Before I write on the topic, I would like to write out the Nigeria Red Cross anthem.
You can catch up more on the Red cross from one of my articles Red Cross: the strength of nations
We are the members of the NRC we shall never go astray, with the 7 principles of the IRC, direct and guide our way, humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntary service, unity, universality.
The 7 Principles of the Red cross has been recited in the anthem and these includes
Humanity
Impartiality
Neutrality
Independence
Voluntary service
Unity
Universality
My friend here @Okeh will understand more because this user is also a member of the Red cross. The 7 principle is the guiding rules that help us uphold our norms and value.
Thanks to my sponsors. And back to the full gist.
Humanity
According to Merriam Webster dictionary, it defines humanity as compassionate, sympathetic, or generous behavior or disposition : the quality or state of being humane. A Red cross officer must possess the quality of humanity, a person with a wicked heart can't be a Red Cross member, even when a murderer is injured and needs the assistance of red cross personnel, you will have to put all feelings aside and assist such person even if the person has done you harm before, that is what it takes to be a red cross officer. You just have to care for humans, because you're a human too.
Impartiality
Not..partial or biased : treating or affecting all equally. A Red cross officer must never be biased, or impartial, when it comes to attending to causality, you have to treat the most affected and do the first thing first, protect yourself too so you don't turn out to be like those you want to save. As a Red cross officer, you don't look at skin color, tribe, age, sex e.t.c. you just have to do your job and save the one with the top priorities.
Neutrality
the quality or state of being neutral
especially : refusal to take part in a war between other powers
Red cross is neutral, they don't side when it comes to war, they are just there u help the injured one, just like the war the world is focusing on now, Russia and Ukraine, Red cross would never pick a side to support, they won't bother themselves with who's right or wrong, in, stead they pray that there should be any War.
Independence
A Red Cross must be ready to be independent, in a situation where there is a car accident and there is only one Red cross officer on the field, the officer must be ready to improvise and attend to all the injured people before help comes, he must be ready to help all the people there without help and before help come. That is what it means to be independent as a Red Cross personnel.
Voluntary service
The title already tells us what it means, in the Red cross, people aren't forced force to join the organization, all the working personnel joined voluntarily. Anyone can be a member so long you have the zeal to help people, you can always join and make a change in this world.
Unity
Unity is one of the factors that has to keep all Red cross members all over the world, the respect given to a Red cross office in his country will be the same respect given to him when he goes to another country for official Red cross business, we are united, we are one all over the world. It doesn't matter the state, country, tribe, skin color, language e.t.c. Together we are ONE.
Universality
One important principle is that Red cross is universal, that is, all over the world, that's the aim of Red Cross, to be all over the world and be there when help is needed. The are around you if you look well, they are in your school, they are in your surrounding.
I'm proud to be a member of the Nigeria Red Cross. I hope you're able to learn one or two things from the article about Red Cross. Have a nice day. More good vibe this month. You can catch up on the first article about Red Cross via the link above.
