You Don’t Need To Be A Genius to Succeed
Success is not a mystery - you don’t need to be a genius, or have an MBA or even be particularly smart. This is the simple message that the pressure of school, society and the media teaches us to believe. It is also the opposite of what we can learn from those around us. From the moment we are born, we are told that we have to work hard and then, only if we do so, will success be within our grasp. If it doesn’t come as quickly as we think it should, then we have to try harder.
Just look at New Year’s resolutions. The majority of people who make them never follow them through. And yet, in reality, success is more accessible than this. In fact, if you learn the lessons school has tried to hide from you, it’s easy.
Success is not a mystery. It’s the simple result of loving what you do, working hard, and following through. It’s the result of being honest with yourself and others, of striving to do your best, and doing it again the next day. It’s a reflection of being willing to risk failure in order to achieve your dreams. It’s standing up for yourself and not selling out just to make a buck. Success doesn’t happen overnight; it takes a lot of hard work and dedication in order to get there. However, with proper motivation, you’ll eventually be able to achieve everything that you want.
Although success doesn’t come without hard work, you don’t have to be a genius or have an extraordinary talent to achieve it. You just have to make the commitment to work hard, learn from those around you, and focus on what really matters.
Some people think being successful requires a high level of education, a genius level IQ, an indomitable work ethic and more than a little luck. In truth many of the world’s most successful people never finished even high school. They’re entrepreneurs who’ve seen opportunities and pursued them through pluck, perseverance and hard work. If you have a passion for something great just do it. Every successful person started out with nothing, so anyone can be successful.
You don’t have to be a genius, but you do have to work hard.
While working hard is important, it also helps to know what you’re doing — so read, learn, and practice. Subconsciously, we set up a barrier for our success, like grading ourselves on effort. We think “I have to be smart”, or “I have to be really good”, or “I have to spend money”. You can’t do everything yourself and you can’t be good at everything. You need people you trust on your team. You need to discover their strengths, and delegate work accordingly. You need to discover your weaknesses also.
You don’t need to be smart to succeed, you just need the following traits: Persistence, passion, patience, hard work and a healthy dose of optimism. Our brains aren’t hard-wired for success. The most successful people come from a variety of backgrounds. They’re not the smartest or the most talented people in their field. In fact, many of them are average. They didn’t have the most supportive parents or teachers. They’re not especially driven or hard-working (at least not compared to their peers). But they have a hidden advantage that allows them to succeed where others fail. They have the right habits.
The secret of success is not doing extraordinary things that others find impossible. It’s doing ordinary things extraordinarily well. Successful people don't procrastinate on that which is important.
Finally, You don’t need to be smart to succeed. You just need to work hard and believe in yourself.
You don’t need to be a genius to get into college. You just need to be willing to put in the time and effort to reach your goals.
You don’t need to have an impressive resume when you apply for jobs. You just need to show up with passion for what you do.
You don’t need to come from a wealthy family to become financially independent. You just need to work hard, invest wisely and live frugally.
You don’t need to have a perfect credit score and a picture-perfect life to get a loan. You just need to be willing to show that you deserve it, regardless of how much money you make or how big your debt is.
