These two coronavirus tests usually create a confusion to other people. What are their difference?
Today I'm here to explain what is the difference of these two without saying too much complicated terms.
Swab test (PCR)
This test can detect the infection with most accuracy. It always find the virus' genetic material. It works by taking a swab to your nose or throat. Usually it takes about less than a week to see the result. It is suggested to take this test if you have COVID-19 symptoms.
Blood test (antibody)
The result of this test is available for less than an hour/day but not as sensitive as PCR test: not accurate. It works by taking a blood sample and measuring the body immune response. It is suggested to take this test if you had covid-19 and recovered.
