Does punctuality still matter?
Most of the people are now working online and students are attending their classes online, meetings are done online too. The world has changed in just a blink of an eye. We used to wake up at least two hours earlier to prepare ourselves when you going to work. Parents wake up their kids at least an hour earlier so kids can still have their breakfast before leaving their homes.
But since this habit has changed because of the pandemic, are people still doing their best to be punctual? Do they still prepare early just to be presentable and on time at work? Do people still value the importance of being on time?
Or is it because everything is done online now that people forget the value of time? Do note that punctuality is still one of the qualities that employers check before they hire someone. Being punctual says a lot about a person. It conveys that you are committed, dependable, and organized. It shows how you respect and value everyone's time including yours.

Even if you are punctual or not, I think it is still best to remind ourselves why is it important to be punctual. Here are the five important reasons that hopefully will remind you why it is important to be punctual and that it is still one of the skills that are worth aiming for
Punctuality shows how dependable you are.
Being on time or being punctual gives the impression that you are committed and involve in every task that is given to you. It will also give the impression that your co-worker or your colleagues can trust you with an important task and that no matter what happens you will make sure to submit the task on time and that missing the deadline is not in your vocabulary.
Punctuality mirrors that you are organized.
Being punctual also reflects that you are an organized person. That you prepare everything beforehand that's why you are on time. Did you know that being late every time is just like shouting to the whole world how disorganized you are? It also shouts how uncommitted you are. Being punctual shows that what you are doing is important to you, that is why you try to meet all the demands of your work ahead of time.
Punctuality convey respect
Being on time means you are respecting other people's time as well as your own time.
Everyone knows how annoying it is dealing with a person who is habitually late especially if you are working as a team because the whole team's productivity is affected just because of one person who doesn't respect the time of other people who are working hard just to meet their deadline. No matter how nice you are as a person but if you have a habit of being late, your teammate will get irritated because their work flow is hampered. Other people may think you are not reliable just because of your habit of being late. Being consistent in punctuality gives you an edge for it reflects how serious you are and how dependable you are whether at work or at school. Let's practice being on time and respect other people's time as well as your own time.
Punctuality also means professionalism
Professionalism and punctuality goes hand in hand and being professional speaks for your morals or your integrity.
Setting a meeting with someone is just like promising someone that you will be there on time. It's a mutual agreement that both of you will be there on the said time that you both agreed. This is a simple demonstration of how you handle promises and promises means that someone trust you.
Try to observe the big bosses in your office, they usually arrive earlier than all of their employees, they are are always on time during meetings that is because they are professionals who doesn't want to be caught unprepared for everything.
Punctuality means valuing oneself.
Punctuality is not only about respecting the people around you but also valuing and respecting your own time.
While it may appear that you value other people's time by being on time it also shows that you yourself value the importance of punctuality. It means that you don't want to stress yourself and that time is too precious to be wasted. It establishes the fact that you are an organized person and that you carefully manage your time by doing the task or attending to other commitments without being late. And because you project yourself to be punctual you also expect the others to reciprocate the same respect that you are giving them.
If I'm going to it summarize it, punctuality is vital on ones road to success. It is one trait that one should always have in order to achieve our goals. It is one trait that let you earn the trust and respect of the people around you and you inspire them as well to do the same. So, if you are going to ask me it being punctual still matters now a days, my answer is big big YES.

So good to read that someone young still knows how to value time when so many of the youth don't care and seem to think they have all the time in the world.
