Behind My Username
Guess what day it is? It's hump day meaning it's Wednesday representing the middle of the week. Let the downhill ride to the weekend get here quickly for all of us. I'm doing good today and have many things on my plate today.
I woke up early and had planned to do some delivery driving after work today. I haven't done this for awhile and have been itching to get back to it. Anyways I won't be doing this today but that's ok. Instead I have to work overtime today to off load a cargo aircraft. Another task I haven't done for awhile I miss as well. So losing the one and getting to do another offsets each other. On to my article of the day.
Today I feel comfortable sharing a little bit more about myself. I know I know this is what an introduction article is all about. At the time of my introduction I didn't share some details about me because I was uncomfortable. After reading your articles, hearing from you in the comments, and talking to some of you over in Noise I feel like I can open up a little bit more. After all I do see many of you as trusted friends. Who is Coolmidwestguy?
Well first off I've been called Sir, Cool, human Rusty and a few others. I've had a few of you ask what do I call you? If I didn't answer you it's probably because my thoughts were embedded in my reply and I forgot 🤣 Anyways it's Bob, easy name, I don't expect anyone will spell it backwards. I have no problem if you call me by my first name.
I am an introvert but I do like making conversations. I can be very serious but can be goofy or funny as well. My best quality I think is caring and helping others. I have a big heart for humanity. I'd love to see a world where everyone gets along and helps each other. I wish everyone would just put their differences aside and work together.
Depending on what zodiac/horoscope calender you look at I'm either Scorpio or Sagittarius. You tell me, the day is 22 November. I love star gazing and when I read my horoscope sometimes I choose the better of the two choices 😜
As a writer and reader
So let me tell you about my writing history. I'm completely new to content writing. Prior to coming here I only wrote because I had to. I wrote in school and for my job but that was the extent of it until now of course. There is one event worth mentioning though when I was in college.
So I was in my second year and we all had to write a short essay for a creative writing class. The essay had to be on the next holiday. The teacher mentioned 5 of us would have our articles published in a local writing pamphlet. I did give good effort as I wanted a good grade. A few weeks later I was shocked when the teacher handed me the writing pamphlet which included the essay I wrote. There you have it I have one published essay to my credit. I still have that pamphlet somewhere at home.
As far as reading goes I love it when I have spare time. I can say I've always read since I learned how to. There is nothing better than a good story. The first book I remember opening was a pop up dinosaur book. It was so cool at the time but got boring as the pop ups broke eventually. I also remember reading my first chapter book. I read the whole thing in one sitting(about 8 hours) 🤣 I subscribe to a few fishing magazines which I always enjoy because it's my favorite hobby. As far as books I like crime/mystery and science fiction. I of course like reading all of your articles😊
I actually enjoy writing now as I find it calms me. I haven't shared yet but I do suffer a bit from depression. A lot of it has to do with my current situation, being unhappily married. Just know I've felt this way for most of my 19 years of marriage. There are many more details but I'm not going there now. Reading and writing has helped a lot with my issues.
Final thoughts
There you go I feel a little better letting you in on my life some more. I'm sure most of you will accept my faults. If not I guess my follower count will decrease some 🤣
I have to thank you all I never thought coming to a writing platform would be so fun. So many great people in here. A lot of you have had a good impact on me even though you might not realize it. One person in particular is responsible for bringing me here:
