It started as a fine and really hot day but I decided to stay in bed for a little while longer. I stayed put for about an hour thus leaving me but to skip some chores of the day.
I decided not to clean the car and just brought it into the car wash service center to be cleaned. After about 20 minutes of washing and cleaning. The car got out spic and span and was just shining in all its glory under the hot and scorching sun. I went home and got back into bed, of course.
It was late in the afternoon when I realized that the rumbling and the loud noise outside was brought by the rain and stormy skies. And once again, I fell victim to the curse of the carwash. You wash your car and then all of a sudden it will attract the rain. Damn it!
I think that it was enough intro for today's article. I hope that the misfortune I experience is sufficient to lead on with today's topic, random facts about cars. So without further ado, here we go, zooming and speeding.
To The Moon
The moon is estimated to be 400,000km away from the Earth. It's around 10 times the circumference of the Earth, hence it will take 10 trips around the world by car to get to the moon. That is if the car is continuously driving at a speed of 95km/h. Would you like to make that trip?
The only problem is, aside from the lack of breathable air, there are no gas stations along the way so you might float around the space for an eternity before you can land on the moon.
What's The Color?
Do you have a car? What's the color of it? Or if you will buy yourself a car, what color would that car be in?
I used to think that "Red" (shoutout to all Swifties out there) is the most popular car color so it must be the world's favorite car color. Apparently, that's not the case. According to the study of a global paint supplier, white is the most preferred color of drivers around the world. Well, I would like to have a White Horse myself.
MINI
One of the most recognizable car designs is the Mini. Even Mr.Bean loves the car. The first sketch for its design was drawn on a Napkin. Can you imagine that? From napkins to a billion-dollar dream. I wonder what the guy was drinking or eating at that moment.
BMW LOGO
Did you know that the iconic logo of BMW does not even relate to a car? The white and blue colors of the 'target sign' of BMW represent a white spinning propeller against a blue sky. It is an acknowledgment of the company's origin as an airplane manufacturer.
Car Racing
What about car racing? Are you fond of adrenaline-pumping turns and drifting courses? In the modern-day, you can't really enter a race if your car is not capable of breaking out speed limits easily. But at the world's first real automobile race. The top speed for the cars is just 15mph or about 24.14 kph. Usain Bolt runs over 27mph. I think that the race was just a long one.
Need for Speed
Again, if you like speeding cars you will surely like this bit. Not unless if you are criminal planning to have a car chase. The fastest police car can be found in Dubai. This is also certified by Guinness world records. Again, Dubai isn't the place to have a car chase with the police.
The First Car Accident
During the year 1895, the first-ever automobile accident was recorded. It happened in the city of Ohio. What's fascinating about the accident is not even because it's the first one but because at that time, there were only two cars in the whole state of Ohio. Imagine that. What are the chances, right?
Carbecue
You read it right, you can actually cook food under the hood of your car. If done properly, you can go to a place for a picnic and by the time you arrive at your destination, you have a perfectly cooked pork tenderloin when you pop the hood.
But don't forget your food because you might burn your card down into a crisp.
Beep Beep
Cars nowadays support keyless entry to vehicles. Instead of a physical "old" key, drivers have a "remote" that they can use to lock and unlock the car. It's also an effective way to locate your car in a crowded parking lot since you can usually make your car beep or horn with the remote.
But that remote seems to be useless when it does not cover a lot of range. It's usually effective a few feet away from your car. The amazing thing is, we can fix the range of the remote and extend it substantially. The key is in your head, place the remote under your chin and then press the button.
It may look silly and weird but it really works. The water in our brain acts as a makeshift amplifier for the remote. Don't google it anymore or you'll see its relation to brain cancer. (not true)
Car
The word car is derived from the Latin word "Carrus" which means a two-wheeled wagon.
How Long?
We all know that stretched limousines are longer than the average car and it's the car made for the stars. But the longest limousine and the longest car is about 30.5 meters long. It's a 26-wheeler beast of a car.
Haloa!!!
This is another random offering from yours truly, lately, I have been out of topic and out of drive to write. I just spit out whatever comes into my mind, which as you can see, not that much.
Despite that, I hope that you were able to tolerate this piece and if in the off chance that you liked it, I would really appreciate it if you let me know in the comments. If you want more like this, just say so. You can also tell me what you would like to read in the next parts.
And with that, I hope that you have a great day ahead and enjoy every bit of it, until we meet again...
Cheers!!!
