Let me start this post with a series of questions. If you want to you can write down your answers on a piece of paper and then mail your answers to Santa's Workshop, Nowhere Street, the North Pole.

Ok, seriously, here are the questions.

  1. What time do you wake up?

  2. What's the first thing that you do after waking up?

  3. How many glasses of water do you drink every day?

  4. Do you take a nap in the afternoon?

  5. How much time do you spend watching TV, Netflix, and/or movies every day?

  6. Do you exercise? How often?

  7. How often do you write an article? Everyday? Every other day? Three times a week?

  8. Do you write your goals?

  9. Do you read your written goals?

  10. What time do you go to sleep?

Greetings, my wonderful readers and friends. Our minds are like computers. They can be programmed and reprogrammed. However, unlike computer programs or mobile applications, our minds cannot be reprogrammed as easily as by modifying the code, uploading it, and running it at the press of a button or a few keys.

To reprogram our minds, it has to undergo the process of "learning". This goes the same for our whole body.

Just like "Chappie" in this movie...

But, this also shows that we should be careful with what we learn.

Existing Program

If can accurately answer any of the questions above. It means that you have "programmed" yourself to do such every day. Like waking up at the same time every day. Or drinking more or less the same amount of water each day.

What you do and do not do every day is the outcome of your "programming". Simply put, your habits, actions, and reactions to certain inputs are programmed to your subconscious mind. These are your old or existing program.

How did it happen? Partly, it's because of how you were brought up, your environment, and what you repeatedly do as you were growing up.

That's how you were "programmed." That's the existing program in you.

Need An Upgrade?

We upgrade the apps on our phones, computers, and other devices from time to time, right? However, have you ever thought of upgrading yourself?

To upgrade an app means modifying and improving that app. Making it more efficient.

Same thing with our selves.

We can do the same thing over and over again and expect a different result each time.

If you want to improve your life, if you want to be better at what you do, you may need to "reprogram " yourself.

Replace Bad Habits with Good Ones

First, you may need to "unlearn" things that are not productive. This means, getting rid of bad habits. Cut down time-wasting activities like binge-watching, or playing mobile games for hours. Or getting rid of your unhealthy eating habit.

Instead of drinking four bottles of sodas a day, why not drink at least eight glasses of water instead.

Do you think you need to reprogram yourself?

Action Plan

Here's what you should do.

Assess yourself.

  • Spend some time thinking about what you need to improve on yourself. You can ask a number of questions similar to the ones I asked above.

  • Think of the things that you do or your characteristics that hinder you from improving that part of yourself. (Getting rid of bad habits)

  • What do you need to do to stop your bad habits.

  • Sometimes, the way to stop bad habits is to create good ones. Think what do your need to do? Like, exercise every morning, read a book at least 15 minutes a day? etc...

  • List them down, create a "program" for your daily activities. Like

    • Wake up at 5 AM.

    • Pray/ meditate for 5 minutes

    • Exercise for 15 minutes

    • Start writing.
You don't to cram every minute of your day with activities though. Give yourself some slack especially if you are just starting.

  • Keep in mind, that following your program is not easy, especially in the early stage. I am still struggling at writing at 5 AM. But don't stop. You may need to exert extra effort in the beginning.

  • Adjust your plan if needed. Just like in programming, programmers make mistakes. What they do is edit the code again until they get it right. So, make some adjustments and try again.

Closing Thoughts.

Reprogramming yourself is replacing bad habits with good ones to be more productive. It takes time, dedication, and lots of effort to do so. The result will depend on how dedicated and patient you are.

Live a prosperous life.

Yeah we really need to reprogram or fixed some habbits that we are doing in our life especially the bad ones. As for me I really need to change my sleeping habbits because I always tend to sleep so late and sometimes I just spent a little hours of sleeping at all. I also need to change my bad habbit of delaying things up because I always try to look for an excuse to do something later.
