Violence against women consists of acting aggressively towards women. It includes mistreatment by the partner, as well as physical or sexual abuse, genital mutilation, psychological aggression, deprivation of liberty, among other forms of attack that can occur in the workplace, personal or educational. This type of violence arises due to the social and cultural differences that exist between men and women

On the part of the partner

This is perhaps one of the most common types of violence against women. It occurs due to a belief system where the man thinks she has the right to exercise control, dominance or possession over her partner.It occurs mostly in a place that is considered safe, such as a home.

Includes physical aggression such as blows towards females. It also includes verbal aggression, which leads to a decrease in the woman's self-esteem.

These episodes are repeated continuously, which generates feelings of anguish and stress, because at any time they can attack her. The consequences that this type of acts bring with them is the murder of the women we love by their partners.

Violation

It is a forced sexual relationship, that is, without the consent of one of the parties, which in this case is the woman. It occurs due to the macho conception that some men have, who despise women and see them as a sexual object to satisfy their needs.

Victims of rape may have feelings of guilt or revulsion and, therefore, they should be made to understand that what happened was not their responsibility. They need to seek medical attention and report the rapist. Getting pregnant or suffering from a disease from a sexual mission can be the consequences of rape.

In the same way, these women should receive psychological support, as some could fall into episodes of extreme depression, present anxiety, social isolation and even commit suicide.

The ablation of the clitoris or female sexual mutilation is a form of violence that reduces the woman to a full reproductive function, preventing her from experiencing sexual pleasure. It is done for cultural and religious reasons and not for medical reasons. In many cases, it is practiced to prevent the woman from having relations with men other than her husband or to ensure that she reaches marriage a virgin, which is why this practice is usually carried out when they are just girls. They experience severe pain and some may die due to suffering from some infections that can occur with this tendency; this without mentioning the consequent psychological trauma they experience.

This is why many families decide to intentionally cause the death of their girls. From the home there is a strong contempt for the female sex, which is why the differences between both sexes are felt; the paternal authority and on the part of the male brothers prevail over the women of the house, which leads to commit many humiliations on them. A forced marriage also falls within this type of violence.

Attacker profile

The people who attack women, in general, are usually men who live with them or who surround them, for example husbands, parents or bosses. In the case of rapists, they are men who can force themselves into houses or who go there under the pretext of doing some work inside the home such as bricklaying; It can also be a neighbor of the victim. These men are generally charming and friendly.

Women must understand that they have the right to a life free of violence and in Venezuela there are laws that protect them. The aggressor must be reported to the relevant bodies and the women must not isolate themselves, on the contrary they must seek help.

Educate children from a young age both at home and at school by teaching them where values ​​that emphasize equality between genders prevail, since violence against women is a cultural problem. It is necessary to seek psychological and legal attention before reaching more unfortunate situations.
