kind viand here? If you haven't tried this, then you may try it it ap yum yum.
Fried Dried Fish
Dried fish. The best appetizer ever for a simple living. Mostly, we have this fried dried fish in our meal especially morning or breakfast. We called this "buwad" in our term. When we had this, for a cup of rice isn't enough.
Ensaladang Guso
Ensaladang Guso or Kinilaw na Guso.
Guso is a native seaweed and it's also popular here in my country Philippines.
There was this time that there a vendor who roam around our area to sell this said guso. Since, it's not usual and not always seen or just had rare vendors who sell this food. So, I then without any hesitation bought the said seaweeds since were also craving for it.
So, what my partner did. He just put a boiled water on it in just a minute then put it on a plate with vinegar, onions, ginger and tomatoes. Then, that's it. Good for eating already.
Ginisang upo with spicy sardines
When we wanted also to have veggies on the table. Then we had this one. UPO, in English term as I've searched it on google it "bottle gourd". It's also a very tasty viand were one of the solutions to craving. Simple, affordable yet yummy.
That was it everyone. Our usual viands/foods in our every meal. It's just a simple foods but it's all helped eased our hunger and cravings. What's matter is, whatever food it is still it's giving us the contentment.
How about you? What your usual foods every meal?
