Raise your hand if you read my last article, I will be giving a Christmas gift to those who read it? Hmmm, so you didn't read it? Don't stress yourself, click this link to do so now cos if you do, that's when you will be able to understand what I am about to write about. Well, I know budgeting is nothing new to everyone but it's good we do a reminder of some things sometimes so we won't forever forget it.

If you recall in my last article, I said it was on the radio I heard the man saying that many do borrow to spend on Christmas while some spend to flaunt the lifestyle that they are not up to and at the end of the day, they overspend and couldn't pay up their debts on time because they refuse to make a plan towards their lavish spending. It was on that same programme the anchor of the programme advised the majority listening to them like I was doing that day that we should set a limit to the budgeted money that we plan to spend on Christmas and new year.

What do I mean by this? I will try as much as possible to be simple and realistic in answering this. I can boldly tell you that expenses that you never budgeted for during this festive period will keep coming in and I am sure we all can relate to it. It is that period your kid's will yu that they want to buy this because their friends are buying it, you don't have a choice but to buy it for them because you won't like to be called wicked mom or dad. It is that time your wife will remember that her friend told her about the latest clothes that are in vogue and will like to buy them too for Christmas and new year. It is during that period that you the husband will discover the latest bar that you and your friends can go to, to have fun and have some nice drinks altogether.

All these will happen even though you have budgeted your plan on how you will spend your money, you can't fight it cos it is bound to happen, it's Christmas and new year, you should know what's up, hahaha. The only way out is to create a limit to your spending and follow it strictly.

"For clothes and other things these are the amount I allocated for them and I am not going to pass that amount" if this is what we tell our wife, husband and children, then they will know how to go about working towards your budget. It's not a must you spend up to the amount budgeted when spending, still go for something less if we have a better option for that. The amount left for that particular budget can cover up other things in the list of items that we want to buy.

We all know this popular saying that goes thus "cut your cloth according to your size", this phrase is what we should follow especially during Christmas and new year, this is also telling us not to spend lavishly during this period cos it will affect us greatly. The limit you set is what will allow you to keep track of the amount of money you have spent and the amount of money you can still spend, in the case of where you have gone for less and still have some money left, you can use the remaining money to attend to any unforeseen expenses that might show up without it affecting the whole budget that you have made.

I know there are a lot of enjoyment to undergo in December and the new year but we shouldn't be carried away by it all, we should standstill with the limit that we have set and you will see that it will help a lot. It is those who spend lavishly during December that allows January to look like a year in their eye but those who spend wisely with the help of the limit set to their budget that will be able to pass through the month of January without murmur or regret, it will look like every other month in their eye and not like a year.

I think with this little that I have written, I have been able to inform you well on how to celebrate and have fun in this festive period. This should serve as a guidebook for us and for this reason, hold it with your left hand so that you won't be able to use it to eat with your right hand. I appreciate your time, God will bless you greatly.

Thanks for reading and bye for now 🥰🥰🥰.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year in advance 💥💥💥💥

Well some families save towards Christmas. But if you feel you are not capable to spend just enjoy in your own little way and if we decide to spend lavishly now, we don't know how the new year will be.

I agree. But sometimes there's this thing about Christmas that you can't just help but give in to the impulsive buying since Christmas is once every year. Of course, it is wise to plan for it before time

I do not spend too much in any occasion. What I always do it I spend not on my savings but on my alloted expense wallet.

Budget the the way of minimizing to we spend. Budgeting an amount for Christmas another money shouldn’t be added to the amount we’ve budgeted it’s lose and we’re already losing to January like that. Spending wisely will help alots. Merry Christmas and happy new year in advance.

I love your article sir. We just have to spend wisely this December (festive period), limit must be set for ourselves, and we must follow it strictly, so that we won't regret & murmur we January comes.

Spot on. This is the perfect time for the article, I wish everyone can read and digest. Don't amass debts that you will struggle to pay all because of festivities. Have fun within your means. I saw a post on Twitter where a man said 100k ($200) is not enough for 'detty December'. Now some people will see it and feel pressured. Please live within your capacity, no one will help you bear any debt after the festive period.

I haven't allocated money for the expenses this year because it is better to save right now because the BCH is in dip. And we must buy first our needs than wants.

It's truly Christmas period and we all need to know the way we spend as this is not going to just stop or end this year but it will keep coming every year. When you spend more than your pocket, then you run at lost. Just this festive period, many have borrowed alot, but this is not the best. Spend the little you have and ensure to remain some

We really need to know the difference between needs and wants, in order for us to get the right track of our finances especially today that Christmas is approaching.
