It really matters
My kind of work required staying online 24/7, this is why I'm a loyal friend to my work and still trying to meet up blogging here and there. Last year or let say two months ago, I do wonder why sometimes I lose interest being online and my brain become unrest and as well detached from being around friend because I want to focus on my target which I won't be able achieve many times. It has started to become my habbit and was killing me slowly.
Until I realized that body no be firewood and I'm not a robot, that's the moment my normal self started coming back to me slowly. I decided to make rest my best friend and do take a break off screen and attend to other aspect that need attention too, hence, I'm getting myself orderly as I want it. We sometimes do something that is detrimental to our health just because we want to meet up with certain goal so we forget the needful.
When we are engaged in doing a repetitive task, our brain becomes disinterested and even bored if it's done over and over again for long periods of time, this is why it is ideal for us taking a break atleast 15 minutes per hour (suggested by many expert) in order to keep our brain working as expected and enable us to do our work as best as possible.
Rest is needful, not only human need rest, even our mobile phone and everything we use in our daily life to make our life easier.
my second is phone now act funny and become handicap on everything thing else other than staying login on my freelancing platform and to receive call, it has been obsessed with my freelancing platform lol, and I'm very sure this is because I give the phone no resting time, it works every hours of the day while florelo (Auto-refresh app) is always on. This is an indication that the malfunction is due the kind of work it has been doing repeatedly without a break.
However, we human do need to take care of our self not only mentally for us to do our work better, but entails physical, emotional and social well-being as well. This is why we should by any way avoid our work to have negative impact on other element of our life, if by any any chance it has control over it, we won't be as mentally sharp and focused to do our best work and oftentimes leave some work undone.
For instance, I do work for a long time on my computer surfing the net from Fiverr read.cash and noise.cash, Facebook, Shopify, clickfunnel and so on, all days without taking a break thereby, leaving other things unchecked and it's becoming obvious that many aspect of my live are suffering. My weight increase, eyes sprain is another health issues, I feel resentment of not staying in touch with my friends and detached with family and not be able to focus to finish some work.
As a result, I come to realize that this is not going to help me because it affect my mood at work and even lead me to avoid the work altogether which negatively impact my credibility and business profitability.
Therefore, we need schedule time for ourselves so that we can be able stay off work, the food we eat and stay in good, physical shape. This will not only keep us in good physical health, but it will put us in a good mental state of mind too, where we can stay mentally focused and engaged on our work and do higher-quality work.
In conclusion, in other to accomplish ones best work and have stress-free life, one must take regular breaks away from our task or work and as well take care of other elements of our life , such as diet, exercise and social/family life, to ensure we remain in intellectually engaged and focused on our work. Failure to attend to the other elements of your life can lead to boredom or even resentment of your profession, which can harm ones productive self, credibility, reputation and profitability.
