Explosive Night

Over lunch, Melody was called upon by the other producers of the concert. She talked to them via Zoom. They were smoothing out the final details for the show tomorrow evening while Sebastian was in Melody's room packing up her things and everything needed for their departure.

Melody took a stroll around the beach after her lunch and went back to the beach house to practice some songs. She figured that she has quite sometime before Gabe went to her to pick her up. She managed to squeeze up some of her routines and when she was satisfied she went into the bathroom to prepare for the festival.

Everything was ready and she was just waiting for Gabe to pick her up when a knock on the door came and Sebastian went ahead to meet the visitor in the doorway.

She heard that it was indeed Gabe and she descended the stairs excited and quite looking forward to a nice night with her newfound friend. Or a reunited friend, one might say.

Her eyes lit up when she saw Gabe waiting on her. "Hey, Gabe! Shall we go now?" she asked enthusiastically.

They got to the festival fairly early and the crowd was just beginning to thicken. They were able to visit stalls pretty conveniently and they were able to go around with ease. Food stalls here, game stalls there, she was really enjoying her time and totally forgot that she was going to the big stage tomorrow.

After a while of eating and drinking, Melody felt the urge to go to the powder room as nature called upon her. She left Gabe and went alone. She was done in a quick moment and walked up to the mirror to fix her lipstick a little bit. When she got out of the powder room she was met by a crowd that somehow recognized her.

They gathered around her and started to ask her questions, take pictures and videos of her. She forgot to put on her eyeglasses and put her hair down. She was then recognized by her fans.

The crowd became bigger and bigger and she was starting to panic and called out to Gabe for a bit of assistance.

Gabe rushed towards the restroom and noticed that a commotion was starting to erupt. He could not see Melody anywhere.

"Oh man... Don't tell me..."

He rushed towards where the people are gathered and squeezed himself through the crowd. He then saw Melody looking scared and distressed as she was being harassed by the unrelenting fans. He forced his way towards her and grabbed her hand. And together they ran out of there trying to shake the fans. They took some turns, turned left, turned right, and wherever they could go just to lose their tail.

They ended up in a remote park near the beach. But it was quite lovely since they could clearly see the sky as the fireworks show started. They sat on the bench beside each other while they were both trying to catch their breaths.

"Thank you Gabe. And I'm so sorry for the trouble."

"Oh no. It's my fault, I should not have left you alone. And I should have thought that this could happen. I really had no business dragging you in a crowded place like that."

"Ahm..."

"Yes Melody? Is there anything else?"

"Hmmm. Can you...uhm.."

"Hmmm?" Gabe looked at her with an innocent and inquisitive look.

"Hmmm. Can you...like ... let go of my hand now?"

He slowly looked at his hands still grabbing unto hers and he quickly let go and turned away from her.

"Oh.. I'm so sorry. I was just... I'm so sorry."

Melody laughed at his reaction. "It's okay. It's fine."

Mark and his friends arrived at the festival after following Gabe and Melody from the distance. Since the day before, he had someone following and watching Melody's beach house. He got her location from the record of her Facebook account. And from then on, he's got her under watch.

They followed the two closely when they ran away from the crowd. He was waiting for the best moment to approach her. And when the two got into a remote park with almost no lights and not much of a crowd around he thought that he finally got the perfect chance. But the simple conversation he wishes to have with Melody turned sideways when he saw his Melody being dragged by another guy.

He turned to his friends.

"Change of plans. Take them both."

A sharp and quick strike to the back of the head made Gabe unconscious and he fell forward. Melody did not even have time to scream when a gun was pointed at her. They were dragged into the van.

"Hi Mel. You missed me?"

"Mark. What the hell do you think you're doing?"

"What do you think? I am taking you back."

They ended up in a warehouse. Melody was sitting on a chair while Gabe was still unconscious lying on the floor.

"You haven't done anything wrong yet. You can make this right Mark. Let us go."

"I am not stupid. I am in too deep. There's no turning back now."

Hey hey hey!!!

Another installment here. The story is progressing quickly, and it's looking more and more like a telenovela now. Lol.

Apologies for the late update with this, we have been quite busy for a long stretch there. But here you go. I hope that you are still with us and could still follow the story. If not, you can go back to the first part and read it again for a recap.
