I read on a Facebook post before that "If only he has a lot of money, some of his problems should now be solved."
I read through the comment section and many people agreed with him. Some even said that if they were rich, all of the problems they are experiencing now should be solved in an instant.
And so I thought, "is money really the solution to all the problems?"
If not all, maybe most of us have financial problems in our lives to the point that we wonder what our life would be if we were only born with a silver spoon in our mouth. Maybe, we wouldn't have to think so much about where to get money anymore for us to have something to spend for the next day.
We could probably do the things we love to do if we had enough money so that we are not forced to do the things we don't even like doing, such as doing a job that is not beneficial for our mental health.
Whether we agree or not, money plays a great role in our life and it's as if money makes the world go round.
If we don't have money, we won't be able to buy food to prepare at our table and have something to eat with the family leaving us in considerable hunger.
If we don't have money, we can't buy clothes for us to wear and have a shelter for us to live on, and a nice and comfortable bed to rest on.
If we don't have money, we won't be able to go to the places we want to visit.
If we don't have money, we won't be able to buy the things we need, and parents will have a hard time sending their children to school and having a proper education for them.
If we don't have money, we won't be able to afford to send ourselves to the hospital whenever we are sick because hospital bills are just so expensive. This is why some would rather stay at home than have a consultation with the doctor.
If we don't have money, some people will be left with no choice but to apply for loans in the banks and even to loan sharks who ask for such high interest. And if people start acquiring debts just to suffice their daily needs and have something to survive in life, that's when a bigger problem arises.
Acquiring debts is like stepping your feet into the quicksand. The moment you apply for a loan and can't pay for the money immediately, you will be applying for another loan and use the money to pay for the first debt. And you will apply for a loan again to pay for the second debt and the cycle continues until you can no longer pull yourself out of the quicksand.
If we don't have money, some would even think of doing illegal actions such as stealing other people's belongings and selling them as if they own the items they stole. Some would become snatchers and scammers just to have enough money to buy for their everyday necessities.
For people who do not have enough money to endure in this lifetime, it feels like money is the solution to all of our problems.
If we have money, some people wouldn't have to do illicit activities anymore.
If we have money, we can now pay all of our debts and not get to acquire another one anymore because we can now afford to live life without having loans.
If we have money, we can have a healthy meal every day, have a comfortable house to live in, and continue with our education without worrying about where to get money for our expenses.
But money is not always the solution.
Because even those who have huge money still experience having a lot of problems in life. They still suffer from stress, loneliness, and depression.
There are still things that money can't buy, such as having a happy family, having few but real friends whom you can always count on, and being loved by the person who accepts you for you.
Money may solve all of our financial problems but it cannot fix our emotional dilemmas. Because the only that could mend it is having a good relationship with the people around us.
For me, money is just an instrument for convenience. We don't really need that high amount of money to feel the convenience that we need. The problem is the people who don't find ways and just using the shortcuts.
I'm newbie here. Hello 😁
