Election: Tribal Sentimental
An election is a process where people come together in other to choose a leader that would guide the affairs of the community, state, or nation.
This process will soon be held in my country as the current president's tenure is about to end, currently, many people from the different political parties have emerged intending to run for the post of president. It would surprise you that in some political parties, more than 2 people came up aspiring for the post of the president but the party can only support one person, that is why they have the primary election within the party first.
We operate the multi-political party system in my country, which means we can have more than 10 different people from different parties contesting for the post of president or governor. With this in mind, different people from different parties have risen to contest for the post of the president in the coming election.
Two major political parties are known throughout the country, this party includes The people's Democratic Party(PDP) and the All Progressive Congress (APC) but with all the event that has happened in the recent years since the current president emerged, people have lost faith in the government and are ready to vote for the person they feel they wanted. What actually brought us into this mess at first?
What causes the first problem?
There are better candidates that we know can lead this country to a better place but people are just Tribal sentimental, they want someone from their tribe to be the leader of the country. What does it matter if the leader is from any tribe or culture, what we want is a leader, someone competent enough to rule, not someone from either the Yoruba, Igbo, or Hausa clan. This has been the problem of Nigerians from the start, they forget the aim of the election and are blinded by Nepotism.
Present time!
Like I said before, the current presidential tenure hasn't been fair to the public, during his tenure, we had hyperinflation even before the war between Russian and Ukrainian, and there was a worldwide protest that started in the country #ENDSARS
There was mass killing in different parts of the country and tribal war, if not contained, it might turn into a civil war or terrorist attack without any presidential speech.
All these factors will be considered before anyone cast their vote in 2023, yet we still have those that would never vote before they believe their vote doesn't count, these sets of people are people I dislike the most, why would you register to vote and at the end you would not vote then later come out to say "My vote won't count if I vote, and we all know they would rig the election"
Now let me tell you how rigging works, if we have 10million people who register in a location for voting when the time of the election comes then only 5million people vote, you see that the remaining 5million, is the vote they use for rigging election, Dear Nigerians, if you don't go out to vote, and you think your vote doesn't count, think again because you are still voting but not for the person you want.
Tribal sentimental people
We have three major traditional groups in Nigeria which are the Yoruba, Igbo, and Hausa. Of all the presidential candidates for this forthcoming election, 3 of them stand out, Tinubu, Atiku, and Peter. These three sets of people come from one of these three major traditional groups, and that's where we have the tribal sentimental people coming in, these set of people don't care who actually set on the presidential seat and make decisions that won't only affect their life but the life of their children and grandchild, all they care about is that the person leading the country is from their tribe, if we need a good leader, we need to wash off that kind of mindset and purge those kind of people out of the decision making. Who cares what tribe the president is from, we don't need a tribal person, we need a leader that would stand for the people, that can think of our future, that would act as a father to the people in the country, an accountable leader, a strong leader, a leader with the good of the people in his heart, that the kind of leader we need, why care what tribe he comes from. Now we need to seat down and have a rethink.

I have never been a fan of politics thanks to the corruption that my country has in the government, it cut any kind of wing to one day emerge victorious from such a situation
