How often do you treat yourself? I guess it's less than you deprive yourself of getting what you really want. Isn't it?
Adulting is cruel as it seems like we are living in a world with limited space and only the needs are taken into account and put on top priority. But we can't just work and work forever. Oftentimes, we need to reward ourselves for the effort we exerted without breaking the support we give to our loved ones.
We don't need to be extravagant in rewarding ourselves. A simple meal is even enough reward.
Sunday is my only day of unwinding along with other special public holidays. Working sux times a week for more than 10 hours per day is truly exhausting. So I really need a break and some self-treat once in a while. And I believe that I deserve this.
Oftentimes, when I do this, I would set aside my food intolerances and I'll just ready myself for the consequences. That's how I endure my guilty pleasures.
It's been a while since I treated myself to yummy food, and I am somehow fed up eating the same Chinese food each day. So last Sunday, I went to an Italian restaurant and ordered a complete set of food, a veggie salad, some protein and carbs, and a dessert.
And this was the best part of the meal, something I am depriving myself of eating, and one of my guilty pleasures. It isn't a cupcake, but a chocolate ice cream cupcake.
At the end of my meal, I paid HK$66 (around US$9) or almost Php 500. I didn't care about the amount. I just enjoyed my meal. Besides, I missed eating veggie salad and sweets.
After my lunch, I went to my favorite park nearby where I relaxed and stayed the whole afternoon until night.
I don't need any luxurious things or food just to enjoy my day. A simple green tea is enough beside me.
I owned the whole pavilion that day and there was no one but only me staying in it. It gave me chance to do anything and unwind in that place.
The beautiful pond next to it was relaxing along with the chirping of birds and sounds of the water stream.
I wouldn't get bored taking photos of beautiful spots in this park and I wouldn't stop sharing them online over and over again.
The place is full of history and it seems like you'll be diverted to another era while walking along its corridors.
Those reflections are calming and captivating.
And different pavilions are worth capturing.
You wouldn't get tired walking around this park, you'll be relaxed instead. That's how I treat myself. Food and beautiful scenery are enough before I went back to reality again.
There's nothing wrong with treating ourselves sometimes, we deserve it. We also need to take a break from this toxic world once in a while.
That's how my Sunday went. Happy new week everyone.
(This post is kind've late, was supposed to be posted yesterday, but I decided to post the other one, lol. So pardon me)
