Shopee Finds: Snacks and Food Edition

Welcome to another episode of #ShopeeFinds.

Shopee Payday sale last October 30 just ended. Did you check out all of the items you have added to your cart? Or you were able to resist the temptation of spending your hard-earned money?

As for me, I took advantage of the concluded sale because the online shop offered free shipping and cashback vouchers again so I couldn't help but to top up my ShopeePay wallet.

The day before the sale, I converted $10 worth of Bitcoin Cash that is available in my coins.ph wallet, which I use for spending purposes and load allowance. The BCH I have in that wallet came from a portion of my earnings on this platform so this spending is like a reward to myself for working hard in this crypto-verse.

In my previous Shopee Finds articles, all of the items I usually bought were things such as school supplies, bags, shoes, household needs, and clothes. This time, I opted not to purchase any material things that I don't really need. That being said, I checked out the snacks and food that have been in my cart for a while now.

I am not sure if I was able to save money by buying them online. Nevertheless, these are the snacks I found in Shopee.

1. Popcorn Kernels and Flavorings

I have been craving popcorn for a while now, especially when I'm watching movies on my phone. I just miss the feeling that I'm watching in a cinema so I searched for popcorn kernels. I also added barbeque and cheese powders for the flavoring. I thought the cost of the kernels is already cheap for 1 kilogram worth 60 pesos ($1.20) only, and the powders for 53 pesos ($1.05) only.

2. Korean Snacks

Watching Korean dramas influenced me to crave these snacks too. Originally, I just wanted to buy the tteokbokki rice cake set because I'm really curious about how it tastes. Although there are also restaurants that offer that food here in our place, I just don't feel like ordering whenever I have the chance. So this time, I already checked it out. And upon browsing the PhilKor Online Grocery Shop, I also added the Ottogi kimchi ramen and the roasted seaweed.

3. Chips and Biscuits

I wanted to order 2 pieces of Nachos because I really love nachos as snacks and dip them in Ketchup, but when I browsed the shop, I also saw the ice gem biscuits which brought back the childhood fun and memories. So instead of 2 nachos, I opted to have 1 for each item.

I actually learned about this product (Nachos) from my mama who has been buying one from her friend. I asked her before how much did she buy it and she said she paid 100 pesos ($2) for it. So I tried to search the product on Shopee and I'm surprised I could save more if I buy it online than to her friend.

4. Chocolate Drinks

Actually, these items were not in my cart before but when I browsed the Facebook group of Shopee shoppers, I saw the members posting about it, so I also visited the Shopee Supermarket. I only bought these items because of the gift or free items. But I only realized I didn't save from this purchase the following day because I paid more for the Shipping fee than if I bought the free Nutriboost products. I also added the detergent bar because I thought of also buying something for the house. Hahaha!

In total, I spent 456 pesos ($9.07) on the food and snacks that I checked out. It's a good thing I was able to use the 30% cashback vouchers to the two shops so I'm expecting 80+ Shopee coins ($1.83) as cashback which I can use again for the next Shopee monthly sale.

These products could last a week or two, and I'm sure my tummy is happy now.

Food is life and is essential for our daily lives so the money spent on these snacks is never a waste of money.
