A lot of things have been happening in the Philippines, earthquakes and natural disasters. I had a conversation with my wife about how we could prepare, just in case it hits us. She was so worried and afraid, and in my mind, I found myself thinking, “Why does she have so little faith? Why worry? God will save us.” But then, God gently corrected my arrogant heart. You see, We are not saved because we never doubt. We are not saved because we have the highest reverence. We are not saved because we feel what we should be feeling. Yes, there are times when God will test our faith, and sometimes, our faith will break. But even then, we are not saved by the strength of our faith. We are saved by the strength of our Savior. Our assurance is not built on our performance. It is grounded in the blood of the Lamb. That moment reminded me of the story of the Passover. I imagined some of them being afraid, others at peace, and some even celebrating. Maybe a few were not as faithful, and perhaps even an enemy disguised as an Israelite was there. Some didn’t feel worthy. But it wasn’t who they were or what they felt that saved them; it was the blood. We break. We doubt. We panic. But the blood? Still enough. Always enough.

Sometimes, the biggest reason we stay stuck isn’t because we lack talent— but because we never tried. You saw the job opening… but didn’t apply—kasi baka hindi ka qualified. You wanted to start a small business… but stopped yourself—kasi baka malugi. You had an idea… but never spoke up—kasi baka pagtawanan ka. But here’s the truth: You miss every single shot you don’t take. You miss every chance you talk yourself out of. You miss every door you never had the courage to knock on. Not because you failed— but because you didn’t even start. So go ahead. Apply, even if you’re scared. Start the vlog, even if it’s small. Speak, even if your voice shakes. Try the business, even if there’s no guarantee. Because while fear whispers “what if you fall?” Courage reminds you— “but what if you fly?” You don’t need to be ready. You just need to be willing. Because opportunity doesn’t wait for perfection. It responds to action.

When leaders choose not to hire enough people, it isn’t “dedication” when employees work twice as hard—it’s burnout waiting to happen. Overworking your team doesn’t make them stronger, it makes them leave. Respect the human side of work: hire wisely, resource properly, and protect your people’s well-being. Because a thriving team isn’t built on exhaustion it’s built on balance, support, and trust.

✨ Self-acceptance is the foundation of every meaningful relationship. When you truly like and cherish yourself, you attract people who value you for who you are .. not for who you’re trying to be. In a world that constantly pushes us to seek validation, this is your reminder to start with yourself. 💗

@re-joyce

Perfection was never the assignment. Messy or not, you’re still writing the story. And that’s what makes it yours.

@re-joyce

"I don’t want to become the person they expect, I can’t thrive in a role and place that doesn’t align with who I truly am." That’s what my manager said before resigning. And honestly, it resonated with me. Why stay in a place where you're not allowed to be yourself or bring your strengths to the table in your own way?

@re-joyce

Being visible at work isn’t about being “bida-bida.” It’s about clarity and communication. In many workplaces, visibility impacts recognition. If you don’t communicate your contributions, others might not see the value you bring and in some cases, someone else may get the credit, intentionally or not. ✅ Document your work. ✅ Share updates regularly. ✅ Keep a paper trail sa decks, chats, reports, and emails. These aren’t just “extra steps” they’re practical habits that support accountability, protect your work, and help teams operate transparently. When your efforts are clear, people understand your impact. When they’re not, assumptions happen and usually not in your favor. You don’t need to be a maingay na “bida-bida.” But don’t let your silence erase your value either. Because in the workplace, quiet doesn’t always mean invisible but it can mean forgettable.

Looking for a new job is usually the most practical and best advice you can give someone thinking of resigning. We all need money. Bills don’t pause just because you’re tired. Kaya madalas sinasabi, “Hanap muna bago resign.” Pero minsan, staying isn’t strength. Survival mode ka na lang. Some workplaces are so toxic, bawat araw pakiramdam mo parang may nilalaban kang di mo ma-explain. You feel drained, nauubos ka, and you don’t even know why. Hindi ‘yan pagiging “soft.” That’s your body and mind telling you na may mali. I once worked for a company na walang pake sa well-being ng employees. Lahat takot. Eventually, employees reported them. That company? Sarado na ngayon. Probably nalugi. So panindigan na. And you know what? It was worth it. If your job is damaging you, maybe it’s time to leave. Minsan pati Viber or WhatsApp tone, trigger na agad. It won’t be easy. You’ll figure it out. Activate your emergency funds if needed. This post isn’t here to tell you what to do. Just a reminder na choosing yourself will always matter :)

It starts small. One stubborn step, one awkward hello, one brave choice to show up- quiet, unassuming, entirely yours. No one cheers, no one notices at first. But each step bends the world just a little, shifts the space around you, carving out a corner that’s yours. And then, before you even realize it, people start noticing. You start fitting in, just by being there.

Not everything is easy, and not everything is fair. Lessons can be bitter, and days can be long. But through the stumbles and the grumbles, we live and we learn. Some days, we make it look easy; some days, we don’t. And some days, we carry the day with a frown, a sigh, and a brave step forward- trusting we’ll get there.

The bag keeps the water still, not the fish free. Sometimes what feels like calm is only containment. It steadies us for a while, but it isn’t the same as being able to swim where we need to go.

@re-joyce

Hirap palang mag free lancer hahhaha

@re-joyce

Even in the middle of everything, you can fold yourself into a little safe world that only belongs to you. A space where no one’s expectations reach, no one’s eyes follow, and nothing demands anything from you. It’s a quiet corner you carry with you, always available, always yours.

A note to ourselves, Today is just another day in the calendar. It can be your first step to something big, a baby step for brighter moments, a stopover for a longer journey, or a campsite to take a pause. Today doesn't need to be grand or big to say you're doing great— for you are already doing one. Different people have different capabilities. As long as you do not stop, a crawl is just as good as a sprint. Keep going, dear!

@re-joyce

someone once told me to always live for the little things in life. live for 5am sunrises and 5pm sunsets. where you'll always see colors in the sky that don't usually belong. live for road trips and bike rides with music in your ears and the wind in your hair. live for days when you are sorrounded with your favorite people who make you realize that the world is not a cold, harsh place. live for the little things because they will make you realize that this is what life is about, this is what it means to be alive. 🤍

@re-joyce

The older you get, the more you realize your parents were just people trying, too. They carried fears they never spoke, made mistakes they couldn’t undo, and loved in ways they only knew how. You see their cracks, their humanness, and somehow it softens the anger, because they were learning, just like you.

@re-joyce

Can we please stop associating being a good person with how much you’re willing to suffer in silence for other people? You can be a kind person and still say “no, I don’t have the time/energy to help you with that.” You can be a kind person and still say “this makes me uncomfortable, please stop.” You can be a kind person and still say “I disagree and here’s why.” You can be kind and still say “I’m not okay with this.” Being kind is about treating people with kindness and respect, not about being the human equivalent of a doormat.

@re-joyce

One thing I learned the hard way: not all clients mean what they say in the same way. An American client will usually be super direct. If they don’t like something, they’ll just tell you. At first it feels harsh, but really… it saves time. A UK client? Totally different. They’ll say, “That’s quite good,” and you might think it’s praise. In reality, it means “Try harder.” They’re polite, but you have to read between the lines. And then Aussies. They’re funny, relaxed, and casual. They’ll throw in “looks good, mate” or “no worries,” and it feels like you’re talking to a friend. But don’t get too comfy. They still expect you to deliver on time. Chinese clients are straightforward too! They value results and efficiency. If they don’t like something, they’ll tell you plain and quick without flowery explanations. The more I worked with them, the more I understood: picking up the tone behind their words is just as important as hearing the words themselves. Clients might come from different cultures, but if you learn how they really communicate, you’ll avoid misunderstandings… and build stronger relationships.

When your thoughts begin to roar, step outside your mind for a moment. Breathe deeply and let the world around you speak softly. Listen for the unnoticed symphony: the faint rustle of leaves, the birds singing outside your window, the distant hum of life carrying on in its quiet, steady way. Slowly, the day starts to slow down, until you can hear yourself again.

Sometimes, as an adult, you have to decide "this is the last time these people are gonna make me feel this way" & stand on it. Whether it's family, a relationship, or a friendship.

𝗪𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗮 𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻. 𝗪𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗮𝘆𝗼. 𝗣𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘀, 𝗸𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗻?

"Stop apologizing. You don’t have to say sorry for how you laugh, how you dress, how you make your hair, how you do your makeup, how you speak. You don’t have to be sorry for being yourself. Do it fearlessly. It’s time to accept: this is you, and you gotta spend the rest of your life with you. So start loving your sarcasm, your awkwardness, your weirdness, your peculiar habits, your unique sense of humor, your voice, your talents, your everything. It will make your life so much easier to simply be yourself."

𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗱, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗯𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘄𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀— people who will serve as the backbone during soul-drenching wars one may face along life's journey. Someone that doesn't need you to go through it alone. One who will include you, make you feel safe and heard. One that doesn't retreat with a single offense but rises to resolve conflicts with love and care. Someone who will never abandon you when you no longer serve the best of their interests. With just a stare could see you through, when your eyes are begging for comfort, a hand to hold, a fighter to backup the battles you fought in silence. 𝗜 𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝘆𝗼𝘂, 𝘄𝗲 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝗮 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲. One that doesn't ask for conditions, and definitely not a friend for hire— only there when the ball is rolling in your favor.

@re-joyce

It's not always the love, nor the happiness, neither the positive emotions, that binds us all together. Sometimes, it's the sadness, the silence, the downfalls—it's the failures that we've got despite doing the best that we could, the mistakes we committed and cannot be undone, the regrets we have deep within our hearts. It's knowing the fact that you are not alone on your lowest; all of us suffer, I wish all of us can survive this, too.
