Weather is that natural phenomenon that occurs at the atmospheric level and is characterized by a conjunction of numerous elements such as temperature, humidity, pressure, rain, wind and others. In fact, there are those who compare winter with depression, since it has always been a constant; therefore, we can consider the fact that lovers of cold and rain are the "rare ones". Lovers of deep winter days might be imagined as unsociable. However, there are no scientific results on the association between climate and personality. We can say, that loving cold and rain is not a rarity, it is simply an uncommon preference. We associate the weather with experiences and that is where our preferences for warmth or cold emerge.

On the other hand, it is said that heat attracts violence. It is not clear what the real reason is for this relationship between the two. There are probably several. When it is cold, people are less likely to go out and engage in social interactions on the streets.  What is certain is that, heat increases thirst and we know that too much alcohol can fuel violence. Unpleasant conditions increase discomfort and irritability. Heat makes us more excited and more likely to act out. However, the relationship between temperature and the tendency to violence is not a simple straight line, but what we call curvilinear. Generally, gloomy weather lowers mood, which helps us concentrate and memory is better on cloudy and rainy days than on sunny days.

When the cold comes, it's not that we look forward to being indoors, but we know it can be a pleasurable activity, just like being outdoors, but controlling my temperature with layers of clothing and crowds. Often, lovers of cold and rain are also lovers of gray and melancholy landscapes, of cold sunshine that warms but doesn't burn, of savoring burning coffee in contrast to the cold. We are all aware that the weather influences our mood. In fact, most of us are affected in some way by the arrival of hot or rainy days, sunny days or gray days. Difficulties related to bad weather can cultivate empathy in people. Even at its most extreme, on no occasion more than when major catastrophes occur can one observe the extent to which the spirit of solidarity and community is ingrained in people. Although it may seem that disasters bring out the worst in people and trigger unbridled selfishness and brutal competition for survival, the reality is quite different, as people who cope with crises are actually very altruistic and help each other.

Finally, if you're having a good day, the bad weather probably won't affect you too much. But if you feel bad as soon as you wake up, a dreary, cold day could easily make your mood go from bad to worse. We understand weather as a natural phenomenon that occurs at the atmospheric level and is characterized by a conjunction of numerous elements such as temperature, humidity, pressure, rain, wind and others.

We can also mention that the consequences of climate change now include, among others, intense droughts, water shortages, severe fires, rising sea levels, floods, melting of the poles, catastrophic storms and decreased biodiversity. In addition, health is and will be affected by climate change through direct impacts (heat waves, droughts, severe storms and sea level rise) and indirect impacts (respiratory and vector-borne diseases, food and water insecurity, malnutrition and displacement.

Have you ever been affected by the weather?
