"It ain't easy, so lower down your expectation"
Being an OFW(Overseas Foreign Worker) is isn't easy. Working in a foreign country needs a lot of adjustments, courage and sacrifices as well, and if you weren't brave enough, surely you're going to live your life in hell.
Beforehand it also takes a lot of courage to leave your own family, and taking some risk outside your country is quite difficult and scary. Your happiness, your safety and even your dreams are currently at stake, and it was because your taking a huge risk for the unseen future.
However some people don't understand the sacrifices and difficulties of an OFW, as all they care was the magic word Dollar and the branded gifts they could ever get from the person.
I've been there and so I know.
Life abroad is isn't easy, and the work is not an easy peasy. Yet the person's is also not pooping and picking up money. But the way how people think are funny, and even far from the reality, as they don't know that sometimes the treatment is also less of humanity.
Perhaps some people also don't understand, and when you said you don't have, they won't believe and will gonna hate you instead! Throw you some accusations like your selfish and arrogant as for them you already forgotten your old way to poverty . Because they stick to the fact that your earning dollar's and so why your declining their favour?
It ain't easy, and yet people's expectations you're earning a wealth without getting any sweat as they thought your living under heaven of Money.
What kind of perspectives is that?
The worst part is the undeniable high expectations from the OFW's own family as well. They sometimes also forgot all your sacrifices, and only cares about the money, the branded gifts, and their favourite pairs that you can give and share. Never thought about your happiness and freedom.
Sometimes it is the painful facts about OFW's Diary. Nobody knows the real story behind their smile. Nobody cares the real story behind those photos. But everyone has almost have the same expectations that actually far from the reality.
Somehow when you tried to explain your side, people's response is quite unbelievable and crazy. Lol.
They would say's, how they won't expect that way if they keep on seeing the person keeps posting a photo of her/him eating in a fancy restaurant? If they see from the photo that the person is having a great day with their friends outside while laughing and enjoying the day.
My God! So what they wanted to see? Seeing the person eating in the street alone and crying just to justify that she/he is also struggling abroad? Lol. That's funny!🤣 Can't the person also treat her/his self for sometime? He/she deserves it as well.
Anyway, I came to this topic because of my partner's current situation. I really felt so worried about him, because they keep on working overtime and yet they don't have a proper rest and don't have enough food to eat. He already lose some weight because of that. Actually they already asked their boss to send them back home, as the three of them already felt so tired with the way their boss treat them. Inside their company, only the three of them are Filipino's and the rest are Egyptians.
They don't have permanent place to stay too, as the company don't have accomodation for their newly hired workers. Sometimes their boss let them stay inside the hotel, and sometimes their boss send them to the garage as it don't like to pay for their rent. I really feel so sorry for them. And this is the kind of situation in abroad that people don't know, and sometimes can't be avoided for an OFW.
Closing thoughts;
To those who have family members working abroad, please spend their money wisely and take some time to ask about their daily life, about their work and about their current situation, don't forget to show some care, because their life abroad is hard and yet it is full of toxicity, but they are just hiding it through their smile as they don't wanna give you some worries.
Risking some luck abroad is not easy. Sometimes you failes, sometimes you have your luck, and things will go well in your side, but sometimes it is also so challenging and so tiring.
Anyway, this is all for today and I'm sorry for this nonsensical rant's again. But thank you for dropping by.
